GoPro Karma Drone: Follow Me Hack. In this video I go over some tips on how to use the GoPro Karma drone follow me mode. There are some setbacks with this feature do to the fact that the controller has to be open in order for the follow me to stay in flight.
The main reason I wanted a follow me drone was so It could follow me as I rode my mountain bike or anything related. It doesn't work very well to have an open controller in with you at all times. So I found a hack to use a piece of foam and some rubber bands to close the controller enough to keep it safe from controls being bumped but also let the follow me mode still work. Please be careful and confident in how you set up your controller on Your Gopro Karma drone Follow me hack. I would hate for you to make a mistake and crash the drone.
In order to make this work you have to double and triple check that the GoPro Karma drone controller doesn't have the foam piece touching the joystick or the center buttons. If the foam is clear and not touching anything put the rubber bands on and throw the controller in your back pack and enjoy it following you around.
Keep an eye on your battery life because once it reaches the three minute mark, the drone will automatically start to do a self land. It uses the location of where you took off as the landing spot. So make sure that you are near the take off point, or you give yourself enough time to land the drone manually where you are.
The Follow me feature on this drone works pretty well, but you need to set the camera and distance where you want it before you start the follow me. Otherwise it could have an undesirable angle.

Hi Thanks for a great tip, I have struggled with a solution on this issue when I´m skiing. Have you contacted GoPro with this issue? They should be able to make a solution by changing the software..

After seeing this new tip on your Karma Im very serious to buy the Karma, even that it is official that Go Pro won't produce more Karma Drone's anymore because their 2017 lost on those recalls, but they will continue supporting for 2 more years their customers, I think the Karma is a done deal with the stabilizer included it and I also bouth the Hero 6 Black and after watching your video on the Follow me Mode I think is worth it,..any other advise or final recommendation before I adquire the Karma??,..Thanks!
