There was a “stand in” elite four for Galar like there was a “stand in” champions for Alola. After you defeat Hop. Leon does say that there are 4 trainers left. I’d count Bede,Bea/Allister,Nessa, and Raihan to be the stand in elite four for Galar
But they are still Gym Leaders first and foremost. Also because no new characters are introduced at that point in the game. So they technically don't count in my opinion.
Well the only Sinnoh Dragon Pokemon which Drasna could use is a Gabite/Garchomp... still better than Kabu not having a Torkoal. Also Lance has a Charizard in Let's Go so Flint is not The only E4 with a Starter.

Pott Rott Shauna felt more important than calem/Serena. Game freak was experimenting with multiple rivals in BW with N, cheren and Bianca. They probably wanted to expand that in XY but it was a disaster. I think of it that way since the rivals in XY had a tiny role

I know this is 4 months late, but the fact you provided for Molayne is incorrect. In Kalos, there is a seemingly random npc character known as Cassius, who can be battle in Generation 6’s post game, however he also runs the PC system in Kalos. Therefore, nullifying it. Interestingly enough though, Molayne is the only alolan Elite 4 member to use an Alolan Form, as Kukui is not an elite 4 member and technically is not the champion either
Flint is actually tied for most Pokémon NOT of their type with Lance. At least until Lance is willing to fess up about being a Flying type champion, not a Dragon master.
I think Lance's issue came from the lack of Dragon type options, maybe his team could have been: Dragonite, Dragonair, Charizard, Kingdra, Feraligatr and either Aerodactyl or Tyranitar
but the thing is charizard, gyarados & aerodactyl could easily pass as dragon types. definitely no coincidence that gamefreak chose these specific mons for his team back in the day when only dragonite was the dragon type. they all have dragonlike qualities despite not being the typing itself
I think the Acerola “fact” isn’t quite accurate. A Ghost-type dying doesn’t prove it isn’t really a Ghost-type, but rather that it isn’t really a ghost. Ghost-type Pokémon are living beings, even though they’re often formed from spirits.

Also, it's implied that "Ghost type" is just a type of Pokémon, and being a ghost type doesn't mean it's a ghost or dead. The same reason as to why Charizard isn't a dragon but Applin is

I think Will is one of the most interesting and unique Elite Four members, with how he seems to not have any eyes in most depictions and probably has psychic powers like his Pokémon. The other one I find quite interesting is Grimsly. I can definitely see the Dracula resemblance, especially in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, especially as he’s very pale in that game, although he’s quite pale normally. The gambling references are also obvious, with how he dresses and that he often uses gambling slang when he talks.
Ok I think Sw/Sh does have an elite four technicality because you do have four main fights before Leon (not including rose and eternus) You fight Bede the Fairy type user Nessa the water type user Bea/Allister The fighting/Ghost type users and Raihan the dragon type user

Ok I think Sw/Sh does have an elite four technicality because you do have four main fights before Leon (not including rose and eternus) You fight Bede the Fairy type user Nessa the water type user Bea/Allister The fighting/Ghost type users and Raihan the dragon type user
I wouldn't count those as elite four because they're already gym leaders. Just because they are 4 people that you must fight before the champion doesn't mean that they are Elite 4.

I still think gen 1 elite four have theme team instead of certain type. Loralie is ocean themed, bruno is strength themed, Agatha is harsh theme, lance is ancient theme.
