Thank you all so much for watching! This is my personal experience and journey working in accounting. Please leave any comments and questions you may have down below :)
Thanks for sharing your journey! I started in public accounting in tax at 52k after working as an intern there previously. That was 2018. Currently I’m a senior accountant in industry (recently promoted after being with this company almost 3 years now!). Now I’m making around 96k if I include 10% bonus.
Did you feel confident stepping into the assistant controller role? Sometimes I worry I’m not good enough to apply for higher leadership positions even though I have my cpa and multiple years in accounting.
Thank you for your transparency! I just left my position as an accounting manager due to a very toxic work environment, but I don’t have a degree and it was only my second accounting position. Just wondering what to expect on my job hunt. Just curious if any of your previous positions offered hybrid or wfh options.
Yes definitely! I actually worked fully remote for 2 years and worked hybrid for another 2 years. There are a lot of remote and hybrid options for accountants
Thank you Rylie, that was helpful. I am a foreign master's student majoring in accounting, I have maintained high GPA for my study because it is harder for foreigners to land a job in the U.S, I had no choice but study hard. Should I put GPA in my resume when searching for my first job? What do you suggest?
I am from India and planning for masters in accounting STEM course did you prefer me to go with this and in busy session how many hours an accountant has to work or is pay is good or not after masters please help me

I'm grateful I live in a state where it's mandatory to list pay ranges in the job description. Thanks for the transparency in this video!

I would recommend including your GPA on your resume 😊
If one has a degree is accounting than which field should they go into to earn the most amount of money?
Accounting seems like a low paying starting career on average but high salary as you go higher
At what age are you most likely to be a cfo🥺🥺, that's my dreamm
Everyone has a different path and I'm sure it depends on the company but just remember it's never too late. Keep chasing your dream!!
What degree do you have?
Do you work 40 hours a week are you hourly or salary?
I'm salary. A typical work week for me is 40 hours. Sometimes a little more if we're busier and sometimes a little less when things are slower
