Renault Kadjar 2020 review: Zen

  • The Renault Kadjar is a small to mid-size SUV which seems to be a growing category.
    I test drove the Kadjar Zen which costs $32,990, before on-road costs. None of the Kadjar range has AWD, so consider them suburban vehicles which also work well as second cars, if you’re done with a regular hatchback.
    Here’s how the Kadjar Zen performed in real life with my family of four, for this week’s family review.

      Problem was, Renault Australia decided not to count the under-floor storage, to not cannibalise sales of the Koleos - since the boot of the Kadjar is laughably actually larger than the Koleos. They decided to no longer sell the model this year and replace it with the Arkana. Very sad.

    Great review that concentrates on the things that matter to most people. Got to say though, while it's based on the same platform as the Qashqai the boot is bigger on the Renault not smaller, with 430 and 472 litres respectively. Not sure where you get 408 litres from?

    Have you noticed that some car makers (like the maker of this car) don't bother to make a radio with reversed radio controls for RHD markets. That is why the radio controls were not an easy reach for the driver. The Japanese car makers (Nissan, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Honda...) do bother to make separate radio faces for RHD markets since their home market is RHD.

    • @letsseeif
      @letsseeif 4 года назад +1

      bigcrowfly. Funny you should say that because my Hyundai LKA (Lane Keeping) in my late model i30PremiumSR here in Melbourne seems (maybe because South Korea is LHD), to prefer the Left Hand Drive LKA in what I reckon all Hyundai's are by default 'set up'. So, I believe that they continue to best apply to Left Hand Drive. So frustrating here in Oz where we have RHD. I've even had my servicing dealer onto that since day one when I became aware that it preferred the far left (curb side) to the centre right [please note that this is not politics I'm taking about]. So Hyundai & maybe KiaI LISTEN HERE! PLEASE change the set up for LHD to the Right Hand Drive countries such as the UK, Japan, Aussie, NZ, & most of the old British Empire lands across the globe, & do it ASAP!

      I think the presenter missed audio remote controller (1:22) in the steering column, which has been quite some time in its place. So yes, you have volume control as a button, among few other things.

      @letsseeif 4 года назад

      @@test143000 Re my letsseeif post, I only address Hyundai/Kia, as that's Korean (LHD) & Australia is RHD. Anyway, about a third of the global market is RHD & Nissan, Toyota, Mitsu, & Honda are major players in said market. Long-term-wise, & profit driven, they'll find best leverage if they address this fix ASAP 'cos 1/3 of the world is significant if they want to stay in the profit loop and global game rather than the regional one because regions go up and down whereas the global reach lets one average out.

      @@letsseeif wishfull thinking. There is one market outside Korea that is important for Korean brands - The USA. The same for the Japanese carmakers - The USA is number one followed by Japan. Australia is of low priority. Lexus, Acura, Infinity are luxury brands that target the USA. That shows the importance of the USA market for Japanese carmakers.

    • @ytlurker220
      @ytlurker220 3 года назад

      Yes, because it has a petrol particulate filter, and is one of those high-performance small capacity turbo engines. This one was co-developed by Mercedes and Renault. The Kadjar is one of the first and only cars with that emissions-saving device in Australia. It is coming to the new Captur and Arkana as well, the Arkana being the vehicle which replaces the Kadjar in Australia, unfortunately. Terrible decisions made by Renault Australia, I'm almost glad they have been replaced by Ateco.
