This is the first Lexus RX review I’ve seen where the journalist didn’t stomp the pedal to test the maximum acceleration then complain about how they can hear the engine roaring. Something barely anybody would do with this car anyway.
We tend to be realists here at AutoTrader and try to review each vehicle through the perspective of the people who might actually be in the market for them! Thanks for watching!
Great review! The constant beeping was too much for my wife so she turned off a lot of the safety monitors. The Proactive Driving Assist is our favourite safety feature for city driving. So far we are averaging 6.1L/100km but we’ll see how that changes with the Vancouver winter season.
Lexus packages are crazy. I glanced at a NX and there's a 16k dollar package... And forget getting a PHEV. Even the salesperson laughed at the 2-3 yr wait time.
Even the 350h is hard to get lol. They have loads of the gas model on the lot though. I waited 8 months to get my 350h in the color and specs I wanted. My last car was a 2019 X5, came in 2 month. Ridiculous wait time lol.
The last time I watched Jodi Lai, she opined that the Lexus LC 500 was the worst car of the year. That was the worst take of any automotive journalist ever. It's been about 5 years, and I have not watched any of her content since.
Welcome back lol I actually really liked the Lexus LC, but the hybrid model I drove back then was not the V8 model everyone gushes about. The hybrid model was quite underwhelming for the price. My opinion on the V8 model is quite different. -Jodi
The title should be comfortably mediocre, practically uncompetitive The RX is nothing but a dressed up rav4/Camry suv. Nothing luxury about that In every category the RX really falls apart vs rivals
@@naveenthemachine I never suggested it does; however, it’s hard to overlook just how popular it is. It’s also outrageous to claim that there’s “nothing luxury” about it, let alone that it “really falls apart” next to rivals. Smart money buys the RX.
@@danilika9420 i disagree The RX ICYDK is based on the rav4 and Camry since it rides on the EXACT SAME TNGA K Platform. So driving experience clearly matches the rav4 no matter what you do. Give it a 1000 drive mode adaptive suspension or coat the suspension components in 24k gold. It’ll still drive like a cheaper car. And there’s nothing luxury about being reminded of a cheaper car. And as a car it does fall apart in many categories. It’s not attractive even vs some non luxury SUVs, interior looks like a toyota. No upscale materials you’d expect. It lacks a lot of features. It has useless tech that nobody asked for Legroom isn’t great. Trunks still small. The powertrains are just awful. None of them are worthy including the hybrid. Who cares about mpg? It’s a luxury car. If you want the luxury of mpg get a Prius or Camry hybrid and save the cash.
Can the RX still hold its own? It’s the most reliable vehicle out there. Yes, it holds its own.
Jodi, The title should read: Comfortable, Practical, Efficient and Canadian. 🤩
That about sums it up!! -Jodi

Is not compulsory for her to do that in review.. showing the interior and exterior of the car is all that matters
Absolutely agree, this is not a sports car….

Great review as always.🙂
Thanks so much for the kind words! -Jodi
Awesome review and cool glasses 🤓

“It’s built right here in Ontario Canada!”, and it will get stolen right here in Ontario Canada as well!😂
sad but true thanks for our imbecile politicians with pro crime policies

So every thing is perfect. Sounds so much like a paid review . This is good . I love this . Perfect . Enjoy this and that .
We don't do paid reviews. And I mentioned a few things I didn't like about this Lexus, but they did do a good job on it. Thanks for watching. -Jodi
Gonna wait 2 years on this model too see if the 4 cylinder holds up
Love my 2017
Lexus have been using turbo fours in RXs for years now in other parts of the world. No need to wait.
But in America
Everything is watered down
It's force induction 2.4 liter turbo. Not naturally aspirated.
This is the RX 350h, which uses a 2.5L naturally-aspirated engine. The RX 500h gets the turbo motor, as does the non-hybrid RX 350.

Does it have spare tire
Yes
It isn’t a full size tire, but it also isn’t a donut
Not sure if "Built in Canada" is a bonus though ... Would prefer a Japanese built one.
The facility in Canada that builds these has won numerous awards for quality. Thanks for watching! -Jodi
Great video, however, it would be nice to know the MPG also. I hear kilometers and it's Greek to me.
I get 50 mpg
I really relly like it and I really really want to buy it BUT.....I cannot live my life worring about my car being stolen.....😒
If it is stolen you can report that to Lexus and they can disable the car
@@gary-sq7oi Not that good for me is it...

Different class of vehicles.
The RX outsells everything else in the segment.
