    Hi there, I am from Adelaide and currently I am going through a rough time having to watch as my dad slips away from the family. One thing he loved and cared for (besides his kids) was his lawn. Loved watching this video man. I really want to try hard to get my dad's old front and back lawns back up to par as a sort of memento. Thanks for the great videos :)

    Everything but the roundup looked ok. I personally "turf cut" the top inch and remove, blow off surface, turf cut again an inch and a half if I got a weak power rake or weak tiller and/or depending on the ground, then do grade-work and slight compaction, then seed drill or equivalent down a 1/4 to a 1/2 inch max. Keep Moist, no straw unless I know there's absolutely no weeds in it.

    i'm just started getting into lawn care as i like mowing and whipper snipping so much( its relaxing for me besides my back get really sore after). my back lawn is looking so much better after just mowing it every 5 days or so, the lawn has come to life and soft under foot and i haven't done much to it at all. but the font needs to be worked on a lot as its full on bindis and other weeds. so i think i might over seed the back plus a huge patch where the last people here had a huge shed and now its just a dirt patch thats got weeds growing out. then get some bindi killer and take out all the other weeds then over seed it and sort out a dirt patch too. But i'm just a noobie but am willing to learn and loving the results i am getting from just mowing too.

    • @sabriath
      @sabriath 5 лет назад +1

      yes, and? It kills any dormant weeds/seedlings that might be lurking in the under-soil, glyphosate-ready grass is probably used so it doesn't get harmed. Most weeds have a longer root structure than grass, so any weed that would grow into the glyphosate layer would hypothetically die, but since it drains over time, this is only valid for the first month or so depending on weather.
      You may have your reasons to not like it, but weeds starve the surrounding grass of nutrients over time, eventually leaving dead spots and compacted soil.....so to each their own I guess.

      @@SteveBueche1027 ....do you plan on turning the soil and licking the underside? Even then, you'd need to lick the entire yard before you get about 10% chance of cancer......fear is strong with you I assume. Are you scared to leave your home because you read a statistic about car accidents? Or bee stings?
      Ridiculous.....just use a proper sprayer and not upwind, all chemicals in this world are bad when you take it to the head.
