The old hydro archon know this but in that time neuvi still not know his powers, and she’s too afraid neuvi may hates fontaine and doesn’t want to help her, so she make a perfect plans where neuvi is mature enough to believe that Fontaine stands with him and that his archon doesn’t want to take his ancestors powers but to give it back to neuvi. So when the times come neuvi could save fontaine and furina still alive alongside with new fontaine that overcome the deathly prophecy
Hearing that the Hydro Archon's punishment is death sentence is absolutely shocking on its own right already, but it hits even harder when you remember that although such punishment is a thing in Fontaine, it has never been imposed on someone for years until now.
That’s why set up and context is important for final climax and they did a great job in Fontaine previous quests too…..knowing all that makes it more goosebump inducing

Her and Itto's VA are seriously extremely talented and not just conveying emotion, but you can tell they genuinely understand the background of these scenes because you can hear the emotion strain and weight of certain words. Furina's mix of fake bravado and helplessness now suddenly also showing joy and even somber emotion despite being the winner of her plan and prophecy--- that lady is TALENTED. 😂

i absolutely LOVE fontaine's archon quest writing. the traveler is shown in this trailer like once. the rest is furina, neuvillette, the whale and fontaine drowning. in every other archon quest, we were solving all the problems, doing all the important stuff but in this quest, we are just a traveler, passing by and watching a performance unfold. like someone in the audience. which fits perfectly with fontaine. this is the only quest where the traveler actually feels like a traveler
Kind of want to point out. Now that 4.2 has been released for a while. But while usually the Traveller goes around solving problems this time they very much contributed to the problems lol! I.e. setting up the trial.

It was like a whole movie… the way furina’s mental sequence was portrayed, how everything repeated over and over, how we could only start running starting from scene 3, how it jumped right from 5 to that big number, everything was just perfect

If you read the Chinese characters of the title in CN version backwards, it means To Declare that No One is Guilty. This corresponds exactly to the two sides of Hydro archon.
I sense the admiration in neuvilette's voice when he describes focalors as "devious" it makes you think that the "play" or the plan of focalor to deal with the upcoming calamity that arlecchino has been always asking already started 500 years ago when neuvilette met focalors (I just don't know if furina was just acting that she doesn't know what the plan is or she knows there's a plan but doesn't remember or know what it is)

they try to mislead in some but in even more past trailers they revealed too much and my speculations end up making the finished product disappointing. I like how they framed it as if neuvillette was being used as a sacrifice here rewatching it again

Upon hearing the first sentence I was hooked. That was so unexpected- I kept watching and it kept getting better and better! The part where the traveler is reaching for Navia- ooooh every part of this is giving my the chills! Also are we not gonna talk about how adorable Charlotte is? Her attacks are so cool :o I’ll definitely be pulling for her
That voice change of Furina's a the end has me floored! I had a feeling this whole time there had to be more to her than the persona she always puts on, but hearing the personality change there sent chills!
I always knew we were going to face a death penalty on one point in the story as it resembles the fall of monarchy in the french revolution where fontaine is based on but it still sends me chills and amplifies my tension for the next part even though I already have expexted it
Someone said this story has a lot of biblical parallels as well which is interesting. (Fontaine’s flood being an allegory to Noah’s Ark ((with Wrio’s boat being the ark)) and I think there were some last supper references. I saw it in a Twitter thread. Even Childe has some biblical parallels!) I am super excited to see where this goes.

The way it just dropped in act 1 like "oh btw death sentence exists but hasn't been applied yet", I just felt there would be something going on with it near the end since we heard nothing about it in act 2, 3 or 4.

Her goal is to save the people from the prophecy. Also, the part where something fell from the ceiling, and furina's hat fell, could it be where furina got executed? Her hair is also short (when she's wearing her ousia outfit) did a guillotine come cutting her hair off after she got beheaded? The last part where she bids farewell to Neuvillette, did she meant it in an evil way or is she the one about to leave? I can't tell her intentions based on her intonations Oh gosh I have so many questions.

I dont think furina will die. According to the prophecy, the hydro archon will be the only survivor of the calamity, she'll be crying on the remnants of her once lively nation. I feel like this trial is more of a build up to the whole skirk+childe/flood/neuv's purpose plot, all coming down at once. And another thing, I don't actually think that he's ever referred to Furina as "Focalor". I feel like the "devious one" he's referring to is the past hydro archon, aka the one who gave him a quest to live with humans, and the real mastermind to this prophecy. The thing that fell was probably a guillotine, but i feel like furina would survive that, because she isn't supposed to die according to the prophecy. Lastly, i feel like the person talking to neuv was either the past hydro archon, or an awakened state of furina. (or idk mayB she did die and im completely off lol)
I cant understand how some people still think Neuvillette dislikes Furina and wants nothing to do with her, it’s quite clear that it’s the opposite. She’s the reason he has a purpose and why he loves Fontaine and its people. He finds her antics annoying at most, but he loves her dearly ( either familial or otherwise, up to the person )

