As I said in the video, Thank you to Warell Dane for your contribution to music and for making the music that helped me through some dark times.

This is David, the singer for Kill Ritual... we are the band that is sharing the bill with Iced Earth and, until Warrel's death (RIP) Sanctuary. Great job with this song. You did it complete justice. Peace!
Bump this to the top.
Warrel Dane was unique, he’ll never be forgotten
Hey Anthony, beautiful tribute. I was in his solo band and we played this song live many times.I was recording his solo album when he passed away. He would have been proud
Thanks for your kind words
Best
Thiago Oliveira
Thiago Oliveira So sorry for you loss..
Thank you Bianca, I am still trying to understand all that´s happened and Warrel´s passage in my life. Not easy...
Thiago Oliveira I can only imagine...it's a blessing to meet and work with such a unique talent..and to get to be friends and lose him so soon...pffff...it must be so hard. But I really hope you get that solo album out...will you? I know many people are waiting for it and you guys worked hard and put your souls into it..I can't wait to listen to Shadow Work. Big hug from Romania, I hope to hear more from you in the future. God bless
9Thiago Oliveira
Great shadow work
This song, and really the entire Dead Heart in a Dead World album probably saved my life countless times over the last year, while trying to cope with a bitter divorce that left me with literally nothing but the clothes on my back. Nothing could have ever helped me through such a crushing and hopeless situation on such a deep and personal and meaningful level as much as this criminally underrated and underappreciated work of perfection created and brought to life by Warrel Dane, Jeff Loomis, and the rest of the band. Thank you Nevermore, and an enormous thank you to Anthony of TenSecondSongs for sharing your story and giving us this incredible rendition of an incredible masterpiece. You went far beyond just doing this song justice man, well done.
Yesterday I saw Jared Dines admit to having anxiety and panic attacks. Today I see you doing the same. Thank you. Each admission helps against the stigma. Particularly with men, who very often are raised to keep everything bottled up and not admit "weakness".
Hey Anthony!
Thank you for this amazing vocal perfromance and your kind words.
RIP Warrel Dane
did warrel dane die?

Dead Heart In a Dead World is in my top 5 albums of all time. Sadly I just stumbled upon your cover/tribute. Very, very, well done. Thank you for this...He is missed tremendously.
Excellent cover. The loss of Warrel Dane shocked me - I was holding out for a Nevermore reunion.
Maybe a Sanctuary or Nevermore bit will show up in one of your Ten Second Songs covers in the future?
Nevermore really incredible band warrel Dane one most incredible voices from the world music, I love this band your lirics are fantastic Rip Warrel Dane
Dignified presentation. Warrel was one of the greatest voices in history! Thanks!
Great song selection! You absolutely nailed it Anthony...can't believe I'm just seeing this video now. Warrel had maybe one of the most recognizable and unique voices in any genre...operatic, menacing, delicate, brutal...great tribute!
Nevermore to feel the pain..... RIP Warrel, tou will live forever in our heart and mind! Hail Nevermore!
The heart collector sang..And I won't be feeling hollow for so long :(
Thanks for sharing a bit of your story. Went through similar. God bless you and yours. Your xtremely talented. Be well.
From one vocalist to another.....I have severe bi-polar and it was VERY difficult to function let alone perform in front of others. It was as though I had been stripped of my soul and passion because I could not identify what was happening to me. This song is a BEAUTIFUL cover young man and you should be proud...your voice is FANTASTIC! Thanks so much for this video...you have mass talent, I love it.
hey, thanks for this. Warrel Dane deserves recognition, it's a shame that after he died, the metal world didn't even react. He was in the middle of recording his solo album and he was gonna do Sanctuary too... it's a great loss. He's my absolute favorite vocalist. My soundtrack to misery and introversion was Dreaming Neon Black.
So sad RIP Warrel Dane! Nevermore to feel the pain! Forever in our hearts, you never died!
Battle Angels forever 🤘
Almost 4 years since Warrel passed away and I miss him almost every day. One of the greatest metal vocalists of all time and hope he is chugging a liter of beer down in valhalla. Can't wait to meet you in the halls brother.
Wow. I was a fan of yours already via Ten Second Songs. But as a LOOONGtime Nevermore fan, I really, really love this tribute. "The Heart Collector" is easily and BY FAR the best of their "ballad" (for lack of a better term) type songs. The album Dead Heart in a Dead World should be a classic now in the eyes of metalheads around the world (in spite of the fact that many fans at the time considered it somewhat of a sellout because of the new inclusion of 7 string guitars... lol, fools) though it's only occasionally that I encounter someone who even knows the record.
