I knew Caballe was of a desire to resurrect the Zarauela...I love her in her Catalonisn/Spanish true blood! She was an endless surprise, herself resurrecting in every decade...must be ALL those VITAMINS. Such a pleasure and the lift to my day again of only can be 'La Stupenda' at it again. Rest in Peace, Montserrat Caballe. Muchas Gracias. The world needed to know of the Catalonia/Spain. ❤🌹❤🌹❤🌹

Thank you very much for this beautiful zarzuela - have not known it until now. The music, especially the duets are outstanding. I am happy, that caballe is very involved in this recording. She sings everything with brilliance and passion. Her middle voice is almost as always perfekt and the most surprise here are her high notes, for example two times at the end of the overwhelming duet, which begins at at 27:46. I have goosebumps at this duet - BRAVA!!

Maruxa is opera, always was opera. Although Vives named it like "égloga lírica".

Vicente Sardinero un gran barítono, lástima que el sonido no sea limpio, una maruxa con muy buen elenco, hoy esto ya no lo hacen,
