This vid was the deciding factor on whether I get a machine. I'm not too artsy or into scrapbooking so it's all "Greek" to me. I do, however, send cards to military & seniors and want to start making my own..You showed that this thing isn't something to be afraid of and that it's pretty easy to use. Thank you!

There's little holes in the dies. You use a pokey tool or a pin to stick through the hole to get the paper out of the die. Be careful not to force it through. I usually use a pin, because I can't find my pokey tool. The sticky side of your tool is mostly to pick up beads or to pick up small pieces of paper to glue or something. But I really enjoyed your tutorial. Thank you.

It's amazing how many dies I've seen on sale and clearanced even. As well as the Big Shot, but wouldn't purchase it. However, as I'm watching your video, I'm seeing how much money I can save from never having to purchase die cuts again! This thing pays for itself

What is the machine name?
Hi. How can u tell the cut side please. I just recieved this machine
The side of the die with raised areas is the side that will cut. You can sandwich either way I think, but I usually put paper then my doe on top with the raised side down.

Yes. I cut snowflakes out of glittered cardstock with mine.

I think most metal dies are universal. I've never had a die that doesn't work for me. I hope this helps.

Hi, thanks for sharing. I always see videos of the cuts but never the machines in action. I just may get me one. I have a cricut and I thought the same,... why get one if I already have a cutting machine. It just look more convenient to have a portable cutter.

Hi ,I have just bought a mixed media die from crafters companion ,I have a Sizzex big shot .Can u help ,,which one of the tabs on the machine to cut with this die,ran it through on paper on the green tab and thought I had broken my plate
If its a thin die, use the platform closed with both of the clear plates. Sandwich your paper and die between the two clear plates. It will sound like something is breaking. In the video there is a loud cracking noise when I run the die through. As long as you setup like the example shown on the platform if you have the example, it should be fine.

so I have the cricut maker but seems like some of the dies give a raised or layered or 3d effect that you do not get with the cricut?
Unfortunately, I don't know enough about the Cricut Maker to answer what I think you are asking.
@@scrapcraftastic ok does the sizzix big shot give cardstock a 3d effect?
If the dies you use are dimensional then yes but you would have to layer them manually. The Bigshot can only cut from what ever die you rin through it. So it depends on the dies.
Also meant to ask: Is that Big shot the 6" or 9" wide feeding port?

The die is the blade. It's what cuts the paper. The machine and platforms are what apply pressure to the die which causes the die to cut the paper. Thanks for watching!
Can you cut fabric with the Big Dream die ?
Robyn, I'm not sure that the thin dies would cut fabric. Maybe with a different platform. I don't know.

+Anabela Sousa no, it's too wide. You would need more of an A5 size.
What is a silhouette cameo?
A Silhoutte Cameo is a digital die cutting machime. You can design your own shapes and graphics on a computer and use the machine to cut whatever you create out of cardstock, scrapbook paper, vinyl, etc. You can make all sorts of things including stickers, stencils, templates and more. Cricut is another brand and there are others as well. Thank you for watching!
