    Something you may not know is you need to use very specific RAM called 3200AA for these HP Victus PCs, otherwise it will run at 2133mhz rather than 3200mhz, which means you'll lose a good chunk of performance. You usually can find an 8GB stick online for like $15-20. Also make sure you don't get laptop RAM on accident; the desktop ram is longer and shorter than laptop RAM.

    • @bradfordskeldorado
      @bradfordskeldorado  Год назад +1

      Thanks for that info. It's running at 2400mhz currently. I never thought to check to see that the speed changed. I appreciate the feedback!

      I just want a double check that this is accurate. I was two seconds from buying a Ram kit. I admittedly have no idea what I'm talking about. I haven't tried to build or upgrade a PC in 20 years, probably.

      Here are two links to find a 16gb set or just a single 8gb stick to add to the original. These work without slowing down the ram speed! Hope this helps!

      @bradfordskeldorado I've been googleing like crazy for a while now. I can't find anything about 3200aa and victus. I did find a video saying the victus line uses 1.2v ram slots. So to use 1.2v ram. Also found that ddr4 above 1.2v is basically factory overclocked. So if hp limits the ram slots to 1.2v. Then that makes sense. Why the higher voltage ram can't hit it's basically overclocked spec. Just like adjusting the voltage to overclock a cpu. Just a thought. It makes a $50 difference for a 2x16 kit.

    • @bradfordskeldorado
      @bradfordskeldorado  Год назад +1

      So something with the AA ram causes it to be set to 3200mhz. The factory bios is default to that speed amd cannot be chNged so if you put the 1.35v stick that is ECC ram then it will reduce the speed. The ram in the link I commented above is non-ecc that is the same as the factory stick that HP puts in so it will run at 3200mhz and not reduce down to 2400mhz.

    Regarding CP 2077, I think downgrading the settings to Medium or Low would yield significantly better results. High graphics tends to have diminishing returns compared to medium settings, and the CPU is more than capable of pushing 50-60 fps without the GPU bottleneck.

    • @bradfordskeldorado
      @bradfordskeldorado  Год назад +3

      I agree you would have better numbers with reducing the settings but doing a benchmark on high shows that the pc can handle the game without stuttering and also its only up from where I tested it. If you want to lower settings, you at least know your system can run it. I personally get tired of seeing people lower settings just to get high fps as a measure vs a good quality graphics and game stability! I appreciate the feedback!

The front od the case has 2 - 10gig USBA and 1 - 5gig USBA ports . The USBC is actually only 5gig and qualifies to be an oxymoron. USBC superspeed at 5 gigs, WTF?? There is only 1 NVME slot so I am going to replace the 1TB with a 4TB and split it to .5 TB and 3.5TB Partitions.HP has emptied the URL's for these newer PC's for somereason, you get 404 message. @@bradfordskeldorado Hey man! some bad news when upgrading
      I got my low spec HP Victus 15L desktop a couple months ago (Ryzen 5 5600G, RX 6400, 8GB ddr4, 350w PSU) Upgraded Ram from 8gb to 32GB, added a 2tb ssd, and prepared to upgrade my GPU. I bought the MSI AMD RX 6700XT and thru RUclips videos and all the research I did, I ordered the L05757-800 from eBay, (which my friends say I should not do) and when the time came, it fit! But sadly did not have 2x 8-pin connectors which my gpu needs (it only had 1 2+6-pin, and 1 6-pin). I'm sad and returning the PSU, after a little more research, realized I may need a different 500w PSU, the HP L77487-001. This PSU should have the 2x 8-pin connectors my GPU need!
      1. Does the HP L77487-001 500w PSU have 2 8-pin connectors? (2x 2+6? And is that any different?)
      2. Will the HP L77487-001 power my GPU that recommends a 650w PSU?
      3. Why do I need to buy a proprietary HP Power Supply unit in the HP Victus 15L Desktop/TG02?
      Bonus: Should I order the HP L77487-001 from eBay? Do you order parts from eBay? Should I be scared to use the 500w psu with my card?

