This is the intro to Season 3 Episode 15 of The Love Boat. Eagerly awaiting the tenative release of the first season mid 2008 as stated in the magazine VARIETY.
Eileen Wilson All it is, is more variety. I agree, reality TV isn’t good, but there are still plenty of other shows of all genres on TV. It’s not like reality TV shows are the only thing on TV. People like you just use reality TV as an excuse to hate on anything new in the world, but you don’t understand that reality TV isn’t the only thing that exists.
The mellennials love reality shows and umpteen talk shows. No more shows dealing with science fiction, drama, humor in uniform. variety shows, documentaries or westerns. US boomers are leaving regular tv to retro tv like ME TV.
I loved this show. You'd get to see entertainers you hadn't seen in a long time. It was so much better than those awful reality shows we have today. And Gavin McLeod was sexy.
@NYCMESBRNX The Love Boat & Fantasy Island definitely served their purposes as escapist television at that particular moment in time.Society today is way too dark & cynical for it to have worked had it debuted today.
If I had been seeing this episode of "The Love Boat" at the time, I probably would have been saying to myself, "Hey! It's Patty Simcox (from 'Grease') and Skipper (from 'Gilligan's Island')." Of course, I would usually watch "Gilligan's Island" on TV everyday after school (the show was in regular syndication on TV back during the late 1970s and early 1980s).
@classicphile Yes,it sure is a crying shame that television has evolved to the point of absurdity with these God damn reality shows!Mind you, shows like The Love Boat and Fantasy Island eventually got old to me during the mid-80's,but they were both still 10 times the quality of today's crap.
Not only television, but the movies have in many ways run out of originality as well as simplicity. Television was based around semi simple characters, with usually uncomplicated plots that, in many cases, had real life implications. The only show on network television that I watch is House Md, being that Jericho got canceled a long time ago.
This had a really nice scene where Alan Hale Jr and Milton Burle were goading each other at their dinner with Captin Stubing. "...what was you name...Flash? Flush? ... "It should have been you went down enough times"
I liked James' Danno better than the one now.He wasnt always a smart mouth hothead like the new one.Much more subdued but on top of things.Guess Mcarthur's Danno was his uncle or something like Lord's Mcgarret was the new one's father
Anybody know where I can find Love Boat season 3-and all anothers only find season 1 and 2. I try everywhere but not found. I living Finland so I don't can't watch those US or UK regions only watching places :(
Season 3 (this particular season; both volumes 1 and 2) was released on DVD January 17, 2017. Season 4 (both volumes 1 and 2) will be released on DVD this October 2.
Did HULU delete some of the first season LB stories?Seemed like they used to have all of them to watch for free with ads of course.I guess Hulu wants people to pay extra when they already have free shows with commercials.
@landrykkb it's only dark and cynical on TV, in reality, textbook crimes are lower now than they were in the 70's, it's the crime of sensationalism that has dramatically risen over the years. Networks profit greatly from it.
Guess they changed Lauren's opening credit shot.In the first two seasons at the last second she looked to the director on her right like she couldn't wait for it to be over.
has there been anybody from the cast of little house on the praire that have been on cameos or have been guest stars on the love boat series besides melissa sue Anderson?
I always thought Vickie was like a female Adric or Will Robinson to the show.I wonder if they were jumping the shark in 1979 or in 1984 when Ted McGinnely( the Photographer came on).No It had to be the MERMAIDS in 1985.By the last season the Love Boat was in a life raft.To me the first two seasons were the best
This was when TV was TV, not all the reality crap that is on now.

Life was good and then we all grew up and had to go to work.
i miss tv shows like this... i was only a kid when this was on..... but i still liked it.
I loved this show. You'd get to see entertainers you hadn't seen in a long time. It was so much better than those awful reality shows we have today.

