Thank You
Love your channel if you run out of stories President Lyndon B Johnson he was a bigger womanizer than the Kennedys . your work on your channel is amazing.
My late father in law was Mr. Sinatra's French chef. I never met Mr. Sinatra in person, but he always sent me a Christmas bag full of goodies, and you would not believe how amazing the stuff was. He was very private and reclusive then, he was sick a lot. But he was always very kind and generous, yes, to his employees and their families.
Then your father knew my dads nephew George Jacobs , Franks private valet , chauffeur and confidant, he worked for him for 25 years . He wrote a book years before he passed away.
Can we not just graze over the fact that Frank’s grandmother revived him by holding him under cold water until he gasped for air??? Where did she learn that from? Was that common place back in the day? So intriguing!!
...and that he was literally "wrenched" from his mother's womb by the "doctor," leaving a scar on the side of his head, and who knows how many psychological scars? Talks about this in his biography.
What a life! Honestly all the people you break down have lived very interesting lives. I feel like my life is boring as heck watching these breakdowns😂
Frank Sinatra was a legend! His life was crazy as hell! Him and Ava Gardener had tempestuous relationship! They had big fights! He was crazy about her! He had a lot of pull in show business! He was very depressed and a lot of other issues! He's been around a long time! He was a triple threat!!😮😮😮😮😊😊😊
Ol' Blue Eyes.....my mother's favorite. We had a dance routine for 'New York, New York'. I was listening to him recently and thought of my mom and just cried. She was tough too but loving. Thank you. Rest in Heaven Mommy with Ol' Blue Eyes...❤❤
You can really see the how Ronan Farrow looks like a lot like Frank when he was younger. Ronan can sing pretty good too. No doubt in my mind that Frank is Ronan’s dad 💯
I dont why him and Mia thought they could pull that off...lol. Its like how Diana Ross's daughter Rhonda look exactly like her and Barry Gordy. Like yall was really trying to fool people huh?...lol
My favorite song by him was New York New York. My mom was a fan and would play his music. Surprised you didn't mention The Rat Pack, and his life in Las Vegas. But like you said, there are so many stories it would have taken at least an hour. Thanks for sharing.
There wouldn't be a Michael Buble or a Harry Connick Jr. without Ol' Blue Eyes. Please do Nat 'King' Cole soon. He and Mr. Sinatra were good friends before the great Nat's tragic death from lung cancer. In fact, Mr. Sinatra took it hard. 😔
I remember hearing Frank Sinatra for the first time and it was "Luck Be A Lady" as Robin Williams is getting ready to be Mrs.Doubtfire. Since then, I have listened to so much of his music and sung "My Way" (my favorite song) and just gotten into his movies. And when I say, this one movie he did (Pal Joey), the camera pin to him and his eyes, whew I definitely understand why women fell for him; that and his charisma. Even Giveon stated how Frank Sinatra is one of his influences. Favorite Songs; My Way Come Fly With Me Only The Lonely My Kind of Town Love and Marriage To Love and Be Loved Come Dance With Me The Way You Look Tonight
I know Frank is an icon, but his huge popularity was a bit before my time. I admire his singing and his acting. What turned me off was this tough guy image and his connection to the mob. That said, he's an enormous talent. P.S. I always thought his marriage to Mia was odd. Not for the age difference. But for her hippy free spirit marriage to a controlling older man. They seemed totally incompatible. And they were. Thanks, Karine, for this Sinatra deep dive. P.S. Will you do a video on John Garfield, the now forgotten anti-hero? If it weren't for him, there would be no James Dean, Al Pacino, Dustin Hoffman, and others.
Frank was an Italian American who grew up at a time where all were aware of the mob as part of community protection and preservation, it really shouldn’t come as a surprise lol he must have grown up seeing wise guys like it was normal!
Dustin Hoffman is a creep , Al Pacino is a much nicer person then John Garfield, and James Dean well he lived the way he died. Forgive me but that’s my opinion .!
My favorite song by him is "My Way." I was drawn to listen to it one day as I was mulling over my life choices and forging a new path in my life. Thanks for posting this!
My fascination with Sinatra, and I think other peoples also, is that, love him or hate him, he did not live a half-assed life, full of compromises, as most of us do. He went "for the gold," failed, reinvented himself, and went for the gold again. From James Kaplan's definitive two-volume biography of "The Chairman," I was amazed to learn how many people loved/hated him but could never distance themselves, no matter how much he abused them. I think that speaks to the human quality of wanting to be around a "do-er," if we're not up to the challenge of being one ourselves. If for no other reason the Sinatra legend will endure.
