I haven't heard of this until just now, and I'm very interested in playing it. It seems I have an awful habit of not hearing about awesome indie games until long after they've been Kickstarted. It was the same way with Shovel Knight, LISA, and Freedom Planet for me.
It's insanely worth it, man. The demo is out right now if you wanna give it a whirl, but the full game comes out tomorrow. It'll give you the feelies like LISA did. I'd love to see a review of it if you ever do play it.

***** look my problem with metacritic is the method in which it only values reviews that give a number on it, and that emphasizes the publication of the review more than the critic. Especially how it uses the same resolution for all score schemes. So even if 4/5 stars is next to a perfect score, that comes out as only an 80% which seems to disagree with the spirit of a lot of reviews. The user scores are even worse, but there's absolutely some problems with metacritic. that being said it's still an important thing to pay attention to. Also my computer's a potato so indie gaming is almost all I do anyway.

8 years later as I'm turning 16 next year in February, it's crazy how this game came out over 8 years ago when I was 7, now here I am 8 years later as I'm almost 16, I've gone a long way as I still hold this game very dear to me, I love everything about this game, the soundtrack, the artstyle, the story, the characters, the dialog, everything. I had the chance to support the Kickstarter...And I didn't even try the demo because I hated "the indie scene". Worst decision ever. I finally played the demo a few weeks before it came out on Steam, and instantly decided it would become my first day-one buy ever. Lisa is so much more bleak and offputting than Undertale or Earthbound. If Undertale and Lisa were both sharing a cup of Yume Nikki, Lisa would have been the one to take the bigger sip.

8 years later as I'm turning 16 next year in February, it's crazy how this game came out over 8 years ago when I was 7, now here I am 8 years later as I'm almost 16, I've gone a long way as I still hold this game very dear to me, I love everything about this game, the soundtrack, the artstyle, the story, the characters, the dialog, everything. I aspire to be like Toby Fox as I'm learning how to code and use music software as I plan on learning instruments, I want to fall under the same path as Toby Fox as I want to be a Video Game Composer and Indie Game Developer just like him.

But there's still a positive side to the fandom which I feel like everyone chooses to ignore because they like to complain. If you don't like it don't look at it. That moment when you realize that there are a lot of similarities between Cave Story and Undertale.
- Humans on the surface. Monsters forced underground because of war.
- Main character falling from a hole into a cave where monsters live.
- Being attacked by almost all monsters on sight.
- An evil flower that pretends to be kind.
- Toriel, Asgore, and Asriel are all MIMIGAS. Just look at them!
- The Life Capsules is Cave Story look AWFULLY SIMILAR to the Human Souls in Undertale.
There's just too many similarities to call this a coincidence, everyone! I mean, Mettaton is a TV star, right? So the idea of robots in this universe isn't crazy!
And before someone says that Cave Story copied Undertale, Cave Story came out in 2004. MIGHTY SUSPICIOUS, TOBY!!!! MIGHTY SUSPICIOUS!!!