2:09 It seems like Neuvilette was devastated seeing furina died (temporarily) in front of her. Also 2:01 cutscene when the furina trial starts, this is also connected at 2:09 from what I’ve seeing, and then 2:13 the Guillotine hits furina then she disappeared or died (temporarily), somehow the Whale got unleashed alongside with childe got escaped and is fighting the whale with his foul legacy. 2:21 and 2:27 and 2:30 is connected cutscene with neuvilette is sad and angry and unleash his power to flood fontaine or saved fontaine from flooding. From his Idle Animation and his demo. He can control the power of water either he floods or reverts from flooding.
I have chills everywhere. Like Furina getting the death sentence, Neuvillette in action, seeing Childe again, Fontaine FLOODING (2:57 if your confused) and hearing Furina at the end. Like I’m too hyped for this quest LIKE MY GOD

The last part of Fontaine was the best but others are not as good as Sumerus. If I'm talking about my best experience, its the Liyue Archon Quest is the best. The battle in the Jade Chamber after the duel vs Childe remains my best experience in Genshin.
the voice in 1:21 is actually mona's, which is quite interesting. Also the fact that both Nicole's and Skirk's voices are in this surprises me honestly. Given that Mona talks abt us not being a local, would probably confirm she's from fontaine anyway. I wonder what Nicole has to do with this (the prophecy), or if its just because mona is back.
Are you sure that's not Navia? She sounds REALLY similar, *including* vocal inflections, to the point where I was sure they had the same VA before looking it up.

I'm really hyped because it showed the Doomsday Clock from the Narcissenkreuz Ordo falling 2:08. Usually all of the Narcissenkreuz stuff happens in the background so the fact that its showing up in the trailer at all is really tying in all the lore with the main story!
The trailers usually show stuff that will be in world quests too, so I assumed that part would be part of the conclusion to the series of world quests we got that they talked about in the live stream

If we go by the theory of the Oratrice being the ACTUAL Furina, it does make sense that Focalors would punish herself via death sentence in order to get her existence out of the way, and in return have Neuvilette gain total power of his draconic prowess. I'd like to see your theories as well TvT
i think the oratrice is actually focalor's consciousness like what wei said... i think all they are doing as for the bigger plot is to get revenge or try to defeat celestia because of the principles they have to follow and the dangers,and since if focalors's consciousness is in the oratrice, then it means that thats why childe was guilty to awaken the whale so at the end, Neuvillette will ascend

Neuvillette getting the gnosis will only mean that his powers can finally be full since the half of them are stored within the Hydro gnosis. He would never accept the position of an Archon (and I personally also doubt that Celestia would let a dragon sovereign to be one). On the other hand, it's unlikely that he'll get his powers back at all. At least in the Fontain plot
Every new Fontaine trailer makes me think it's the best trailer they've released but this one might be actually be the best so far. The buildup and suspense in Fontaine's trailers is both fitting and perfectly done
I really wonder if Natlan will be able to surpass or even equal the quality of this last chapter of the archon quest.... This was so well executed and a true emotional roller coaster. Genshin's best quest truly, and we already had exeptional ones in Sumeru before.

Furina has the bubble spinning attack which reminds me of Dori’s attacks sitting on down as well! While Charlotte has a similar picture attack to Nahida as well. I like the callbacks to Sumeru characters.

natlan is great, i love it. but man…i really miss the fontaine days. id give anything to relive the fontaine era. i never thought i would be nostalgic for 2023
I love how there are only 2 two types of events now, one is like fun art projects that the devs are letting us experience and the other is whale mode difficulty but you can get the primo rewards easily. Also, all the quests are either short or interactive which keeps me interested. Fontaine is definitely the best region to play through so far in Genshin.
Yeah, as a new player four months into the game Fontaine's exploration process has been the friendliest so far. I have caught up with the Mondstat and Liyue world quests and is now working on Inazuma side-by-side with Fontaine, and the old quests from Inazuma are downright frustrating compared to Fontaine.
The hydro archon is both the human Furina and Focalors. Focalors is either furina’s alternate personality or the person inside the oratrice. Focalors deceives Neuvilette and will be the one to get the death penalty

It's nice to watch 4.0-4.2 trailers a few weeks before Natlan. To see the tricks they use on trailers. Showing world quest cutscenes with important voice lines from Archon Quest. I am quite sad this is the End of Fontaine, it was so far my favourite region.
Likewise, it's my favorite region thus far. Gonna miss Fontaine for sure. Hope we have a few more map expansions in later updates.

I always knew we were going to face a death penalty on one point in the story as it resembles the fall of monarchy in the french revolution where fontaine is based on but it still sends me chills and amplifies my tension for the next part even though I already have expexted it
Someone said this story has a lot of biblical parallels as well which is interesting. (Fontaine’s flood being an allegory to Noah’s Ark ((with Wrio’s boat being the ark)) and I think there were some last supper references. I saw it in a Twitter thread. Even Childe has some biblical parallels!) I am super excited to see where this goes.