I love Sinatra. He was my Dad's favorite. I admired him for fighting racism. I saw another biography where he asked a mob boss to stop the making of the movie the Godfather, because he didn't like the way the character who was based on him, was portrayed. Imagine if his Grandmother didn't put him under cold water! I never heard that story. Amazing!
I’m finally on time sis ❤️❤️! Frank Sinatra lived one helluva life. Side note, I loved your Lark Voorhies video, a fashion icon. I hope she’s doing well 🙏🏿❤️
Having the same birthday, December 12th as Frank, I've had a strong connection with his music for many years. Thank you for this tribute to an amazing artist and man.
So have I, for reasons not always clear to me. After taking up singing, my first go-to song was "I've Got You Under My Skin." Found out years later, this possibly-career-defining epic had been recorded by The Chairman and Nelson Riddle upstairs at the KHJ radio studio on Melrose Ave. in LA where I was an intern in the mid-'70's. If you're interested, a few years ago Vanity Fair magazine had a fascinating backstory article on how this song came into being. Talk about a "perfect storm" of mega-talents: Sinatra, Riddle, and a iconic trombonist named Milt Barnhart.
It wasn’t racism.. Frank feared Sammy Davis Jr. Sammy Was realistically the GREATEST of the Rat Pack. It was first Davies then Sinatra then Martin. Frank idolised Davies. But Sinatra although a Giant on Stage- knew he could never achieve the limitless talent of Sammy Davies Jr.
Frank was a racist n covered it up by supporting black ppl in the public. He not only feared Davis, he didn't really like him. Stop trying to make him into something else but what he was, a racist.
@@KarineAlourde You were quite correct; he had an intriguing journey (Ava AND Marilyn?!!!!?), racist or no (most Caucasians are at least chauvinistic, if not racist, even in 2023, because they are presented as the norm, even though they are NOT the norm when viewed globally, one of many examples to prove my point is the tome "Star Trek and History: RACE-ing Toward a White Future").

For years people thought was, until his family recently released his letter begging for his back to the kidnappers. Thanks for this deep dive.
That was J.Paul Getty III, who was kidnapped and had his ear cut off! He had lasting trauma and had many health problems. Frank Sinatra Jr. was kidnapped but wasn't harmed physically, but I'm sure he was quite traumatized by that terrible experience! He did successfully sue one of his kidnappers to prevent a book he was trying to publish about the kidnapping!
Someone asked Bruce Springsteen once if he was stranded on a desert island and he could only have one record (and record player!...lol) what would it be? He named "Summer Wind." Also, read that during the infamous Altamont concert in 1969 (?) when an attendee was stabbed to death by Hell's Angels in full view of the Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, that promoters had a tense, aggressive, primed-for-an-explosion crowd of some 200,000 on hand. Among other things, to help soothe the vibe, music was played on the loudspeakers. Stones' music? Nah...."Summer Wind" was the choice.
I'm from Hoboken and although I never met him i knew some of his family through my grandmother. Hoboken was mostly poor Italian immigrants back than and everyone was very proud of him.
If you watched enough Spike Lee movies, you will learn about Frank Sinatra real quick. That is how I learned of his music and fell in love since. Great video
Very nice. I read some time ago that the big reason his career faltered after Gardner is because he literally lost his voice. Literally. For like more than a year.
This man is my favorite crooner musician ever! Him and Tony Bennett (can you do him next btw?lol) My favorite song by Frank is P.S. I love You & I Couldn’t Sleep A Wink Last Night. I recommend listening to some older classics especially if you’re a woman who likes to romanticize her life like me lol. Another great video Karrine🤍🙌🏾keep it up sis.
I’m so glad you brought this bg music back. Matches perfectly with your voice and am able to focus on your story telling while working. As soon as you said, “he liked staying friends with his ex’s” I looked up his astrology birth chart and saw why (3rd House Venus Capricorn). People are people regardless if y’all aren’t a piece anymore, he definitely values the relationships that he gets into friendship or relationship. There is so much airy, dreamy, charm in his chart. It’s actually very refreshing. There is really so much I can say about it. 😭♥️
The Rat Pack owned Las Vegas financially, owned the gaming industry there and most of all the hotels and land, and were in the mafia. History is fascinating on them
Mr. Sinatra was cool I used to have to go to his home in Malibu and Beverly Hills because my mother-in-law was his Night Nurse so he was always friendly to us
A few years ago I started getting into "old" movies. I came across one with Frank Sinatra. I had known about him as a singer, but boy. As an actor, he was so charismatic, captivating, cool. I see why women went crazy when he sang, though my preference is his film work.
