  • In this video I do a short demonstration of the Jackson Cruise FD on the water stability test, I hope this helps some of you as your trying to make up your mind on which kayak to purchase.
The Jackson Cruise FD is not as wide as some platforms out there, which makes it faster, but also less stable, you can however stand up in fish in it with little practice, as long as you are used to standing up in a kayak.

I just wanted to add the initial stability is a little wobbly on these boats, but the secondary stability is actually really good, once you get over the initial wobbly feeling you realize it is a pretty stable kayak. The reason for the initial stability being a bit wobbly is the v type hull instead of a pontoon type hull, the benefits of the v type hull is it tracks better, and is faster.

The Pelican is more stable, but the Cruise is more than stable enough to stand and fish out of, your just not gonna do jumping jacks in it or walk around, the Cruise is also faster and paddles/ peddles better
