"The courses at the Irish Pagan School offer an in-depth approach to Irish paganism that is based on genuine history and folklore. There is so much here for curious learners of all levels to gain knowledge and insight on their spiritual paths while avoiding the misinformation that is sadly common in popular modern paganism. I have benefited greatly from the classes and look forward to taking more."

Thanks, Jon. Important conversation, always good to have your voice in our house. The far right movement here in the US understands fear, and keeping citizens in fear is the foundation of their power. They play a long game on peoples’ minds and it is incredibly sad, incredibly wasteful. That said, the many forms of resistance discussed in my circles include staying healthy and refusing despair. The Project 2025 thing is hideous; clearly created by people who are so deeply fearful of sharing resources that their own fear has turned to evil. If anyone in the US is reading this, please do as Jon asks here, and step up. Fight back. Use your gifts, the world needs you, we’re all in this. The future is yet to be written, let’s write a good one.

The fear you talk about looms large here in america with me and mine as well. It's a terrifying time here in the states. I appreciate you talking about it.

Thank you, Jon for having the courage to tell it like it is! So many people here in the US are like sheep following toxic dogma and not thinking for themselves. That makes me very afraid. This is not my country anymore.
Having hope is essential and sometimes I think that's all I can do. So it's great to know there are others around the world who see the real situation. Keep up the good work and the hope!!

Hey Jon, thanks for this video, as a trans person the world is something i worry about to the point where i sometimes struggle to find the will to keep going. The nature that is core to my spirituality seems to be negligible to the people in my country, and everyday life in society just feels wrong. I work in mental healthcare and see people lose themselves in "oh we have 10 sessions of 30 minutes each" and diagnosing people which i can clearly see just doesnt work. Human connection, genuine communication, humility and love seem so very distant.
I find hope in the people i love, those around me in whose eyes i see the same love for our world and being human. videos like yours and the community you build show me that there are more amazing people out there, and i look forward to meeting them!
Thank you, for the work you do and the inspiration that it brings.

Thank you for sharing Jon. I've been suffering from a bout of depression lately, and your video is greatly appreciated. I've felt disconnected from everything, and you've made me feel a little less alone and a tad more hopeful. Look after yourself, and hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day. Many thanks Kerry

My brother went to the immigration museum when he was doing study abroad in Ireland a few years ago. I'd love to see it if i can get there some day.
Thank you for your frank discussion about those feelings of fear. Hope and community will get us through it 💜

Thank you for this. I am in New York City and it is a frightening time in the US. It is important that you mentioned Project 2025. People need to know how horrible and dangerous this document is.

The only way we’ll get through this is together. Basically everyone I hear here in the US speaking on project 2025 is horrified by it, and I think it’s going to rally a lot of people to at the very least keep Trump out. Then again, the Supreme Court just granted the president the powers of a king (including unencumbered use of the military at the presidents sole and unreproachable discretion), so who knows what’s going to happen regardless.
If the empire falls, we will survive with community, and if Ireland is invaded, Ireland has won the love of millions around the world, and I know that love would be repaid if that happened. I can’t say it’s going to be okay, but I will say we will make it somehow.
May the gods be with us and uphold our sovereignty as we uphold theirs and the sovereignty of Ireland.

My mum is Scottish. Her family is there. My sisters and I could move there if the United States went crazy. But my kids are here and my grandbaby is here. I will stay where I am no matter what happens to make the country as safe as I can for them and other young people.

I struggle with anxiety and depression myself, and find it helpful not to listen to fear mongering type news. There are other ways of staying informed.
If you want someone very calming and hopeful to listen to (without being obnoxious ) I highly recommend “Beau of the fifth column” here on YT. He is of Irish heritage too!
Food for thought: it is the overturning of Roe v. Wade and subsequent political attempts to by state governments to further limit abortion that may help defeat Trump in the end. There are quite a few measures on ballots around the different states that will likely draw out voters who have otherwise given up just so that they can vote against these restrictive abortion measures. These people tend to vote more liberal. Another thing is that Trump is Distancing himself from project 25. He knows it’s not a good look for him.

Here in England I’m holding out hope that Labour will do better than the Conservatives at enabling more people’s welfare and wellbeing, despite fearing that they won’t, and that fear being grounded - even from a personal perspective, as a trans person with a prime minister in Keir Starmer who holds transphobic beliefs and a transphobic plan for the UK, just the same as Sunak. From one ambivert (thanks for the cool word to describe me!) to another, go raibh maith agat, a Jon.

Unfortunately, in the US in the last 20 years our selection of presidential candidates has gone from bad to worse to WTF?!?! I love my country and I firmly believe in the principals it was founded on. At the same time I see a serious problem with lack of intelligence and common sense, a major lack of critical thinking. IDK about the rest of the world but the US has become the movie Ideocracy. It saddens me that we have devolved so much.
I am curious as to why you think the US would invade Ireland if you know who gets elected, and what you think of the other candidate and if they are capable of doing the job. If you haven't watched the most recent debate I encourage you to do so. As I said our choices are shit, it makes me not even want to vote, the past few elections I've honestly felt like my vote was pointless and didn't matter because the outcome was so obvious. I do feel hopeless, I feel like no matter who wins, everyone loses. I wish you safe travels when you come to visit in November.

This Irish Pagan American will be voting against tRump AGAIN, as will my entire family (7 more votes)! I can only hope that my fellow countrymen will vote against him and his future dictatorship.
I had 2 uncles on my Dad's side who fought in WW2. MY family has a long history of fighting against Fascists and Dictators.
I am looking forward to meeting you and Lora in November. I have 5 members of my family who are being directly targeted in 25, so I too have fear of what could happen. But hopefully our fears will not come true.

I think if our government went after Ireland, they'd regret it soon after. There's too many Irish Americans/descendants here. It'd be civil war.
