Lara (Angelina Jolie) takes a stand after Terry (Gerard Butler) decides to take Pandora's Box away from its place at the Cradle of Life.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
This sequel to the 2001 hit video-game adaptation Lara Croft: Tomb Raider finds Jan de Bont stepping in for director Simon West, helming his first feature since 1999's The Haunting. From a script by first-time scribe Dean Georgaris, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life finds Angelina Jolie once again portraying the titular curvaceous adventurer. But where the first film saw Croft in a race against the Illuminati to acquire an elusive relic that offers control over life and death, this entry in the series follows the heroine as she ventures to an underwater temple in search of the mythological Pandora's Box. Unfortunately, once she secures the legendary artifact, it is promptly stolen by the villainous leader of a Chinese crime syndicate. It is then up to Lara to get the box back before an evil mastermind gets hold of it and uses it to construct a weapon of catastrophic capabilities. Gerard Butler, Djimon Hounsou, and Noah Taylor head up the supporting cast.

This scene is so emotional because she was falling in love for him but she realizes his betrayal. And she cries because he was pushing to a point she would have to kill him 💔 to save the world.
Like early in the movie, she said to him she is not cuffing him to the bed because she couldn't kill him. She did because she could 💔💔💔

I really liked this scene and I LOVE the sentimental music...I watched this movie when I was a kid,and now seeing this more than 10 years later gives me a lot of nostalgia.

She had picked up a gun off the cave floor, then stood up to face him. When she said no to his statement, he replies with, then and pulls his gun. She already had the other gun ready in her hand. He wanted the power of the treasure more than her. She chose to save the world, like all great heroes do
yea but at 1:07 she shows here right hand and it doesnt hva a gun in it, little consistency error.
He was going to shot her, I’m shocked.
I love scenes like this. The audience thinks they know whats going to happen but the complete opposite of what they thought happens instead.
0:52 he hits her and we know Lara can take it, she gets beat up all the time fighting bad guys
But in this moment specially she is being hit by someone she likes, it is ugly to see a man hitting a woman
I think a lot of people misinterpret this scene and think she's crying because he hit her . . . we all know Lara would never cry just because she got slapped . . she's crying because he's left her no choice but to kill him now, and she did once care for him . . it's the "could have beens" in our lives that hurt the most . .
Not ONLY that but she knew and suspected this would be the outcome the entire time. She kept calling him out and kept trying to end their partnership before coming here because she knew he'd make the wrong choice at the end, and she was right. At this point she have to make a choice because the line when he said “ your not going to choose them or me” and she is thinking like “ you’re not going to choose a box over me”.

I always get emotional when this happens. Why did it have to end like that? Everything lara and terry went through during the film and now this happens.
This is a sad scene for sure but he just wouldn’t listen. Also the first movie had a predictable ending, they wanted to surprise us with this one.
Tigress had to kill Dracula to save the world. She knew it had to be done since he wanted it to himself and he would kill her for it.

She was beautiful in these movies. Tomb Raider and Alexander were her best roles. She's still young today, but she had something in her back then. She's a mother now. It's not the same.

Ah, this movie was never known. When Angelina and Gerard acted together, we don't remember just watching a movie in my house, haha. I want to see it again. I like the couple. Enjoying, enjoying, very fun.

I wouldnt say brains since he didnt use his to save his life.
All in all, that's far from being a great movie but the acting from Butler as well as Jolie saved the day. Honestly i find it quite sick cuz i just watched this video and i'm like that tune has some similar sounds with the Infinity war soundtrack when Gamora dies on Vormir. Boom i google now who composed the tomb raider original score and it's none other than the great Alan Silvestri who also created the EPIC MUSIC for the Avengers saga👌👌
People forget how he's been doing his thing since way back in time. A perfect example that comes to my mind would be Forrest Gump, what a beautiful soundtrack...

Even though this movie isn't great, I wished mainstream blockbusters had moments like this, where one of the protagonists was fundamentally flawed.
Instead of just being with Lara Terry just HAD to make the wrong choice and tried to take that dangerous box out of the cave for damn money🙄
It reminds me of when Imhotep lost His powers in The Mummy Returns,instead of leaving with Anck Su Namun after She begged Him not to try and fight/kill The Scorpion King as a mortal, He still chose to do so anyway, like Imhotep Terry chose the selfish desires of His own heart over the woman He loved

Terry's a complicated guy, but I don't get why the filmmakers turned a likeable anti-hero into a complete asshole & moron in the very end. he helped Lara achieve the mission, so he'll get $5M & a new identity. there's no need to obtain an ancient bioweapon & sell it to the highest bidder! that's just insane! movie did a complete 180 on the character! it makes no sense!
joe mammon it's not unbelievable. You can tell he's a pretty lousy guy from his dialogue throughout the movie. He's a dick to her buddies, he says betraying his men didn't bother him.
Yeah honestly I think Terry's sudden change of heart and Lara killing Him was more for shock value than anything else

Ah... just a small question... when she fell to the ground, there is gun so she picked up the gun, but we can see both her hands are empty after she gets up. there is no gun in her hands. and though both of them have camera close to their heads. TERRY can see both her hands and this is just dumb move by the makers of the movie to ruin this scene.
Whoever played Tomb Raider games even once,knew that the moment she fell on the ground she had the gun,no explanation is needed.
You're sort of right, but I guess we're supposed to suspend our disbelief and just accept she managed to pick up the gun and hide it in the back of her pants without Terry noticing and then wiping it out and firing at the speed of light. Also, Terry is shown standing very close to her and looking right in her eyes, so that limits his field of view, plus it was an emotional word exchange for both of them, which could slightly limit his response.

I guess this enhances even more the metaphor.

No it didn't. He's a mercenary and throught out the movie he leaves it clear that he has no regrets regarding it, actually, he wanted to remain a soldier who worked in the name of the biggest reward alongside Lara, he wanted to give up her ideals.