In online discussions of Nevermore you see a common theme; people love the music, some LOVE Warrel's vocals, some TOLERATE them, and other DESPISE them. But the fact of the matter is, Warrel Dane and Jeff Loomis WERE Nevermore. With all due respect to Jim Sheppard and Van Williams, Warrel and Jeff were the only irreplaceable elements of that (as you said) CRIMINALLY underrated progressive metal band. I've found, though, that even those who dislike Warrel's vocal delivery always appreciate his thought-provoking lyrics. He was one of the greats. Here's hoping that more people will come to appreciate him in years to come. RIP, Warrel Dane.
Great vocals! Warrel would be proud of you!
Just now heard this.Nevermore was a band I grew up on in the late 90s early to mid 2000.Awesome job well done
Doing snow removal, stuck in a closed off cab for hours on end, had some good ol Nevermore, and the first 3 albums on some serious repeat. My little brother introduced em to me. When I found Sanctuary, it was a diamond in the rough, felt lucky binging to em, and was so excited to get my brother into Warrels previous band. Man, those notes he could hit. After that, Warrel became one of the all time fav. Not only for that metal af voice, but man his view on this corrupted world and it's everlasting tragedies, it spoke to me. Rip Mr. Dane \m/ long live Rock and Metal.
The greatest voice in metal history, R.I.P Warrel
Deserved homage to a distinct vocalist RIP Warrel greet from Brazil
My uncle was in Nevermore with Warrel Dane. R.I.P
Morrigan Miller who is your uncle
REDnEDD Steve Smyth
Cool story.
Awesome guy!
I played one of his songs a bunch of times. Sold My Heart for stones
The record Nevermore did with your uncle is my favorite of their's :) He's a great guitarist!
Great video. Warrel was a master to me, of everything he conveyed. His lyrics and his delivery of them are insanely moving
Now this is what RUclips is for! Absolutely outstanding! Well done. Keep up the amazing content.
Most underrated band of all time.
Got chills bro.. excellent work
you couldn't say it better they are criminally underrated
Great! Words you said in the beginning were so true. Rip Warrel Dane.
Beautifull tribute. Warrel never will be forget!
absolutely amazing wonderful job ! . i have the same issues with anxiety and i turn to their music also
Wonderful cover of the great Warrel Dane.....you are a hell of a singer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep up the great work!!!
Amazing. You put your own heart in this I can tell. Thanx for share your story and for this beautiful tribute to the incredible Warrell. Cheers from Argentina.
Whoa, I recognized this song right away. I had it in my old songs to learn how to play for guitar folder from years ago. Great song and great band. Sorry to hear about Dane.
Brilliant tribute Anthony, you really did it justice.
"Criminally underrated" is a pretty spot-on analysis of Nevermore. They were truly a breath of fresh air in the metal world and Warrel will be dearly missed.
May his legacy live on forever \m/
You are an inspiration, and you did it more than justice, very very well done.
Awesome tribute sir! Warrel may be gone but will never be forgotten! R.I.P Warrel Dane
I always prepare to cringe at metal vocal covers but goddamn you crushed it. Great job!
Amazing tribute!! R.I.P Warrel...
You can definitely tell Anthony poured his heart and soul into this cover. Outstanding.
Nevermore are hands down my favorite band and warrel dane was an amazing singer. So much heart depth in his voice and lyrics. He will be missed. May he rest in peace.
"Criminally underrated" My words exactly when describing them to friends! Not enough people know of or appreciate the talent of that band as a whole. Great job with the cover!
R.I.P Warrel!
Yeah "criminally underrated" is a perfect way to put it imo as well. Maybe they weren't in a trendy genre of the moment or whatever, but they stayed true to their style and never disappointed. Still one of my favorite bands ever, awesome music that is still in regular rotation on my playlists.
RIP Warrel
Such an amazing person you've become!!!
greatful, greatfull, beaultiful. beautiful interpretation. Congratulations!
Great tribute, thank you!
you feel the music, you feel the melancholy, you have the right voice, only a bit more aggression...thanks for your great video, performance and skill
Well done, and a fitting tribute indeed. Another heart got collected too early on the 13th. of December.
Very good singing! Nevermore always will have a special place in my heart too! RIP Dane.
I hope you're feeling all better now since you opened up to us about your mental health 🙏 I have never heard of this band before as I was born way laterr but this cover is beautiful. I might have teared up a bit...
That was really good. I was skeptical when I first opened the video, but no, I was wrong. Great cover!
This song makes me cry. It reminds of the time it came out.
Respect
Nevermore and Warrel both hold a really special spot in my heart for very similar reasons. So very saddened by Warrel's passing. You nailed this, excellent job. Warrel would be very proud.
Very very well done! Fantastic ❤
Amazing. Thank you so much. As you Nevermore helped me heal in a very dark part of my life.
Wonderful vocals. 🤟🏼👍🏻
Fantastic cover man! Really good. Dane would be honored and proud. I'm gonna have to try to sing this one myself haha!
This is amazing!!
