The funny thing is, I’m really not big into most “k-pop”. A lot of it is too bubble gum for me. I like some BTS and love K/DA, but I am absolutely obsessed with BLACKPINK. I literally listen to them every day and watch reactions like yours constantly. They are so unique to me. I think part of it is that there are only four of them, while many k-pop groups have 7-10 members. But with four, you get to “know” them so personally. And all four of these girls are not only incredibly talented performers, they are even more incredible as human beings. You should watch their reality stuff like BLACKPINK House and 24/365. You can’t help but fall in love with them as people. You know how The Beatles were four guys who just happened to grow up in the same town and found each other to make the greatest pop rock group of all time, these four girls happened to be put together and what arose is something greater than the sum of all of the parts.
Totally get you i wasnt into Kpop that much aswell because i thought there is to much Bumble gum pop but if you are interested there are alot of Artists who are so far away from that and make insanely good music
This is how it started for me too. At first it was only Blackpink and i was quite sure, i only like them. Now some months later the list is like Blackpink, Dreamcatcher, Mamamoo, (G)-Idle, Everglow, CLC, Loona, Akmu, Jessi, Yezi and it seems to grow from month to month ;) There are a lot of great korean groups and/or artists and a lot of them are not necessarily what you would expect from pop if you only know western pop.
Yup when you talk about the impact K-Pop is having on you wanting to learn the language and understand culture differences that is how I feel about K-Pop as well. It's like being transported to another world for me that I just want to learn more and more about.
@@danwlfn wow I did not realize it was said then as well, that is amazing. Thank you! I know I have heard from other artists/ tv show host in recent years. Kpop was never a genre to begin with. people other than Korean didn't know much about Kpop so that they would just see it or take it as a new genre to them. however, decades after the beginning of Kpop was started, there have been more and more people around the world getting to know what Kpop is, people are starting to treat Kpop just another pop music but sung in Korean. maybe there are some differences or uniqueness when it comes to Kpop, nevertheless, Kpop is no longer a new genre in music to most people around the world.
@@lomahtw it was a easy title that fans were calling it but it has become a movement of music. Yes, Korean music used to only be in Korea but as soon as they decided they wanted to expand westward they added more English words to include everybody, it was just easier to say ‘Kpop’ but soon after they even started rewriting their songs to be in Japanese/having songs all in English… And that was the start of movement of kpop…it is growing and it is one of the most diverse groups. *BLACKPINK: JOURNEY AND FRIENDSHIP* is a great RUclips documentary, the girls themselves speak with more detail about their difficult training, how they rely on each other and their love for BLINKS, it's a must-see for new BLINKS (and I still get choked up every time I watch it!). Also, Lisa had a very different and difficult journey. Being a non-Korean she faced many difficulties, being a non-Korean in an almost strictly Korean genre, not being able to speak the language, racist comments, etc. made her journey very difficult. I highly recommend *LALISA: A DOCUMENTARY FILM* which was made for her birthday last year. The production is almost movie quality, it's a beautiful picture of what it means to follow your dreams, no matter what.
Great reaction - I love how you went and saw Light Up the Sky and was able to relate to the song in a way that you didn't in their earlier reactions. I've been a Blink since 2019, when I first caught them at Coachella and love seeing baby Blinks fall in love with the girls the way we have. One thing I'd like to see you react to - their cover of Miguel's Sure Thing that they performed at SBS Party People back in 2017. It is the song that tipped me over into being a Blink, and might be a great introduction as to how the girls harmonize and perform live on stage. Looking forward to your next reaction, whatever it might be!
My favorite Kpop songs of all-time are this and Playing with Fire. Great songs and also the songs that made me a BLINK when they only had 4 songs. BLACKPINK brought me back to Kpop for good (former low key fan of a few 1st gen Kpop girl groups back in my anime days). The documentary surprised me back when it dropped because I learned how they had to push to get label to allow them to debut with such an unusual song they weren't sure would chart well. I already knew it had hit #1 on Gaon chart in Korea and got them their record of fastest weekly music show trophy for a girl group 13 days after group debut. Boombayah was the more popular song in the West, being #1 Whistle #2 on the Billboard world digital songs chart. This is the only BLACKPINK MV that used any noteworthy amount of CG unless you count Rose's solo with the meteorite. The old Hollywood type practical effects, sets and occasional projection screens is a reason I love their MVs. Teddy turned down Lady Gaga at some point before they debuted, partially because he only likes to work with people he knows really well to make songs that fit them. My playlist all music videos in order "All BLACKPINK MVs chronological rEvolution 블랙핑크" ruclips.net/p/PLQNSCrE3p8j4AWx2bpS5Wd2mz8HGTK-PP My chronological playlist "All BLACKPINK b-sides 블랙핑크의 B면" ruclips.net/p/PLQNSCrE3p8j5mkbpNKwkR_X8n93Qpa1pr Used dance practices and concert clips since these don't have music videos. I wanna say thank u for watching Blackpink documentary,,idk why? As a Blink i just respect u for what u do and think about them(BP).. so respectfull ..*well people should be like that right? ..hehe Thanks 👍😎
If you feel their stage presence in the MVs, you should react to them live. Try the Ddu-du Ddu-du Coachella performance (rock vibes with live band) or the Ddu-du Ddu-du remix in Tokyo Dome (it really is a remix and no choreography, so you can really see how their stage presence goes without the props)
it's okay to pause! don't mind the harsh comments. first of all, i really love when you said "they really do compliment each other so well" because it's true ! that's what makes them so special to me. i don't know if you know this but they're one of the only few kpop groups who doesn't have an official leader cause honestly they don't need one. the teamwork and the friendship are already there and that's what they all need + their chemistry as a group will never fail to amaze me, they are already powerful as individuals but when they're together as a group, they're unstoppable. by the way, thank you for taking the time to get to know these 4 amazing women. they're really great, kind and sooo humble and i will never stop talking about that.
