If you want a bit of context, On-lyne is an in-universe boy band in Warframe, and Big Bytes Pizza is an in-universe pizza brand that sponsors them lol. As for the creepy costumes, said boyband is connected to one of the game's factions: the Infestation (specifically a subfaction known as Techrot). It's a disease that mutates flesh and machinery into horrible monsters. You can see brief flashes to the monstrous versions of the band members at the beginning of the song! The game is normally in a futuristic setting, but recently a bit of time travel has been involved. Won't get into it too much, but the song itself has some cheeky references to in-game events and lore. These guys did an awesome cover!
Yep. And the song and pizza are how the disease takes the human over. So to everyone who listened to this song, the mandatory choreography lessons will begin 8 PM UTC. Pizza of course will be provided.
there is soooooo much to love about this, from the way they all appear in different stages of infection to the vaguely threatening way they follow you with their eyes, staring at you from the shadows, Cesar alluringly beckoning you to come join them (so where do I sign up??). Eli's metal screams get me every time, and the harmonizing is just so wholesomely good to my ears. Omar was the perfect addition to this song, with his clear, bright voice making that riff seem effortless. VoicePlay is just so unreal at times. I can't say I love every one of their songs the same, but sometimes they come out with one that, for the first while, I can't stop playing it, either on YT or in my head. this is one of them. thank you, Jennifer, for being as over-the-top joyful about it as I am. MORE REACTORS NEED TO GET ON THIS!
I love that EVERYONE goes absolutely wild over that modulation! It's such a good segment of the song, especially with that stripped-back section leading up to it.
This proofs that VP would be the perfect 90's boyband if they want to be. Instantly went back to my teenager times with this, having the party of MY lifetime every time i listen to this🥰.
Great analysis Jen!!! I cannot believe that they were able to find a Diskman for Omar to have, totally '90s. This had to be fun for Geoff and Layne to go back to their high school years.
In the late 90s, when the Boy Band craze hit, l was in my mid 30s and much more into anything rock, so l never had what l would call a proper 'Boy Band Phase'... UNTIL NOW!!! Lovely reaction as always, liked it a LOT! ❤❤❤
Thank you for the entertaining reaction and analysis! I'm glad you went back for it. Such fun to see you freak out and geek out about everything that has floored us ever since release day. I think this is a highly underwatched VP song. An absolute banger of a video, full of cool details in every aspect (90's boybands homage/affectionate parody, Warframe lore, etc.) and one hell of an earworm. It's a blast in every sense of the way, a bit overwhelming but so much fun to re-watch, looking out for the moments where each member gets to shine, individually or in harmony. That lethal beatbox-bass combo! Eli's metal screams! The modulation! Cesar and Omar nailing the best of the boyband vibes... while Layne and Geoff bring all the stuff teenage-me WISHES boybands back then had featured... I just love this song so much, and I love when reactors have a great time with it!
Thanks for this reaction to VoicePlay. Eli was lead singer with a rock cover band for a decade before joining VoicePlay so the screams probably aren't new to him. So great that despite Warframe sponsoring they allowed VP to do this their way and film at Pattycake. I'm not a gamer, but love it. I do believe that VoicePlay can cover anything.
After the great job they did with "Sleeping in the Cold Below" which was in Warframe as well, the makers of the game asked if they'd do a cover of Party of your lifetime, or at least it's what I heard.
@@JenniferGlatzhoferthank you Jennifer for another great reaction to Voice Play. You are so much fun to watch. I think you may have talked over the part at the end when Geoff was thanking Warframe for sponsoring them. Warframe asked them for an updated boy band version & gave them free rein over it.
I love to watch your voice play reactions.. you’re always having fun and make it so much fun! Hoping someday to meet you if you ever come stateside and visit fly over country.. ( the mid west states. The ones that people fly over going from one coast to the other..). We’re more civilized than a lot of people think 😁. Keep up the awesome work and stay safe happy and healthy ❤️🌹🌹‼️
It's shocking, Jen! Heheh... This was so much fun. :D Eli is GOD! Layne is cray-cray. Geoff = EarthQuake. Cesar is the ultimate boy-band member and Omar is FIRE!
I have so much fun listening to these along with you…just sitting here laughing at the certain parts I know will get a good reaction. You definitely keep things fun and entertaining.
They are playing the boy band in the game. On Lyne is the name of the band. Big Bytes Pizza is in the game. The outfits copy what the band wears in the game. The boy band has been corrupted by an intelligent virus that’s using them to spread itself. Which puts a different spin on a lot of the lyrics. 😏 If you happen to google Warframe On Lyne to see how the group was drawn in the game, you’ll see that at least one was for sure based on a VP member. I think at least 3 were but the others had a feature or two changed. One though is absolutely a cartoon copy, IMO. And lmao, you sounded so concerned for Eli after his metal scream. That was his second; you missed the one at the beginning.
If you progress the chats with Aoi far enough there's a conversation about On-Lyne and how Amir helped to uncover something. The specifics of what he uncovered is on the computer in Aoi's area in Holvania Mall.
This was a lot of fun, Jen - your musical theatre roots were showing just a little even though we couldn't see your feet dancing along under your desk! 🥰 @VoicePlay, if you're looking for an English soprano as a future collaborator we've got her right here! And a very Happy Birthday to Miss Maria today! 🎂🎉
when Jen brings out the piano you know she is shooketh. (i am sure she has brought it out a few times befor and i just forgot about it. or haven't watched it)
Love it when you get giddy! VoicePlay brings it every single time. Doesnt matter the genre.....but THIS brought me back to highschool in the most EPIC updated way. LoVeD IT!😊
I found a Warframe fandom page that talks about why they look the way they do and the significance of the pizza and the band in the game. This is a flashback that explains some of the backstory to the game from what I can tell. The CD that Cesar has the look of the game’s version of the song on Spotify. They dressed pretty closely to the way the characters are portrayed on that page and there’s a description of each of the characters. Layne is portraying Hard Drive, the jock of the group who is strong but sensitive (but J may not agree🥕). Geoff is portraying Zeke who is both selfless and stylish. Appropriately, the character that Cesar is portraying is Drillbit and is considered the heart of the group. Eli is Packet, the best tech whiz. Omar, as guest, got the plum assignment: DJ ROM the maestro and musical genius. (so appropriate since his real life band is called Epic Party Band!)
If you haven't already, you should really listen to the original version that they made for the game. It sounds different but it's also amazing. They also made another song in game by the same group that sounds just as good.
12:11 I’m not sure if you’ve ever seen their short cover of “Something in the way” (also including Omar) it’s starts with Cesar in his low baritone and it is godly! We don’t hear it that low ever. It’s one of my all time favourite videos of all of theirs (not just short). ruclips.net/user/shortst0upe8oOsRo?si=QrMahpH2Rxe9yzh-

During the premiere chat, i said I couldn't wait to see their smooth dance moves. To which Geoff replied: "Define 'smooth'." 😅

They must’ve found it at the same store that they found the Walkman that they used in Running up that Hill😅.

What versatility by VP. Boy band? Check! Love these guys. Great showcase for Omar. Awesome!!!
First time I saw their thumbnail I thought it said "Oh Layne", but then my eyes cleared and saw On-Lyne

Thanks for the r&a Jen! 🥰

Great reaction; thank you for highlighting how outstanding the performance is
I love your content thank you for loaded videos to make us all happy
As a 90s kid, love this!! Whatever dystopian problem they have I'd be screwed because boy bands rock! VP killed it as usual! Thanks Jen!

Loved your commentary, love the VP OMV. All great. One day you'll get down to Geoff's lows. You got it girl! 😊
