That is the most amazing packaging ever. You shouldn't have a problem. I got a 85% hatch rate with basic cardboard box shipment. Seriously. One lady packed my box full of icelandic sheeps wool which was perfect. Really cool.
Swedish Homestead You have possibly the best channel of this type . You give good and clear information ! I like that you think before you do ! Another channel that I sometimes watch just does without thinking with predictable poor results ! A couple of questions about your cows. What breed are they ? Does you keep them outdoors during the winter ? Are they meat only cows or do you milk them also ? I have only 1/10 of your land which is quite enough for a 74 y/o man that lives by himself . I learn many good things from you ! Not only the how but the why ! dhmill827@gmail.com
We have an unusual method of checking for fertile eggs before starting the whole procedure. We have can dog that can sense the fertile from the unfertile eggs. We discovered her talent by accident, but she has a very god success rate. We mark the eggs she reacts to and they are the ones that hatch. You are welcome to come to Värmland and check it out,
Your English is great for a third language. Just to assist: a ZYGOTE is a cell (in diploid state) resulting from the union of a male (haploid) cell with a female (haploid) cell. When the zygote cell begins to multiply it becomes an embryo. Hope that made sense.
i guess Im randomly asking but does any of you know of a method to log back into an instagram account?? I was stupid lost my login password. I would love any assistance you can give me.
@Arian Toby thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
All your vids are just super informative and helpful. Im going to open my own small poultry farm here in Norway so its all very useful. Thank you and wish you all the best!
For those asking about the make and model of the machine and where to get one, the answer is at 6:13 of the video. It's made by the German maker Hemel, at www.hemel.de (says right on the machine!), and judging from the instrument panel and the fact that it's got 3 trays, this looks to be a "Brutmaschine A 180". Here's a link: www.hemel.de/brutmaschinen/brutmaschinen-aus-holz/a-modelle-standard-holz/brutmaschine-a-180.html?c=696
Wow! I didn't realize how much is involved in hatching chicks. I have always had my hens do the work. But I can see if you are doing chickens commercially, you would have to play the part of the hen. Thanks for such a great educational video!
Hello, I'm a new subscriber and I am really enjoying your channel. This video had so much good information which was explained very clearly. Thank you for that, I'm looking forward to more.
A little motor pushes that metal rod back and forth. I connected the trays that the eggs lay on to that rod. The eggs lay on rolls on the tray so when they push back and forth the rolls turn the eggs.
Hi simeon! All the way from Philippines here. Our incubator here is different Was wondering if u could show us how the eggs will move to rotate? I really like the design of it. Thanks!
I would like to see the actual turning process to understand how it works. Does the machine lift one side and let the egg roll ? How does the actual turning process work?
Does the top layer get rotated so the bottom and middle get more of the light or will it stay exactly as you have as of this date of the video? It could just lighting looks different from my view. I hope question isn't redundant. I usually read a lot of comments and questions before I post so you are not inundated with the same questions. I really enjoyed your video as usual because of how informative you with your content. Thank you very much.
The light is off during normal operation. The eggs stay in the same place until 3 days before hatching when they will be moved to other trays where the chicks will hatch.
I really like the machine. Is it available over the internet? If so, would you provide the link? Love your channel....you have great ideas and present them excellently...

so Simeon, how does your wife feel about you hangin out with all of those chicks , lol...im excited to see this happen, where do the chicks stay after they hatch
You can actually wash your eggs, i have done it with 5 cups of water mixed with 1 table spoon of olive oil, since 30 degree C water is fine for them to wash with and then place the eggs. the olive oil opens even the close pores of eggs and kill any bad bacteria that is near by i also put a table spoon of olive oil in the water tray for moisture, it also kill any kind of bad bacteria inside the incubator and cleanse the environment.

Hens are less reliable. I've had hens decide to sit, get a nice big ole pile of eggs underneath them, sit for two weeks and then decide they're done. All of those eggs are wasted. That being said, some breeds are better at sitting than others, and most birds don't care whose eggs they are that they're sitting on. I have a duck running around my yard right now that was hatched by a turkey! But our last hen-hatched batch only resulted in a single chick, as the hen decided she was done as soon as one bird hatched. Mind you, she also hatched this chick in early winter - the worst possible time for chicks to survive, so this one got raised in the house. Birds are very stinky. Food for thought!

we have such different layers than ya'll in Europe. thank you much for sharing and showing your farming lifestyle
I also have New Hampshire, Australorp, Sussex and Rhode Island Red. I think these breeds are very common in the States.
Congratulations on very likely hitting 5000 subscribers this weekend Simeon. Your channel is very successful and you really deserve it.
Thank you.

I am humbled to hear that.
Great craftmanship on that hatcher .. good choice.
It is nice. I love it.
Nice incubator! Great video...
always fun hatching eggs, I have found that the less handling the better and being a little dirty is fine.
Thank You’ll for information and advice
Yes I hatch our chicks and order some also every year
I'm actually taking time to watch the entire video..... thanks for mentioning / showing the machine name. This is helpful.