the "blackpink: journey and friendship" is definitely a must watch, it's a fan-made short documentary (?) and i hope you to react to it someday! no pressure tho!
LOL I also went through a phase of wanting to learn Korean after I discovered BLACKPINK/Kpop. It's such a fun and different culture from what I'm used to. Dude, I’ve been watching your BP reactions and just wanted to let you know I really appreciate that you get it. These women are special. Each of them could easily stand on their own as an artist but together they form this incredible powerhouse. They compliment each other so well and the beauty of it is that they also get it. They love each other as sisters and after years of training and living together they’re killing it together. Anyways, will keep watching your journey. Now that you’ve watched the Netflix documentary on your own would be fun to see you react to a guide. Unhelpful Guide to Blackpink 2019 or Crack Guide to Blackpink 2020. The latter is my personal preference just cuz it’s newer but I’m down with either. Thx.
True story: This video got me to lose nearly 50 pounds. I was a couch potato, knowing I should start going back to the gym when I saw this video, and they looked like they were having so much fun and looked so free in their bodies that something clicked inside of me and I thought, “I need to get back to that.” The next day I started walking every morning. 🖤💖
I know this is an old comment, but thats fucking BOSS! Hope you kept it up, or you are at least satisfied where you are now :) Wanting to get healthier is one of the best aspirations anyone can have :D
For more insight into the culture watch BTS Spring Day MV and then watch the explained video by Italian Army. Huge Blink here who also got drawn into the culture through the music.
What you mentioned that why I love 🖤💗. They have no leader..Four girls they got talented , got different personalities and where thy from but when it cone to the music and the arts of performance, Four of them compliments to each other’s . It’s phenomenal and realistic. And Teddy the Director he knew his four girls .. I love 🖤💗 and BLINKS love you too ..
Welcome to the world of BLINKS, mate. Now that you're In, dig deeper into KPop space. I reckon you're gonna like reacting to Dreamcatcher's MVs Scream, Boca, Odd Eye and more. Enjoy!
ditto for me...it is not just about the music, but understanding the culture makes it much more meaningful and gives you a deeper understanding of the genre. It seems to culture a whole new mindset in you. When you first listen to say BOOMBAYAH, what may seem like random words such as 'Oppa' use by girls in South Korea to refer to an "an older brother", but also when a girl is calling a man 'Oppa', he feels that he can get closer to her more easily. Knowing not only what the term means, but how it is used, gives the line in the music, a whole new meaning. It has been stated that the song Boombayah was originally called 'Oppa-yah', but Kim Jisoo saved it and said Boombayah, cuz 'Oppa-yah' sounded too cringy, and she was right. She also happens to be my bias. sooyaaa, our chichu...🐇🐢👸 You will see why in time and you get to know the girls. You mentioned in your reaction to 'Stay' that you enjoyed being able to just hear the girls and their vocal expertise. I recommend checking out their.. 'SURE THING (Miguel)' COVER 0812 SBS PARTY PEOPLE' to compliment 'Stay" and really shows off their vocal abilities if you haven't already done so. Giving a SHOUT OUT 🖐 to all Blinks around the World. God bless🙏 Peace out. ✌
blackpink is amazing as always... and i'm so apreciated the fact that you are enjoying the cultures and music itself instead of getting some more view for the youtube channel !!♡♡ I liek your reaction so much !!!!!! keep up the good work !!!♡♡♡
8:12 You just described DESTINY'S CHILD. It's a shame but true. In America the first thing we do when we see groups is pick out the person who would make a good solo artist. 👍
Blackpink is not like the other girl group ☺️ they have something that can make people like or love them or their songs. Coz I my self don't like kpop🤗 but since I show their music video 💖 I begin wanted to know them more so here I'm 😊 I'm a BLINKS 💞💞💞
Blackpink is my favorite group of all time. I’m glad you’re genuinely checking them out. You’ll find that every group is talented in this industry bc they all have to go through training. With that being said I’d like to recommend my 2nd favorite group Dreamcatcher (girl group), if you’re a fan of rock influenced music you’ll love them. Their latest song is called Odd Eye. Thanks for supporting Blackpink, & BTS 👋🏾 p.s. I’m not a BTS stan (yet) but of course I know them, & seeing you come to understand their journey made me subscribe yesterday. 👍🏾
While learning the Korean language is a long task, I might suggest if you'r going to watch multiple Kpop groups with less easy to pronounce names than this group, it might be really helpful to take a day or two to learn the Korean writing system hangeul, there are some exceptions in pronunciation mostly involving certain final consonants (batchim) of syllables becoming devoiced sometimes based on following letter (English and many languages do this too), but it's pretty easy to get down the basics and then you'll be able to pronounce most idols names when you see them in hangeul.
