- The weather was looking good 🌄
I had the week off work 🍻
But sadly my friends are busy 😮💨
I decided it Time....
Time to face my fears and attempt my first solo hike and wild camp.
Wild camping and hiking alone both make me very anxious, but I feel ready.
So, Monday morning I drove to Padstow, Cornwall, to take on the Saints Way.
The Saints' Way Trail crosses mid-Cornwall from coast to coast. It covers approximately 30 miles/48 Km from the northern harbour town of Padstow to the southern port of Fowey.
The route starts at Padstow Church and heads south through Little Petherick, St Breock Downs and Lanivet. The trail then joins the Fowey River near Lostwithiel. You can then walk along the river before reaching Fowey. A shorter route is available approximately 11 miles long. This passes through the Tywardreath site of a medieval monastic settlement.
On this episode, I walk from Padstow to Lanlivery. Roughly 24.5 miles.
Join me on my journey, the highs, and the lows. The aches, the pains.

Amazing views. Great work sir facing your fear and getting the job done 💪💪👍🏼👍🏼
I'd have liked to have wild camped but I did what felt right at the time
Fasted hiking is great mate.
Yeh mate must get back on it again 👍
So very atmospheric and scenic, loving the visuals and composition here bud. Such a great hike🥾🥾
Thankyou for lovely comments. Glad you enjoyed it just editing part 2 🤣
My sleepingbag, rollmat and waterproofs are more bulky and weigh more than most people's whole packs!
I have bought a reasonably lightweight tent, 1.3kg, and that is as long as my daysack rucksack . . . which doesn't have straps at the bottom to hang it off!
You are not alone!
I will do some investigating and do a video with my finds lol. Nice to see iam not the only one
Hi there, i enjoy to look at the video, reminds me , when i decide to start hikking 3 years ago , like i had a 20 kg bag ... now i have a 10 kg bag in a 35 litres bag ... i will suggest 2 tricks to light it up your bag ... #1 if you put an item in your bag and you says " i take this in case of " ... you don t take it , you will find something else to use ... and #2 take muti purease material...
I hope that will help you ... keep doing it , you did a great job and i hope to see more long distance video of you !!!
Sincerely yours Luc from south of France !!!
Ahhh mate that's awesome advice. Iam glad you enjoyed. More videos to come soon I promise
you certainly did some miles, I remember walking down that hill and seeing the church tower knowing the campsite isn't far off now. The reason I first started wild camping was because I was finding on some trails there simply weren't any campsites where i wanted to stop lol
Yes I suprised myself on the first day. Was pretty sore on day 2 though lol. Just watch a load of your videos. Very much enjoyed them
@@marcjeffreypresents thanks, theres usually a lot that goes wrong in them lol
@@LezleysAdventures that's what people love
@@marcjeffreypresents I'm far too cynical to believe that lol
