- I dressed out of my comfort zone for an entire week of university.. and.. I can't believe I did it. I normally dress in really low maintenance outfits that are easy to put on like jeans, sweaters, sneakers, but this week I'll be trying to wear skirts, dresses, thigh high socks, heels!! Between almost having a nervous breakdown and freaking out over irrational things, I think it was a great experience to learn that most of your fears are all in your head! I was very inspired by other youtubers who have done this video, and for the outfit choices my inspiration was blair waldorf from gossip girl :)
I won't be posting a video next week because I have SIX assignments due...:( but I'll be back soon! xo

I completely understand the fear and the anxiety of being judged by others for being well dressed when they're in sweat pants.
But gurrrl, the thing is: we are not too dressed up, they are just too dressed down, and that is not our problem.
On the other hand, clothes are all about how they make us feel, so if an outfit is too much for you, you can slowly introduce those pieces alongside the ones that you're already comfortable using.
This way, you'll slowly build confidence in this style that you're aiming for, and also feel and look your best.
I honestly think you killed this style. The whole preppy, sophisticated vibe fits well in England.

The heart pounding and shortness of breath is the start of a panic attack. You can control it I've learnt to. Going out of the comfort zone definitely helps, just don't push it or tell yourself it was a bad experience or you'll feed the anxiety for next time. You wore it and you went and you smashed it. You came home and you were absolutely fine 😎👍 Fear is a part of doing something new and it's OK. I read a book called Feel the fear and do it anyway by Susan Jeffers and it is amazing for anxiety! 👍

Ah, you looked so good in these outfits! I think so many people (including myself) hold back on how they really want to dress out of fear of looking out of place or judgment. But seeing this video is just a breath of fresh air and makes me feel more confident to give it a go myself 🥰

When you describe your anxiety I feel like I can really relate. This past year when corona came and we had online classes I also developed some really bad social anxiety. Even my psychologist gave up on me, but watching your videos makes me feel better because I see that even with all those struggles you still make it through the day. hell yeah girl, i'm so glad you overcame your fear abt wearing those fits bc they were all so nice! and i can relate to not wearing a skirt/dress to school/in public for like... years. i dressed up (literally) for halloween this year and then i also wore a skirt next day and just... im so pleased with myself :D felt like big step. bc for years i thought skirts are too girly and i'd look too ugly etc etc... were more of y'all megan watchers like that? :"D

But watching you have that anxiety attack / palpatations just had to say you are honestly working so hard to push forward with your life and always put yourself out of your comfort zone (and you do it in an honest and not manufactured way. If you start feeling like that just breathe and know it's normal, you honestly inspire me to enjoy life and work hard every day xxx
Also I get the worst itchy scalp ever - the body shop's ginger scalp serum is a life changer! And if it's really itchy, lightly warm 1-2 tablespoons of oil (be really careful as too much will be hard to get out). Put half a lemon in it, rub it into scalp and ends of hair. Wrap your head all over in clingfilm and then put your hairdryer on it for five minutes. Then wrap it in a towel and leave it on for at least an hour. It's honestly incredible, it will sort it right out. To get the oil out, shampoo twice and use conditioner.
It reminds me of the time I visited the UK and stayed in Henley and loved wearing my winter outfits in the rain, walking down the streets of Oxford, going in for some mulled wine and drinking Starbucks, my day trip to Winter Wonderland - it gives me that excited, warm cozy feeling- so thank you so much for this vlog.

Imagine what kind of society we live in that women (men too.) are actually living in fear of dressing how they want. And the reasons aren’t stupid ever. It’s either judgement, unwanted attention etc.
My mother as I was growing up taught me that If my shoes prevent me from running (when I dress nice and go out alone) I shouldn’t wear them. She also told me to look in the mirror after putting on an outfit and ask myself “would they tell me it’s my fault for dressing like this if smth happend?”. I maanged to shake this one off with a therapist but the shoe thing stuck with me and it’s ingrained in my brain and unluckily 3 times already I thanked myself for wearing shoes that I was able to run in.

As a girl with curly hair I too have an itchy scalp. Look into a scalp scrub or cleanser. The itchiness can very well be from product build up. I suggest trying it at least once to twice a month. I use the curl talk scalp cleanser. You can also try scalp oils to promote a healthy scalp!

Tuesday is the only day in my medschool when we don’t have to wear scrubs so I wore a cute skirt and a cozy sweater, like dark academia vibes. It was very cute until after I opened the door of the building of my medschool to go home and the wind blew up my skirt and it went over my face in front of everyone including the doctors and patients (medschool is sharing then yard space with a big hospital) and all my classmates. On top of that I couldn’t get it down. It was stuck up bc of the strenght of the wind and I couldn’t get it down without help.

I love this idea! I also wear really basic clothes but I love blazers and layering shirts! But I'm definitely not confident enough to wear them in public 😭
I understand your anxiety, but it frustrates me so much that you feel the most anxious in clothes that look the best on you... I wish you could see yourself how I see you in those outfits, and in general too - bomb af looking, the most beautiful soul... Try a skort btw if you haven't yet, they seem kinda funny at first but wearing them in public gives me a peace of mind, for example going up the stairs with someone behind me etc. Or just thin/tight shorts under a regular skirt.
Okay, so I’m like you when it comes to trying to find remedies for a flaky scalp. Sometimes it’s so bad for me. I’ve tried so many products. However, my hairstylist told me recently because she never thought to ask when I would tell her how I get such a flaky and irritated scalp, ESPECIALLY around my hairline. Try shampooing your hair atleast 2-3 times when you wash (concentrating on your roots) then go in with conditioner once (applying mid shaft to ends). Especially if you only wash your hair 2-3 times a week, shampooing once is only getting the oils off your hair near your scalp. It isn’t fully cleansing which is causing the residual oil to clog the glands and creates irritation and flaking. Ever since I took her advice, it’s been night and day! So definitely try it. I always thought “lather rinse repeat” was a marketing scheme to use more shampoo but apparently not!