I don't understand people who come to a REACTION channel and complain when the person stops the song to REACT and talks about what they think about what they're watching, I reeaaally don't! If you wanna see the MV or song without pauses, GO WATCH THE OFFICIAL SONG/VIDEO!!! Dafuq these people are so annoying!!!!! I love your reactions, you're happiness is contagious!!!!!!!!!!
Rewatching They had to fight for this to be their Debut song. And it's Jisoo who is whistling as you saw in Light Up The Sky An interesting aside...Jisoo is a passanger on the bicycle, because she didn't know how to ride.
Girls Generation -- remember that name. It is easy to say so many excellent things about BlackPink, for sure, and I'm certain I've seen and | or heard everything they have done ... and will again and again. And you could spend a good portion of the rest of your life living out the evolution of k-pop. That said, I think you really have to see the wonder of what the proverbial K-Pop primordial soup created in the form of the group "Girls Generation" to really understand how great "Great" can be.
Please watch Ddu du ddu du music video and live Coachella performance of it. This is the song that really caused them to blow up internationally… so I don’t know if these are new blinks out here recommending but bc of the “ddu du ddu du” music video they blew up. This was their first to hit 1 billion and the production of this one is so much fun and guarantee this and “kill this love” seriously these two songs before the album came out last year were the go to videos to really see what makes them special and people yearning for more… PLEASE check these Ddu du ddu du music video Ddu du ddu du live at Coachella Kill this love - music video the Lara Croft theme is everything for me z😂 Kill this love - live from Coachella

Welcome to the world of BLINKS, mate. Now that you're In, dig deeper into KPop space. I reckon you're gonna like reacting to Dreamcatcher's MVs Scream, Boca, Odd Eye and more. Enjoy!
You gonna like blackpink playing with fire, the beat is insane no 1..
The BLACKPINK rabbit hole is very deep. You're going to want to watch BLACKPINK House, BLACKPINK Diaries, and 24/365 as well.
I love your reaction. I would like to watch you reacting for more blackpink videos ☺
Check out the Japanese version of Whistle. The raps are in English.
I love the fact you really appreciate the music, the group and the culture as a whole. That's awesome. Welcome to the Hallyu Wave~~~~ 👍

Lisa is amazing everyday
휘파람♥♥k-pop 입덕축하. .
ditto for me...it is not just about the music, but understanding the culture makes it much more meaningful and gives you a deeper understanding of the genre. ✌
blackpink is the revolution 👑❤
blackpink is amazing as always... and i'm so apreciated the fact that you are enjoying the cultures and music itself instead of getting some more view for the youtube channel !!♡♡ I liek your reaction so much !!!!!! keep up the good work !!!♡♡♡

Welcome to the blinks and the world of K-pop. You should watch the
Revolution of Blackpink video
Blackpink ❤️🔥
8:12 You just described DESTINY'S CHILD. It's a shame but true. In America the first thing we do when we see groups is pick out the person who would make a good solo artist. 👍
Dope!🤩🤩👍👍
PLS REACT TO THE REVOLUTION: A STORY OF BLACKPINK

Lisa😍
Yes i am stan in here if you react blackpink ❤️
Blackpink is my favorite group of all time. I’m glad you’re genuinely checking them out. You’ll find that every group is talented in this industry bc they all have to go through training. With that being said I’d like to recommend my 2nd favorite group Dreamcatcher (girl group), if you’re a fan of rock influenced music you’ll love them. Their latest song is called Odd Eye.
Thanks for supporting Blackpink, & BTS 👋🏾
Please react to Taemin's MV Advice. I think you will really like it!
React to lovesick girls
" Du ddu du ddu " don't miss it to reaction this
In this video members sitting on the earth means they knew they were going to take over the world
I don't understand people who come to a REACTION channel and complain when the person stops the song to REACT and talks about what they think about what they're watching, I reeaaally don't! If you wanna see the MV or song without pauses, GO WATCH THE OFFICIAL SONG/VIDEO!!! Dafuq these people are so annoying!!!!!
I love your reactions, you're happiness is contagious!!!!!!!!!!
Nice reaction! 🙌🖤💖
Moreeee!!!
Rewatching
They had to fight for this to be their Debut song. And it's Jisoo who is whistling as you saw in Light Up The Sky
An interesting aside...Jisoo is a passanger on the bicycle, because she didn't know how to ride.
the fact is this whistle in the song belongs to Jisoo its amazing !!!
Dreamcatcher is other group 🔥
This was their first to hit 1 billion and the production of this one is so much fun and guarantee this and “kill this love” seriously these two songs before the album came out last year were the go to videos to really see what makes them special and people yearning for more… PLEASE check these