    hi! liked and subscribed. very good video. great that you tested all of those games. pretty decent numbers, I guess. but, I don't have any of those games to compare to. the only game I play is Medal of Honor multiplayer and nobody uses that for testing nowadays even though it's been revived and remastered. so, I usually look for some benchmark tests. there are some free, really good, fun, interesting and super informative tests out there. I wish we could all just agree on one or two instead of 10 to use, for easier comparisons, but oh well. personally, I like the Cinebench R23. it's quick, easy and offers some other rigs to compare to. so far on that one, I laid down a highest of 16,625 for multicore and a 1,400 single core with the Game boost(basically 1click overclocking offered by most aftermarket mobos), activated. the results seem to vary with every one of these benchmark apps, tho. and I noticed a tiny drop in numbers when I record the test in the background. so, the tests that I've posted on my channel show lower results. I like the 3D Mark Time Spy a lot, too. that thing tells you a ton of stuff. my score on that averages about 9,900. CPU average is about 12,000. the GPU scores average about 61 FPS. Unigine Valley 1.0 is fun, too. average score about 9,000. min FPS about 54. max FPS about 345. Unigine Heaven 2.0 is fun, too. scores averages around 7,300. FPS about 286. min FPS about 68. max FPS about 862.
    my set up was about twice the cost of yours, of course. I spent $1,118 for parts, shipping and taxes. I have a video on each part cost and also video of the complete unit. I'm not sure up I'm a game nut or a computer nut, lol. my rig isn't high end, per se, but, it's upper middle with my Intel i9 10900k, MSI MPG Z490 Gaming Edge wifi mobo (supports up to 4800mhz RAM and a i9 11900k CPU), EVGA GEFORCE GTX 1080 Ti SC GPU, Corsair Pro RBG 32GB 36000 Mhz RAM, Vetroo S210 ATX MTcase w/6 RBG fans, Vetroo Lurker V240 CPU water cooler, Rosewill 1200w PSU. it runs super cool. I just finished it. I'm about to start doing some testing on overclocking the GPU, but, I'm hesitant because the built in FPS counter in my Medal of Honor, blips up to 3,000 FPS! but! that makes my low internet symbol flash like a strobe light. I have to keep turning down my max FPS setting in console to about 400 to quiet down that light from having kittens 😸
    I have terrible turtle wifi that's free with my stupid apartment. getting high speed internet is, so far, not available in the rough neighborhood, that I live in, hhhhhhhhh.
    I guess, to summarize. how about a benchmark test or two, also?
    I will look to see what other videos you have. don't forget!? Medal of Honor is still around, free to download(mymoh.tk)

      @@bradfordskeldorado wow, thank you! you, sir, are too kind. awesome. the only game I play is Medal of Honor. and nobody ever uses that for any benchmark testing. so the only way I can compare anything is if they do the Cinebench R23, the Heaven 2.0, or the Valley 1.0. some guys use a Heaven 4.0 and that isn't free so, I'm not sure what they're thinking. I can only imagine a handful of people that would use the paid one, when several great free ones are available. I wonder what their target audience is. or do they do it so most of us can't tell what a piece of crap they just built? a video the other day had a guy showing off a rig that he built to show off how great he was with building a pc with a $1,000 budget. I thought ok, perfect. my build was $1,118 including taxes and shipping. well, my machine crushed his. I had about double his Cinebench R23 score and 2,000 more on another one. and his groupies were writing in, saying how awesome he was and one guy wrote in say how he had built 25+ computers and how impressed he was at this one thousand dollar build. I'm thinking what a bunch of knuckle heads. I trashed the "pro" making the video with my first try. I had only been studying pcs for 7 months, bought all the parts and bada Bing bada boom. killed the guy with 50 how to videos. anyways, on my Medal of Honor built in FPS counter, I've seen it briefly blip up to 3,000 Frames per second. I'm not kidding. but, my low internet light is having a stroke it's flashing so hard. like a strobe light. I have terrible free wifi here where I live. so to get my game playable, I have to keep turning down my FPS until that light stops flashing. earlier for some reason the wifi was happy and I opened up the throttle to a high of 800 FPS and it was awesome. I was kicking ass. I beat up 2 guys at once. but, later on the wifi got bitchy, so I had to turn it down to 400 to play. I'm going to do some testing, comparing the FPS on my stupid 60Hz refresh smart tv to the monitor that I just bought with a 180mhz refresh rate. I'm looking for to that. then, I'm gonna kill myself to find some freakin high speed internet on the rough part of town that I live in. they've all said, oh no, we don't have any lines in that neighborhood, yet. we'll put you on our list when we do, we'll let you know. ya, right you will. do you play MOH?

