I wonder if parts of this song are inspired by their own relationship. In a recent interview they did, they both mentioned how they had a big fight while making this album and how Finneas felt like he didn’t want to make music anymore. This song says “say you wanna quit, don’t be stupid” and it instantly made me think of that. Ofc this song can be interpreted as romantic too, but I think it can easily fit other types of love as well.
