Hi Peter - Fantastic video. In 1966 I was sixteen and I bought a Lambretta LI 150 to get me to work. After a couple of years I fell in love with a Vespa GS 160 Mk 2 and although it was a couple of years older than the Lambretta I just had to have it. It looked just like yours but with crash bars and racks and of course in the day you had to have ten spotlights and several mirrors. That was the best decision I ever made cos that scooter was amazing. It went on rallies and took me 120 miles each way every weekend to see my girlfriend ( who became my wife ) Eventually we traded the GS in to get a car ( If only I had known what I know now ) that was a big mistake. We spent some wonderful years and many thousands of miles on the GS and I only wish I could get another one now, but in England they are so rare and probably out of my price range. It is so good to see someone like you who has restored and given the Vespas a new lease of life. I would have loved a job like yours. Long may the business continue. All the best Dave.
Try getting one from Pakistan. Either old un restored to restore yourself or a complete restored one . Usually u will get p150s with 8 inch wheels or p150x with 10 inch wheels .
Finally, I was expecting this for you guys for a long time, this little bike sure deserves some of your fine footage!! These things are the most fun to drive, very reliable and a remarkable piece of design and engeneering! I have a ´76 Sprint Veloce, totally restored by the '70s standards and its my everyday ride. Had a 600km trip these summer and it was a blast!!!
Dear Petrolicious, I've always thought you were youtube's best channel. Now you have proven to me that you're more than that. Keep up this awesome job you're doing.
My dad just gave me his 86 Vespa NV150. I found it to be very different experience than a regular bike. Just hope i can keep it maintained like this guy.
I own TWO - both 1965 Vespa 150 Sprints (his & hers) -- both from Italy (not SE Asia) and, believe it or not, I enjoy them more than I did when I rode big Harleys. I think it's the lower center-of-gravity and their pure simplicity. They're definitely not intimidating, or "macho", and you can't take them on the freeway, but they definitely carry their own truly iconic cache to onlookers... and they're just SO much fun!! Really enjoyed the outstanding vintage Vespas displayed in your video! Jeez! I thought mine were cool, but so many within his garage (looking at that GS) make mine look tame.
I've loved the elegance and simplicity of the design of the Vespa...Petrolicious do more about 2 wheels, please. You'll find about the iconic German Kreidlers, the French Motobécanes (the Mobylettes blue and grey models), the 125 Morini, and many many other, from Ducati to Ossa.
This visualizes the same craziness, passion and love we have seen in your best video's, this time focussing on these beautiful scooters in the Netherlands. Very well done, thank you!
I have owned a Vespa 90, which had been in a shed for 15 years. I took a can of fresh petrol with the oil mixed in it. I drained the tank and filled it up, then it started on the third kick, and I rode it home. After that I sold it and bought a Rally 200, and also acquired a PX 125, so I had 2 Vespas on the road at the same time. The 125 was stolen, and I replaced it with a restored PX125E, which I still own today, but haven't ridden for 15 years. I parted with the Rally 200 after moving house and not having space for it, but that was definitely the best Vespa I ever had.
I'm a Kiwi rebuilding a PX200. This guy is living the dream! Currently traveling through Palermo, Sicily. Allot of scoots here including a mixture of LML star 2t and the new 4t. Very rear to see a lambretta though:(
Enormously charming and, as usual with Petrolicious, beautifully photographed. I am not all that interested in Vespas but the passion that Peter Maas shows fits right into the other videos here. My suggestion for two wheelers: a c. 1974 Laverda 750SFC cafe racer in Italy somewhere.
Nice to see your passion for the humble scooter with a business going on from the love of it brilliant used to just get people as transport to work nowadays a cult following great video thanks for sharing it with us ☺️☺️🍀🍀🍀🍀
Another fantastic video... because it calls to the subjective essence of driver and road. The sound, the visceral and emotional connection thereto. Whether on two or four wheels... or the durability of a 2CV or a HMMWV... ultimately, it makes no difference. Each is a reflection of the individual.
great video! I am a car guy and scooter guy. Love the classic Vespa design ... and understand what he is talking about. absolute fun riding experience!
Leuk weetje!
I bought one when I was 19, liked it a lot even it never worked quite well, there was something wrong with the carburettor but, anyway, I went everywhere with it... One day my father took it for a ride, after a while someone knocked the door, it was my father, he was dirty and his clothes were torn, someone picked and took him home, we took him at the doctor and later the same day we went to "rescue" the Vespa, it was all bent and full of broken parts down in a steep fileld next to the road... Fixed it the best I could without spending a lot and sold it, that was its story, and at least my father was fully recovered from the accident, it seems the rear wheel lost ground in that wet curve and he just fell....
These are cool when you need alternative transportation or just want to have a little thrill....Sophia Loren rode one in a movie i'll never forget that. These are special scooters of a time period when they were made. Thanks to this guys passion- somone does truly care // fantastic.
A Very Neat Story and this Guy and His Love for all these 0l' Scooters and His Grand Fathers Shop. Very Touching and I think These are the Next to The Best Thing to Being There Ourselves. A Great Video.................=)
As usual a great video from Petrolicious, even if it is about a subject I don't care much about. Never liked scooters and somehow Vespas came to be inexorably linked, in my mind, to hipsters; skinny jeans, unkempt beards and stripey t-shirts, that sort of thing. Keep up the good work, Petrolicious. #drivetastefully
Spot on keep them looking traditional I always thought you had to add to them but I love mine simple but with just 2 mirrors added always want to know whos behind me ............ Love em brilliant bikes
I bought my first Vespa, a PK50XL from '86, two weeks ago...and I noticed that there is petrol in the transmission-oil. Now I have to rebuild the engine...I guess I am having a bumpy start with my old girl >.< ^.^
How seriously cool, great to see Petrolicious branching out to the two wheels. Now for a video hopefully on classic Ducatis of the 60s and 70s. My brother in law has had a series of Ducati V-twins. His current rides are a '73 750GT and a '72 750 SS. I would love a Vespa or even a modern version like the Piaggio Fly 125/150. Scooters are so good to ride. Just for the record out here in Oz, Harleys are called Hardly Fergusons !! :)
Having owned several Vespas in my life, it seems your rim is the wrong way round at 0:58, the concave section should face towards the brake drum, exposing the fins to the air flow.