As a black person, I have to say "why cant we ever be satisfied with the 99 good things someone does for us, instead of dwelling, whining and complaining about the 1 thing someone did ! Why ? So that we can be upset about something...come on he did a lot for black people during a time when he could have lost everything and been cancelled. Appreciate the the 99 things and not sulk over the 1 thing 😖😖.
🙄 yes let’s just let people be racist, and kiss their asses when they do “good things” if you want to kiss the feet of people that don’t like you be my guest. Don’t try to bring other people down with you
Wow I’m looking forward to this! I enjoy your videos! A couple days ago I was looking thru old CDs I have and saw a Frank Sinatra one and it brought back nice memories. When I was younger a man from my church burned the CD for me as a nice gift
@@ajat3202 sure but, I’ve never heard of any artist having that many albums, even during his time. Most things in the mid/late 1900’s was relatively short in terms of length of artistry, especially songs and movies.
@@ajat3202 so, upon research, my suspicions were confirmed. Some of his albums only had 5 songs and an average of only 8 songs. Some songs were less than a minute, others were 7 minutes long. Most full length albums now and days have at least 13 songs, if not more and are usually around 3 minutes on average unless they’re an interlude or intro song. On top of that, deluxe albums with extended versions are even more common now than before. So, I don’t completely agree with your criticism.
Seems like an alternate universe, but I remember that Frank Sinatra did a Mountain Dew commercial in the mid to late 90s. You can really see the how Ronan Farrow looks like a lot like Frank when he was younger. Ronan can sing pretty good too. No doubt in my mind that Frank is Ronan’s dad 💯
I fell in love with Sinatra's music by way of my mother's love for it. Every Sunday and sometimes throughout the week, she played My Way and Nat King Coles, That Summer, That Sunday. To honor them, I played My Way at my parent's funerals....Yesssss, it was MY WAY.
I love that you touched on the Bandleader Story with Sinatra that Mario Puzo & Francis Ford Coppola borrowed for The Godfather. I always found it interesting 🤔😀
What a life. My favorite song "Strangers in the Night". Thank you for telling his story. Please look into doing one of "The Rat Pack" also another icon Bill Crosby, he was a heart breaker as well.
I think there was some jealousy with him and Sammy Davis jr. although Davis didn’t have as much money or fame he had an amazing voice and it’s no secret that frank loved the black sound at the time. Frank said when he sung next to Ella Fitzgerald that he felt nervous and he tried to live up to her singing ability.
I ENJOYED LISTENING TO, IT WAS A VERY GOOD YEAR. I'm not a fan of the mafia, BUT after him and Ava Gardner split, I heard she got with a very abusive, violent man. Ava's housekeeper and assistant called Frank to tell him she feared for Ava's life. Frank told her not to worry, because he would handle it. Frank apparently reached out to the mafia, and she never had to worry about that abusive, violent man any longer.

Sammy Davis Jr. would call Frank Sinatra racial slurs as well. It was part of their act. They would verbally spar with each other, and Dean Martin would break it up. It was apart of their comedy routine. My Black Puerto Rican American and Black Tejano father loved the Rat Pack. My grandparents say them live in Vegas. It is uniquely American.

So excited about this one! well done, as usual. Summer wind, is my favorite. The background music is also my favorite piece, by your brother ❤
Favorite songs by him: "Strangers in the Night", "Fly Me to the Moon", "New York, New York", "Something Stupid", and "My Way"
we need that seduction law back 😂😂. Too many people out here playing with peoples emotions
⭐⭐⭐⭐ My grandmother use to say " Like the way that little man sings" regarding Frank Sinatra.
Him and Tony Bennett (can you do him next btw?lol)
My favorite song by Frank is P.S. I love You & I Couldn’t Sleep A Wink Last Night. I recommend listening to some older classics especially if you’re a woman who likes to romanticize her life like me lol. Another great video Karrine🤍🙌🏾keep it up sis.
Omg I love “I couldn’t sleep a wink” and Fly me to the Moon! Very good soundtracks for romanticizing your life ❤
@@KarineAlourde yes!!🥰
Talented man who made all his own problems and who hurt his family who still seem to be suffering.
Can you do videos on Irene Cara and the original aunt Viv Janet Hubert??
Absolutely ❤
I love the song,My Way 🤍💜💝💫✨🌟🍾🥂🥂
I’m glad he grand-mom saved him. Imagine a world without him!
