It always comes back to that duality. They are pretty. They are savage. What's not to love! - side note, I really do hope you'll continue checking out their behind the scenes as well. Even without proper subtitles (though many of their later stuff do have them) it's just fun to see the girls as themselves goofing about.

You really need to watch the Behind the scenes, making of the MV, and Blackpink reacting to their video. For this song them reacting to the video, they explain that all of the scenes in front of the yellow building were not in the script. During a break Lisa got cotton candy and did the side to side head thing and the other girls loved it and made the producer put it in the video and they added a bunch of scenes from there and the Jennie eating ice cream in front of the Jennie's Ice Cream truck was the same. These 4 girls are so special. I believe they are the real life realization of the plot of Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure where Bill & Ted come up with a musical concept that unites the entire world. This is actually what Blackpink is doing.

This song is a perfect example of how well Korean Popular music, uses the mix of both Korean and English in the verses like poetry to make the words to the song blend so well. If this was done in either English or Korean alone, it would not have achieved the same harmony as it does. BTW the thumb and finger cross is the 'Heart' sign, that Jennie and Jisso show at 10:59 and you will see a lot in Korean culture. Didn't look at all the comments so maybe already mentioned but, they spell out LOVE with their fingers in the last shot of the video.

This is hands down my favorite BlackPink song. While their harder songs seem to be more popular, they remind me too much of a lot of Western music that tries to be tough or edgy. Give me music thats cheerful and upbeat any day of the week.
