If you think you have ringland issues pull off your oil fill cap with the engine idling. If a bunch of crankase pressure (blow-by) comes up, you most likely have a broken ringland
@@maperformance Yes the P2 chassis is an excellent vehicle, recently sold a beautiful 2004 XC70 w/factory HID option, silver paint/charcoal black leather...what a beauty!!
Wish you guys could cover a little bit more I. How to prevent these failures. High octane, cylinder 4 cooling mod, AOS, E85 for building power. These would’ve helped but I like it
I’m very upset that I can’t order any of the parts I want for my STi just because I live in California. I literally can’t order anything from any Subaru based company if it’s meant for hp gains smh
I agree, I just blew my stock engine at 22k, but luckily I'm covered under warranty but I got no car for 2 months now. Also, the problem I think was that I would do oil change every 6k since it's covered by the dealer
nate chave your biggest problem wasn’t oil change intervals, while yes you should change it every 3k as long as it was topped off whatever. Ylthe biggest issue was the stock tune. Lots of knock and running lean to pass emissions. I was shocked when I data logged the stock tune.
Check out our website! We have plenty of parts from fittings to full turbo kits, for older chassis as well as newer ones. Even if "Modern" is quite literally in our name we know a good project car when we see it!
Thank you for watching!

PO303 code accompanied by a stumble at 3000-3500 RPMs but only between 0-4 psi!😅

And remember kids. When replacing a blown turbo you always upgrade the turbo. No stock replacements. The world has enough puscs we don't need anymore.
Fp blue, says wassup
This vid has some really awful advice, ihi makes very reliable turbos that you won't find anywhere in the aftermarket
@@TheLastS209 there is a built one by them that can push over 400whp. Check out their site
Don’t forget the vape refill cartridges 🤣

Changing the banjo bolt filters for the turbo is important
Good video guys!!
I would love to see more content on the Subaru VA chassis WRX...any content on the VA chassis would be great!!
Noted! Nice V70R! Though we don't make any parts for them they are great cars! (I have one with 345,000 miles!)

Vote with your feet
Hotsmog my boy. I live in Commiefornia
If i leave STI stock, i wont experience ringland failure?
Not guaranteed, but if it is left stock and proper maintenance is performed you should be fine!
@@maperformance thank you
the kid is sitting on the engine!!! no wonder these cars blow up
Subaru Engines and Drivetrains break after much modifications and expensive to fix to boot.
Keep it under 400hp and it will live 4ever.
