Usually in these multiplayer videos they skip the concrete completely but you made your base look like one of the presets in the campaign version lol, what is the nationality of the people playing this game nowadays that its obscure, russian and chinese? is it basically just super nerds playing it?
Yeah in modern pvp concretes take too much time to build them - timings matter more than buildings' health. This game has a funny background: NJ is a weaker player and he wanted to fight against me, so all these concretes, silos and walls were kinda trolling him to show that even doing this I can still win his side.
People playing this are different, some are from europe (mosty eastern), I'm russian, we have few chineses, few americans and some algerians.
The age is from 20 to 40, I'm one of the youngest :D looks like we just knew the game in our childhood and still love it for it's vibe and simple play style. It's just around 10 people of average evening online, so it's very small community where each decent player knows each other :)
there was a remake so someone clearly put a lot of time and resources and programming knowledge into making it or whatever. Lots of gameplays still uploaded in the past 10 years, its still relevant surprisingly.
I remember years ago I rent a comment by a russian or chinese who said they played dune day and night and when they were in school growing up all they could think about was dune.. Insane dedication to rotting on a game like this but even then I never watched someone in a pvp use concrete, next time please do a build with turrets that would look awesome 😂
@@x__mwr-r3q You are probably talking about OpenRA, it's a decent remake, but our community doesn't accept it cuz it's really different: vibe, mechanics, units params, production queue
We prefer classic, and put all the effort we have on improving it though it's very tricky :)
@@x__mwr-r3q haha we have few nerds, but mostly players are just common guys who come home after work and want to play 1-3 Dune games. Some pro players even take a rest for months and after comeback still nobody can win them :D
I work on making all the dune's content playable in the real games as much as possible. Just not all the maps are suitable for, say, concretes, or carryalls. Turrets on this map (from the video) just slow the game down, making it too campy, so we just turn them off. I create some maps where building turrets, concretes can really help and they're not so annoying :D
Some things like ordos and silos just have to be fixed, so we are also working on balance patch & bug fixes