That sound incredible.
The way you handled the egg in your hand was mesmerizing. Can you juggle? With Your hand dexterity you could do magic tricks.
The way you present the material is excellent. Can't wait to see more.
Thanks.
There's quite a lot to consider, I find it very interesting, Thank You for taking the time to share.
nice chicken machine )) Simple, good looking, good materials, nice made, interesting design - nice, like it.
Hello...just found your channel and really enjoyed your channel trailer. So looking forward to following your journey. Greetings from Alaska!

Thanks.

Thanks for watching. Glad you liked it.
Very informative! Thanks for sharing with us 😁
Thankyou for showing your egg turning design! This is great! I'm working on making a new incubator and might do the same thing.
You have great videos, and great information! I hope it all goes well for you this year!

Hello, I'm a new subscriber and I am really enjoying your channel. This video had so much good information which was explained very clearly. Thank you for that, I'm looking forward to more.
Very informative, thank you sir.
You're welcome. Glad you enjoyed it.
Very interesting. I'm not understanding how the turning mechanism works. But I will keep watching to find out.
A little motor pushes that metal rod back and forth. I connected the trays that the eggs lay on to that rod. The eggs lay on rolls on the tray so when they push back and forth the rolls turn the eggs.
Love your channel. Thank you sir. Could you make a video of how you select your birds to breed plz?
Good job...
Hi simeon! All the way from Philippines here. Our incubator here is different Was wondering if u could show us how the eggs will move to rotate? I really like the design of it. Thanks!
thanks for all your informative videos
if your ever here in Oklahoma USA email me we would love to have you as a guest
Simeon , would a time lapse of hatching be possible? That would be interesting...Mike
Yes. I will try to do that.
I would like to see the actual turning process to understand how it works. Does the machine lift one side and let the egg roll ? How does the actual turning process work?
Nice detailed video :)
Thanks.
cool video gracias
So when do we bust out that fondue pot?
Where do you buy the wood incubator

Can you please provide a link to where you bought these eggs? Thank you :)

Thank you!!
😁
No problem.
Where did you get your Beilefelder eggs from? Do they do International shipping 🤔?
on the occasion that i do hatch eggs i still just put them in a box with a drop lite
Did you build this incubator or purchase it? If you purchased it, can you provide a link?

so Simeon, how does your wife feel about you hangin out with all of those chicks , lol...im excited to see this happen, where do the chicks stay after they hatch
Haha. They go into the brooder house.
Did the eggs for hatching pre cleaned or natural protection kept ??
What do you call the packaging material used in the box?
Sorry to bother y’all but wondering if ull ship some eggs to Oregon
Where do I get these pure blood german chickens
Hi Simeon, where did you purchase the Bresse eggs from?
Is it possible to tell from the shape of the egg, if it is male or female?
What turns the eggs? I see only trays with dowels that you put the eggs on and the trays are being moved but what turns the eggs?
There is a little motor on the back of the machine that moves the metal rod back and forth slowly over the course of a few hours.
I though eggs were good for only 7 days?
where did you find the official egg weight for the breast eggs?
In English an Embryo is in fact an Embryo so you got it right!
Yeah I know but before you put the egg into the machine there hasn't been an embryo yet that has developed...
Swedish Homestead The egg goes in the machine fertilized, the heat triggers the embryo to begin developing into a chick.
Your poor hands, reminds me of growing up in Canada. (in oz now)
How much is your Hemel incubator????
Whats the manufacturer name ? Why didn't you show rotation of tray ?
Du fortalte, at æggene kom fra Tyskland..... har du prøvet at købe fra England?
Where did you get your eggs from? do you maybe have a link?
I have gotten them from different places. This time it was from this breeder:
www.huehnervielfalt.de/index.php?id=42
where can you get one?
I don't get it how does a hen adjust humidity and such? A hen doesn't have a fan and a even bosy tempeture no? It sounds complicated and technical.
Incubators are built to match a hen’s temperature and humidity not the other way round
How many eggs do you keep in here?
HI I HAVE QUESTION WHAT OS THE BRAND OF THE INCUBATOR WHERE YOU BUY AND HOW MUCH IT COST TO YOU THANK U

Hvor kjøper du rugeegg fra Tyskland eller danmark ? Jeg finner ikke noe om dette på nett. HilsenRuth
I like you........ Cathy
Is it easy to get eggs via the post (internationally?)
Here in the EU it is. I don't know abroad.
lucky!
gotta say this what came first the chicken or the egg
The chicken!
I learned you can store eggs for 10 days before incubating.
But, 7 is best.
So much evidence against this family, yet nothing ever comes of it.
Why don't you leave eggs with hen to care for and hatch?

Cause a chicken can't sit on 140 eggs
*IS THAT A MUTHAFUCKING FLY IN THE PHOTO?*