Can't believe i'm just watching this now!
Warrel's art is immortal!
I can see you're singing with your heart, thats an amazing cover!!
I had the chance to sing 'believe in nothing' in an event here in Brazil during Warrell Dane's album 'shadow work' (released after his passing) and i was a really special moment of my life that i'll remember forever!
I never comment on videos but I had to now. I have been a Warrel/Nevermore fan for a long time and am blown away with your cover. Fucking excellent work man! There are moments when you sound just like him. You nailed all his "Warrel-isms."
Great job. Such heart and compassion. It touched me in a very similar way that Warrel did. WOW. Thank you for this tribute.
Wow man, you fkn nailed it. Nevermore is one of my favorite bands. DNB was the first LP I heard and Tim Calvert, who also died is one of my favorite guitar players. That was the best Nevermore covers Ive ever heard.
Somebody get this guy a fucking band!! Got gose bumps... You're fucking awesome!
That was amazing and beautiful Ant 😌🎶🎤 I've been dealing with trauma based anxiety & panic attacks (which may, in part, explain some of my weird tweets 😕) Your music and your work has helped me more than you know. Thank you for being the awesome person that you are 😊😽💕
This definitely brought the emotions back again of hearing the news. Dreaming Neon Black was my first Nevermore disc, first real exposure to Warrel, and he never left as a hero since. This was a terrific tribute brought all the more real by your story. Nevermore was emotion accented and made more real by Warrel's voice, and the emotion was written all over yours. Thanks for this, Anthony.
This is by far your best cover.
You did an amazing job.
Thank you Warrel...
Awesome job man! Yes I've never heard of Warrel Dane until this last year. Next to Ronnie James Dio he's my favorite singer now.
I met him in end of the 90s before a concert in Stuttgart, we had a small chat, he was a cool grounded dude!
That's amazing. You're so varied in your influences and talents, I would never have guessed you're a Nevermore fan. Thanks so much for this cover and the personal story.
Superb cover. I'm sure Warrel would've thought so too
Awesome cover brother!!
Thanks for the awesome tribute and for sharing your story. I'm sure many of us who are longtime fans of his have similar ones, my own discovering them through Dreaming Neon Black in '99 and that album similarly being a soundtrack through rough times; it remains one of my all-time favorite albums to this day. Warrel Dane's unique voice, perhaps an acquired taste, but unequaled in his ability to express passion and pain, vulnerability and aggression all simultaneously. This song, too, I feel like may be the best tribute to him, knowing what little I did about his life and struggles, seems to encapsulate all of that and his contribution to the world. Great work man.
Thank you so much for doing this. Extremely underrated and wickedly talented vocalist. RIP, Warrel...
It really didn't hit me until I watched this. Thanks for helping me grieve.
Thanks for this Anthony. You and I share a similar story of our highschool days all that time ago, with Nevermore being that sweet relief and help though those dark times. Great job, Warrel would have loved this.
I wanted to add, My little Brother Max passed away a short while ago and His Love for Warrel and Nevermore was Huge too. It helped Him many times in His struggles, He related to Warrel completely.
Thanks for that brother! Great job
Awesome Job! You nailed it dude!
Awesome tribute Brother. . had a chance to talk to Warrel backstage At Harpo's in Detroit in 97... We talked one on one for an hour.. He told me RUSH was his early influence to sing high....He even told me he had sex with Annake from the Gathering LMAO... Warrel is my Hero ...I will be posting my vocal version of Dreaming neon black real soon.... cheers
Like I wasn't sad enough already , he had sex with Anneke ( My all time favourite female singer ....)) ?? Fuck it ! ;-)
Well said and very well sung! I agree that, while Warrel Dane did realize some success during his lifetime, he will more likely be considered, and realized posthumously, as the lyrical Van Gogh of our time. As you've pointed out, It's almost shameful how underrated he and Nevermore was and still is!
Thank you so much for your story and the awesome tribute to such a monster-talent as Warrel & Nevermore as a whole!
My respect to you Anthony! Warrel Dane should be proud!
It's beautiful I'm crying😍😭
beautiful voice
Great cover, you did it justice definitely (as did Yunus) Its so emotional I'm tearing up. RIP Warrel
Bravo great job
My god how did I just find this? He was one of my favorite singers ever, up there with Dio, Freddie, Myles Kennedy... A true legend, dreamed of seeing him perform but never got to it. Thank you for this!
Awesome. Thanks for sharing. Keep up the good work.
CHeers from Brazil
RIP (DEP) Warrel Dane. The heavy metal fans don't will forget you never
Wonderful Job!
that was awesome..
Perfect.
Well done, sir. Well done.
Hell of a tribute...this is the first video of yours I've seen and you have a fantastic voice. This Nevermore fan is impressed and I'm sure Warrel would be too!
Fantastic vocal cover man🔥