Furina probably died and didn't tell him her plan which was originally to sacrifice herself, the word used was "devious" which means a skillful use of underhanded tactics to achieve goals. Her goal is to save the people from the prophecy.
Also, the part where something fell from the ceiling, and furina's hat fell, could it be where furina got executed? Her hair is also short (when she's wearing her ousia outfit) did a guillotine come cutting her hair off after she got beheaded?
The last part where she bids farewell to Neuvillette, did she meant it in an evil way or is she the one about to leave? I can't tell her intentions based on her intonations

I dont think furina will die. According to the prophecy, the hydro archon will be the only survivor of the calamity, she'll be crying on the remnants of her once lively nation.
I feel like this trial is more of a build up to the whole skirk+childe/flood/neuv's purpose plot, all coming down at once.
And another thing, I don't actually think that he's ever referred to Furina as "Focalor".
I feel like the "devious one" he's referring to is the past hydro archon, aka the one who gave him a quest to live with humans, and the real mastermind to this prophecy.
The thing that fell was probably a guillotine, but i feel like furina would survive that, because she isn't supposed to die according to the prophecy.
Lastly, i feel like the person talking to neuv was either the past hydro archon, or an awakened state of furina.

I cant understand how some people still think Neuvillette dislikes Furina and wants nothing to do with her, it’s quite clear that it’s the opposite. She’s the reason he has a purpose and why he loves Fontaine and its people. He finds her antics annoying at most, but he loves her dearly ( either familial or otherwise, up to the person )

2:09 It seems like Neuvilette was devastated seeing furina died (temporarily) in front of her. Also 2:01 cutscene when the furina trial starts, this is also connected at 2:09 from what I’ve seeing, and then 2:13 the Guillotine hits furina then she disappeared or died (temporarily), somehow the Whale got unleashed alongside with childe got escaped and is fighting the whale with his foul legacy.
2:21 and 2:27 and 2:30 is connected cutscene with neuvilette is sad and angry and unleash his power to flood fontaine or saved fontaine from flooding.
From his Idle Animation and his demo. He can control the power of water either he floods or reverts from flooding.

The last part of Fontaine was the best but others are not as good as Sumerus. If I'm talking about my best experience, its the Liyue Archon Quest is the best. The battle in the Jade Chamber after the duel vs Childe remains my best experience in Genshin.

Fantastically dramatic trailer with some excellent music, intense cuscenes, and juicy lore! Can't wait for this update to drop, and can't wait to see both Furina in action, and how the story of Fontaine will finish up!

If we go by the theory of the Oratrice being the ACTUAL Furina, it does make sense that Focalors would punish herself via death sentence in order to get her existence out of the way, and in return have Neuvilette gain total power of his draconic prowess.

i think the oratrice is actually focalor's consciousness like what wei said... i think all they are doing as for the bigger plot is to get revenge or try to defeat celestia because of the principles they have to follow and the dangers,and since if focalors's consciousness is in the oratrice, then it means that thats why childe was guilty to awaken the whale so at the end, Neuvillette will ascend

@@brisenocturne1441, I believe you might have misunderstood the comment. Neuvillette getting the gnosis will only mean that his powers can finally be full since the half of them are stored within the Hydro gnosis. He would never accept the position of an Archon (and I personally also doubt that Celestia would let a dragon sovereign to be one).
On the other hand, it's unlikely that he'll get his powers back at all. At least in the Fontain plot

Every new Fontaine trailer makes me think it's the best trailer they've released but this one might be actually be the best so far. The buildup and suspense in Fontaine's trailers is both fitting and perfectly done
I really wonder if Natlan will be able to surpass or even equal the quality of this last chapter of the archon quest.... This was so well executed and a true emotional roller coaster. Genshin's best quest truly, and we already had exeptional ones in Sumeru before.

Furina has the bubble spinning attack which reminds me of Dori’s attacks sitting on down as well! While Charlotte has a similar picture attack to Nahida as well. I like the callbacks to Sumeru characters.
Except unlike furina's.. Dora's cuts her feet off every time

natlan is great, i love it. but man…i really miss the fontaine days. id give anything to relive the fontaine era. i never thought i would be nostalgic for 2023
The animation to the voice acting to the music, all of these make the trailer look magnificent!
I love how there are only 2 two types of events now, one is like fun art projects that the devs are letting us experience and the other is whale mode difficulty but you can get the primo rewards easily. Also, all the quests are either short or interactive which keeps me interested. Fontaine is definitely the best region to play through so far in Genshin.
Don't forget QoL update every 4.x patch
Yeah, as a new player four months into the game Fontaine's exploration process has been the friendliest so far. I have caught up with the Mondstat and Liyue world quests and is now working on Inazuma side-by-side with Fontaine, and the old quests from Inazuma are downright frustrating compared to Fontaine.

The hydro archon is both the human Furina and Focalors. Focalors is either furina’s alternate personality or the person inside the oratrice. Focalors deceives Neuvilette and will be the one to get the death penalty

The new weekly boss narwal looks incredible, the emotion on Neuvillete's face, the shot of Fontaine underwater, Furina dancing, a mysterious new character, Childe, the new areas to explore, ugh everything is so gorgeous!!