He was a sag. Straight to the pointtttttt and blunt as hell. Some ppl can’t handle that 🤷🏽♀️
Thanks for the upload!!❤️❤️❤️
My pleasure! Thank you for running in Hana ♥️♥️♥️
Astrology is a sin - divination - and I had to repent of being into it in the past.
The Rat Pack owned Las Vegas financially, owned the gaming industry there and most of all the hotels and land, and were in the mafia. History is fascinating on them
Mr. Sinatra was cool I used to have to go to his home in Malibu and Beverly Hills because my mother-in-law was his Night Nurse so he was always friendly to us
Frank's voice improved as he aged. Watch the movie: The Man with the Golden Arm.
My favorite film by him.
That movie is amazing.
Loved this! He was a true artist imo. Can you do Marlon brando and alain delon next.
Brando is coming up soon and I’ll add Delon to my list ❤
@@KarineAlourde can't wait!
@@KarineAlourde thank you so much. Finally! Alain Delon
Don’t try to bring other people down with you
@@Las645You sound ditzy as fuck 😭👌🏽
Then go to a country that is not racist against black people like Africa, Haiti, Liberia etc...you know where all black people live. Duh
@@boomboomcoacoates9199 Africa isn’t a country. Duh

Wow I’m looking forward to this! I enjoy your videos! A couple days ago I was looking thru old CDs I have and saw a Frank Sinatra one and it brought back nice memories. When I was younger a man from my church burned the CD for me as a nice gift
Hello mitchelleroberson🫡🙂
59 albums is insane! But I don’t imagine having too many songs on each of them.
People had time on their hands to listen to a body of work. Too many distractions from the internet
Really a mountain dew commercial never seen it I wanted to say not sure if he did a brisk tea commercial I wonder if it was that wplants9793?
“My Way” all the way from Hoboken, New Jersey!
He was the first teen idol.
He also liked the teens
I think Frank Sinatra suffered from Bipolar even though he was not diagnosed
*When l use to hear hm sing *"New York New York"* 🎵 it would be awesome* and still is, a great moment."
My dad loved Frank Sinatra. I still have his old albums and duets. Everytime i play them I remember the good times we had. R.I.P Josh ❤
Looove all your videos on Old Hollywood!! Keep going !
How about Anna May Wong, and Ramon Navarro. They were pioneer minority silent star actors.
This is easily my new favorite channel, i found you like a week ago. These videos are amazing! And you’re a POC 👏🏾👏🏾 like what 🤯
Brilliant video. Great detail on the early career. Great job as usual.
I love When I Was 17, New York and his appearance on Who's The Boss
I think there was some jealousy with him and Sammy Davis jr. although Davis didn’t have as much money or fame he had an amazing voice and it’s no secret that frank loved the black sound at the time. Frank said when he sung next to Ella Fitzgerald that he felt nervous and he tried to live up to her singing ability.
A great commentation. Thank you, Karine.
Handsome "Ole blue eyes"
An interesting one you should do is Wwe Miss Elizabeth. She was so elegant & beautiful
Are you referring to Elizabeth Taylor or Queen Elizabeth? She did them.
@@cocoaorange1 AJ is referring to Elizabeth Hulette who was the manager for the Macho Man Randy savage. They were a power couple in the then world wrestling federation in the 1980s. Loved her contribution to the professional wrestling world.
RIP Miss Elizabeth.
"One for the Road" is my absolute favorite
Great summary of Sinatra; can you do a breakdown of the CARPENTERS particularly Karen Carpenter???
Ole Blue Eyes
I remember my mother begging me to agree to see the Rat Pack when they were on their final tour.. I finally agreed. Called to order tickets.. they were sold out within an hour
When he was very young and doing the nightclub circuit he spotted my grandmother and asked her out. She turned him down and told us her date was better looking!😎
No way Woody is Ronan's dad.
As for Sinatra, two of my favorite movies is The Manchurian Candidate and Oceans 11.
Loved him in The Man With The Golden Arm".
The piece you did on Frank Sinatra's life and career was very interesting, I enjoyed it quite a bit, but I do believe that his life and exploits is so extensive, that you should include a part 2 video in the future and even speak on his affiliation with other unmentioned starlets, the Kennedys and also his Rat Pack Buddies and etc. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
I loooooove that you’re covering some of the allusive and interesting men as well! Love your breakdowns
No one had a better life he had it all & he wasn’t afraid to share it he helped a lot of people never wanted anyone to know about it
Great video..❤️❤️❤️.i was just watching a movie with "Della Reese" in it ( harlem nights) and thought of this Channel...would love a Video on her she's had an amazing career..i had no.idea she started off as a singer..
Yes fly me to the moon !
