The suction cup on my Navman S30 failed after almost 20 years of faithful service, third party mounts with the ball don't work for me, is there a way i can just replace the suction cup? The rest of the mount is intact (as i don't drive when i play around with these i currently stick the navman Inbetween the headrest and seat on whichever side I'm sitting on.
Thy don't sell just the suction cup by itself, you can only get the complete mount form TomTom. However if you look on Aliexpress you might be able to find just the suction put by itself. Keep in mind that items on Aliexpress are not the original OEM parts, so it may not last 20 years like the original one did.

@@hellodude7008 You plug in the GPS to your PC copy all the files from the GPS to a folder and save it. Then download the correct Navcore file for your GPS and copy it to the root directly of the GPS. There will be multiple files and folders that you need to copy to the GPS. Remember that doing so will delete all your saved locations and it will factory restore the GPS unit. So all your saved addresses, trip logs, and favorite locations will be deleted.

TomTom is not being honest about it. There are new maps for the older models but they want to push people into buy their new products. If you go to GPS forums it teaches you step by step how to install new 2021 maps on older TomTom devices. Thank you

Yes you can do that, all you need to do is copy the map folder on to the root directly of the GPS. You can get buy the compatible maps from TomTom. Not all maps are compatible with older TomTom units so you have to get the map versions 1070 and ending with any of these two numbers 79, 80, 81, 82, 39, 40, 42

Hi, you need to connect it to your Windows computer using a Mini USB cable. Then in there you can access all the folders inside the GPS where you can either add or delete Maps.

The old versions are available on eBay for very reasonable prices. However make sure they have new batteries because the older ones usually have swollen battery. TomTom XXL is a good choice

@@annemaster5254 Yes the batteries can be charged if they are good, but if they are defective they must be replaced. You can get new batteries for them for about $15 on eBay. So make sure to take that into consideration when you submit an offer to the seller.

@@TECHNOLOGYTIPS101 The Navcore does not seem to matter even with an old version and updating it to the latest with TomTom Home it does freeze. I have no maps installed yet but should not matter. also had freezing issues with previous bootloader 55279. Even tried 9.541
@@patrickvanden8322 In that case you might have a bad internal memory problem on the main board, which makes the repair job beyond it's value. You can get a used working one on eBay relatively cheap.
@@TECHNOLOGYTIPS101 Yeah I thought about that it only puzzles me why i'm able to write my backups and navcore on the device, and the device not. Also formated and checked the logical volume. I might replace the internal 2GB Samsung memory chip with a 4GB mini SD card as I found a tutorial on the Net for that. Anyways thanks for your kind help.

Reinstall the Navcore, which is the operating system of the device. Make sure to install the latest version to prevent the 12:00am Clock reset.

You can also use the original back ring on new mounts. Typically they all just have 2 screws . Easy swap ..

Sorry, only thing you did not cover is Speed camera's warning sounds, how to set it.
First you have to download the Camera Database on the GPS then it will have that option in the settings.

See if updating the Firmware of your TomTom Rider will fix that issue. Be careful when updating it not to delete your maps or other system files.

Nice Video, My XXL keeps freezing after setting time and pressing OK. BootLoaderVersion=55281 & ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9400 Any idea?
Thanks, try updating the Navcore with version 9.541 and it should not only fix the freeze problem but also the 12:00am clock reset issue.
