The RX7600 is meant to replace the RX6600. The gap between those 2 cards is 20%-25%. The 4060ti is meant to replace the 3060ti and the gap is 5%-7%. You're also comparing a difference of 2 stacks (rx6600, rx6600xt, rx6700xt) which doesn't make sense. The equivalent of the 4060ti will be the 7700xt which isn't even out yet. How can you say that it's more value to buy the 4060ti when the generational difference isn't even close between the two cards.

The glaring problem is the fact that they have so many leftovers from last gen on clearance right now these prices seem dumb. They're pretty much on par for what prices would have been if the event in 2020 hadn't happened, but with a card that's at most 10% slower and 50 bucks cheaper sitting on the shelf next to it...they don't look so good. Rtx 3000 had the benefit of rtx 2000 being a total trainwreck with bad memory artifacting in 2080's raytracing being seen as a gimmick at the time. 4000 and 7000 have to deal with the fact that the tier above from last gen is sitting right next to it at around the same price.

Honestly you are comparing a 7600 to a 4060ti a more fair comparison would be the 7600xt Vs the 4060ti or the 4060 Vs 7600 when they launch. Hopefully the 7600xt performs the same as the 3060ti or even 4060ti since it's not that far fetched and sell it for $100 cheaper

My first impressions after watching my 'big 4' Tech RUclipsr's (LTT, GN, J2C and TT) this really feels like a respectable product that could use a 12GB option. Try and shave off around 15-25 currency units. Really weird AMD didn't just go with 12GB Buffer by default when they threw shade and Intel were thoughtful enough to give us all ARC 770 16GB - Doesn't that card look like a great purchase and no wonder it's basically sold out. 12GB version of this for say 309 feels like a real slam dunk. Had it had 192 Bit bus would have been a little ripper.

Sorry for being rude - but this needs to be said: This is what happens what people who don't know what they are talking about make reviews of mid range products. Let me guess you are used to high end stuff? The RX 7600 is an amazing card!... Ok if you actually care - then I will try to explain why - so I can hear your arguments - or see if you have any at all! This is gonna be a bit long I'm sure cause it's hard to explain quickly.
    Here we go:
"I wish we got more" ... Really? You do? So a 20%-ish performance uplift and 60$ less in one generation is not good enough. Yeah sure I realize that is was 30$ - but even a 20% generation uplift at 30$ less - or about 10% less price - is some pretty good generational uplift right there?!
Ok a small disclaimer which many people don't understand - so I will try (The creators of the video is not a target for this part - but rather for the general debate about this card which I'm currently hearing from people I'm helping build a mid range setup and who have been "reading up online"):
One rules people NEED TO GET INTO THEIR HEADS is this: The mid range PC gamer is looking for a smooth playable framerate - mainly at 1080p (according to ALL the charts) They want good looking graphics - however to the VAST majority - all the "extra stuff" which takes away from your FPS is disabled. (again - according to all the charts) - this means that almost no one is shopping for an RTX XX60 or RX X6XX card with raytracing in mind! Raytracing is a thing which might be turned on for 5 minutes to go "that looks pretty" - and then replaced by "now give me back my high FPS"... For this reason - any arguments which goes "But what about RT" - should go debate about 500$+ GPUs. This is a 269$ GPU... - and just a note - I have a halo tier card in my main rig - so I have RT on all the time... except when I forget and still think it's on - because when you are playing you quickly stop to notice if the reflections in a puddle a crispy AF or not!
So to my actual problem with the whole sentiment that this card is in ANY way a let down:
Ok riddle me this: If the 4060 Ti barely outperforms the 3060 Ti - and sometimes loses slightly... how will a cut down version of the 4060 Ti - aka the 300$ 4060 perform vs the RX 6650 XT which in comparison to the 3060 Ti is -5 to 25% slower? So in essence a 230$ card which can do 105% at best and 75% at worst of the 3060 Ti - which is last gen... because the 7600 is not going up against the 4060 Ti - it's going up against the 4060! You actually start out well in somewhat pointing this out - however you seem to still get a bit blinded by the numbers from the 4060 Ti. It's NOT a good comparison. A good comparison would be putting it up against the older brother - aka the RX 6600.
A hint to how this will play out could be: The 6650 XT fairly firmly beats the 3060 - and only in a few outliers can it JUST BARELY keep up with it - like in "Days gone". So if the 4060 is only slightly better than the 3060 like the 4060 Ti is only slightly better than the 3060 Ti....... then it's AT LEAST 50$ overpriced since the gaps in price/performance don't line up for Nvidia. It NEEDS to be A LOT better than the 3060 was to the 3060 Ti to even justify 230$ of the 6650 XT - let alone the 269$ of the 7600 - not to mention the 300$ MSRP. (In less convoluted words: The 4060 needs to beat the 6650XT/7600 which both beat up the 3060 by a fair bit - to in any way be worth the 300$ pricetag - which will be hard if the generation performance gap is maintained from the 3060 Ti vs 4060 Ti) And the kicker here is this. The Ti is supposed to be the "big daddy" version of the tier it's in right? So the card the 4060 Ti is up against is not actually the RX 7600 - because that card is a 269$ MSRP card. That's the card some people are putting it up against - and that's just - wrong? It's ACTUALLY the unreleased 7600 XT or 7650 XT. Those cards are coming soon... most likely :-D - and if they keep the price and performance gap between the XT/XX50 XT vs the non-XT from the previous gen - then the 4060 and the 4060 Ti are gonna look even worse...... because the 7600 is VERY close in performance to the last gen balls to the wall version in this class from AMD - the 6650 XT - so wonder how the 7650 XT will perform - AGAIN - if it all lines up.
Just to refresh your memory - the RX 6600 had a MSRP of 329$ - and the RX 7600 has an MSRP of 269$ - aka 60$ less for the new gen! Think about that! Just for one second forget ALL about fanboy-ism! We are being told that "GPUs get more and more expensive to make" - YET the X600 series from AMD is 60$ lower for the NEW card! Why is no one celebrating this? 😀
NOW - the RX 6600 is not REALLY in the same performance class as the 6650 XT - just like the non-ti version of the 3060 is fairly massively outdone by the 3060 Ti... So the fact that we are getting a 269$ MSRP card with - with unmatured drivers - is on par with the last gen 399$ MSRP RX 6650 XT + AV1 encoder and other stuff - is ACTUALLY insane! Yes the 6650 XT is cheaper now which is normal (till stock runs out) - however - it this sorta craps all over Nvidias excuses for demanding such high prices for their mid tier cards!
It's some VERY good generational performance uplift at a much lower price!
Now please - tell me how this card is disappointing again! I don't see how you can if you compare it to the right cards.
In other news my car SUCK because it's not a Veyron! 😀Massively disappointing!
(Also most likely messed up some grammar or missed pointing something out which makes no sense - so will be happy to clarify 😀English is not my native tongue.)

Also nvenc is miles better, DLSS is better quality than FSR, CUDA is widely supported on most popular software, normal support for OpenGL, DX11 ect. Nvidia will unlaunch the 4060ti in a few weeks/months and then relaunch it as the 4050ti I'd bet.
AMD will drop the 7600's price $25-50 in the same time.

Not saying it wil always be the better choice over the 4060 but DLSS isn't relevant to everyone. The reviewer of pcviewer noted that using DLSS at 1080p can actually result in artefacts.
