I heard one time that (now we know all his mob connections were true) but, he messed something up with them big time & they forced him to sing until he died. To pay off the debt or as a thank u that he was spared. If that is true, that's heartbreaking.

I remember that year or two of the swing-comeback. It ended up being a passing fad. It was pretty much faded by the new millennium. It was kinda tacky to be honest. Not anywhere near the quality of the original era.