That sound is world class. Unforgettable. Timeless. Beautiful.
One sincere search thru our grandparents work shop can form a lifetime ...
Dear Petrolicious, I've always thought you were youtube's best channel. Now you have proven to me that you're more than that. Keep up this awesome job you're doing.
❤️❤️ great story! I just bought a 64 GS160, can’t wait to restore it!
I used my 1966 Vespa SS180 as a daily driver for two years and 25,000 miles.
My dad just gave me his 86 Vespa NV150. I found it to be very different experience than a regular bike. Just hope i can keep it maintained like this guy.
Vespa forever . loved the video . my grandfather had one too , so many good memories . love it more and more as it fades away in time

Vespa's are addicting,at one point in my life I had about 30,and at least half of them were rideable, and one was licensed!
If you have one of these it's hard not to fall in love with it.
Vespa - forever young !!! Lifestyle at his best !!!
A little different from the usual selection of cars but I like it. Thanks for the post!
Well done, a great story. He's a lucky man to make a living out of something he's so passionate about.
Beautiful, we have two Vespa beauties. Enjoyed the film and very envious of your collection and space.

This makes me want to buy one right now.

This channel is awesome, I love that you guys admire old metal of all forms!
I'm a Kiwi rebuilding a PX200. This guy is living the dream! Currently traveling through Palermo, Sicily. Allot of scoots here including a mixture of LML star 2t and the new 4t.

Lol, usually the story is the other way around, the son crashes the father's toys. :D
An old myth in my circumstance that a crash bike or car is not good to ride by owner in the future. It should be sold to.
Love your videos everyone of them!! great work of photography and storytelling
Las vespas es el mejor invento italiano que contagió el mundo entero
I admire these people and this channel!! Keep up the great work guys, let's not let this planet end up into a " "Robotisation"