      So the computer you currently have would probably out perform the victus. The difference is the intel cpu you have is a 4 core vs the 5600g being a 6 core. So the 5600g would have more cores to process games or programs but the rx580 is still a stronger gpu even though it's about 5 years older. But you could possibly save time and money by buying an rtx 3060 to swap out your rx580 and have a great jump in performance!
      Bottom line, I would hate for you to get rid of what you have now to spend money on an equal performing pc. Now, the parts are newer and would have a warranty but I wouldn't expect a huge jump in performance. I hope all of this helps and thank you for the compliments!

      @@bradfordskeldorado I'm going to bite the bullet on this (I found it at a nearby Walmart for $400 today, but most stores seem to be sold out). I had planned a 5600g build for about the same cost with more ram, bigger SSD, but reusing my power supply and RX 560. When you install new ram on this pc, it detects there is additional ram installed automatically. The ram speed is set on this computer. On other computers that don't use proprietary parts, you can adjust the ram speed in the bios. A very simple task to get the maximum speed out of your upgrade. Always check the speed on your ram! If you put a slower speed, it will default to that slower speed.

      The voltage shouldn't matter as far as the ability to use it. Now, if you have a system that is set to 1.2v and you use 1.35v then it could limit it to 1.2v. Also if it is a 1.35v system and you use 1.2v the it will also limit it to 1.2v. So you should be able to use it and get more memory but you may not be able to utilize 100% of the computers memory frequency is you are trying to overclock. Best bet is to get the 1.35v ram and if you have a 1.35v system, then you're good to go. If you have a 1.2v system then you're not losing anything my having the 1.35v kit in it. Hope this helps!

      I try to play a variety of games to include demanding games so you can see what the pc is capable of. Also, I try to only download one launcher to prevent spending a lot of time downloading more.

    Is the 1660 super version good for 900 euro? Please respond if possible

    • @bradfordskeldorado
      @bradfordskeldorado  Год назад

      This pc was a good deal at the price I bought it. The 1660 super version for 900 euros would be a little high due to the fact that you could build a pc for that price that can out perform this pc. I recommend building one and being able to upgrade in the future with a psu that is not going to limit you. I am selling a pc right now for 500 USD or 460 euros that has a 1660 6gb and can be upgraded is the buyer wants

    Hey man is it possible to swap cases ?

    • @bradfordskeldorado
      @bradfordskeldorado  Год назад +2

      It's not really practical with this motherboard style. It has a front and rear I/O that is specific for this case and it has proprietary connectors and a smaller power supply for this case. If you planned to buy and swap it, you might as well but everything and build the pc yourself. Adding a $60-$90 case, $80-$120 power supply and a $100 motherboard would have this pc around $800 and you can build a pretty good pc at that price point

      I added a 3.5" hard drive in the video but I would honestly recommend going with a 2.5" ssd. You can get a 2tb pny ssd for about $63 on Amazon and it has the cables included to plug and play!