When the Skipper from Gilligan Island will meet Captain Stubbings with Danno from Hawaii 5-0!
The Skipper on the Love Boat. LOL!
Didn’t he remember the last time he got on a boat 😂😂😂
I’m just glad to see that entire Love Boat crew is still with us today. However many of the guest stars have passed on.
Sadly, Gavin MacLeod has passed on. May he rest in peace.
The Skipper and Ms. Hathaway on the same episode? Now that's entertainment!
Uncle Miltie, The Skipper, and Miss Hathaway from the Beverly Hillbies, and Mrs Robert Wagner!
Awesome!
What a great night for tv back when I was a kid! Love Boat, Fantasy Island and "Chiller" Theatre!!
ABC felt the 70s era disco-ish theme needed to be updated for the 80s, so they brought in Dionne Warwick to do an updated version.
I love how Nancy Kulp is all "Oh, there you are," before she scrunches her face.
Great old time stars! the intro for season 3 i think is the best intro of all the seasons.
@NYCMESBRNX The Love Boat & Fantasy Island definitely served their purposes as escapist television at that particular moment in time.Society today is way too dark & cynical for it to have worked had it debuted today.
I watch this sometimes on paramount plus I was born in the mid 80’s so I didn’t watch this when it was on the air
This was that classic episode when Captain Stubing ran aground and killed 47. It was their best ever
Longing 80&70's...
Mr. Television, the immortal Milton Berle, "Uncle Milty" on the Love Boat.....LOVE IT.
I love it!
If I had been seeing this episode of "The Love Boat" at the time, I probably would have been saying to myself, "Hey! It's Patty Simcox (from 'Grease') and Skipper (from 'Gilligan's Island')."

This could be the best intro of all the seasons.
I remember this ep. Gopher F+@#*with Jill St. John. Boy was she a looker then.
@classicphile Yes,it sure is a crying shame that television has evolved to the point of absurdity with these God damn reality shows!Mind you, shows like The Love Boat and Fantasy Island eventually got old to me during the mid-80's,but they were both still 10 times the quality of today's crap.
I admit it I had a crush on Gopher! I think I watched every episode of this show. I especially liked the two hour episodes.
@classicphile Yeah it felt like you were leaving for a cruise when this song came on. It still does to this day.
Like a different lifetime ago. Times of innocence &normal family ....
great intro love the anchors passing by
eclectic group of guest stars for this episode *thumbs up*
season 3 was love boats peak. could be the best season of all.
I'd like it if they'd get the show on the road
and get season 3 released out on DVD
So THAT's how Danno got to Hawaii !!
Oooh…. the 'other' Skipper was on there today.
Where is Season 8 episodes 2 & 3 "Stolen Years] with Cloris Leachman & George Kennedy? The absolute best.
Que nostalgia, são coisas assim que ainda me faz suspirar.
RIP Gavin MacLeod
Wow person who played the esteemed Danny Williams from Hawaii 5-0 making appearance on LB later on in his career
Ted Lange from the what's going down show, That's my Momma!!
Hey! It's Miss Jane!
Joanna Pettet played a hard nosed police detective on Knots Landing trying to put Gary away for life
this one was good with the skipper from gilligans island and susan buckner who played on grease

This is jil st johns group, next week it could be your group.
If there is a way to get the videos off youtube then you could theoretically split the video and sound.
@msgreeneyez26 yes indeed, and all the overblown crime show crap too, back then crime shows were just a fun ride
Jill St. John...va va va voom!

@landrykkb I also remember her in an episode of The Twilight Zone, great actress.
Incredible nobody commented about the south park parody of this as the catholic love boat
Anybody know where I can find Love Boat season 3-and all anothers only find season 1 and 2. I try everywhere but not found. I living Finland so I don't can't watch those US or UK regions only watching places :(

What happened to the Jack Jones theme song ? Got to say it was one of the best ever for a show. Contract dispute?
Was that a good set of The Love Boat, which was a lot of grandma viewed as a small number of times.
I Believe This Was A Video Clip Of "The Love Boat" Video Open From December 8, 1979.
Did HULU delete some of the first season LB stories?Seemed like they used to have all of them to watch for free with ads of course.I guess Hulu wants people to pay extra when they already have free shows with commercials.

Guess they changed Lauren's opening credit shot.In the first two seasons at the last second she looked to the director on her right like she couldn't wait for it to be over.
Nancy Kulp never had many roles after the Beverly Hillbillies got cancelled. She had died penniless, which is a sin.
Jill St John. Hot
Wow I think most have the guest stars in that line up are gone.
has there been anybody from the cast of little house on the praire that have been on cameos or have been guest stars on the love boat series besides melissa sue Anderson?
Arab terrorists tried to hukjack ship but Isaac poisoned their apple juice

I always thought Vickie was like a female Adric or Will Robinson to the show.I wonder if they were jumping the shark in 1979 or in 1984 when Ted McGinnely( the Photographer came on).No It had to be the MERMAIDS in 1985.By the last season the Love Boat was in a life raft.To me the first two seasons were the best
Although I don't agree with you demographic audience belief I was, however, quite supprised to see how sexist the characters were.
