- Hoyt Alpha X Bow Review, Bow Build, and Chrono.
So far I am loving the new Hoyt Alpha X 33" ATA.
This bow is incredibly smooth all around and holds on target super well.
Let me know below your questions and what type of content you want to see moving forward!
I went into my local archery shop with my heart set on buying a lift 33 but after putting a few arrows through both the lift and the alpha x, I bought the Hoyt and i couldn't be happier. I love it!!
I did the exact same thing
I just purchased the Alpha X 30. I visited a reputable archery shop with an open mind and no brand loyalty and shot both the comparable Bow Tech and the Matthews Lift. The Hoyt cam and back wall felt incredibly smooth. Began with the 85% let off and decided to back it down to the 80% setting. The accessories made by Hoyt to go on this bow sealed the deal. My last bow was a Matthews and I purchased it for the same reason at the time. All the domestic manufactures now have incredible equipment and it come down to personal preference.
Hey dude!! I am the guy that ran into at TNT when you were getting set up. Glad I found your channel. NIce video!
Epic!! Appreciate the kind words bro!
I’m left handed so I don’t have much opportunity to shop for feel by personal comparison . I ordered a lift in January . Shot alpha x 2 weeks ago , both are sitting in my basement , Hoyt feels a lot better / more stable . Back wall is amazing no “ want to jump “ like the lift has . Lift will likely be my backup bow .
Good point of view! The little boy inside of me really would like the Alpha X 33. Looks fantastic. But hey, my Ventum 33 from 2021 puts out the same speed and I am comfortable with it. And I am 55 years old. Gotta tell that little boy to shut up 😁
Amen, I love my ventum pro. Also running a 500gr arrow and have had great success w that weight. Goodluck this season!
I love the 500 grain range! Seems to perform well in many areas for me! The ventum pro is a beast of a bow! Appreciate the support and good luck to you as well 👊
@@Tyjjordan
I currently shoot the ventum pro 33 with 500 gr arrow with a 28 inch draw. I was wondering with the #2 mod on the alpha x which maximize the mod at 28 whether or not the speeds would be faster? Currently at about 260 fps. Would love to be at 280 not only for hunting but for target. Just wondering how maxing the mods would affect performance and feel? With the ventum pro the 28 is on the lower middle of the mod. Thanks
I just bought a brand new Darton Maverick XT 62lbs and I absolutely love it! Shoots great and it feels great.
Good review, keep it up and keep being honest. That alone will set you apart from the others. 👌👌👌👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Appreciate the kind words brother!
Just bought this bow in the same color yesterday! Using an Axel landslyde for a scope. Shoots great
Heck yeah! Love this color
Great video. I am sticking with my Mathews V3X 29. I just installed a new Gass string set with my press. The market is making some great bows but none of them do better than what I currently have. At least not enough to invest all that money.
You should do a comparison of the lift and phase 4. Love the honest reviews.
I can definitely do that! I will work on getting one filmed next week 💪
@@Tyjjordan i upgraded to the phase 4 last year and absolutely love it. So quiet and dead in the hand. So smooth. But i do alot of hunting and a lighter bow would sure be handy!
I’m still shooting a RX4 and love it. I have been looking at the new RX eight. I’ve always shot Hoyt the are pricey. Thanks for the honesty
I would have bought an rx8 this year (such a smooth bow) but there’s part of me that can not justify the price point at all.
You should run our picatinny conversion mount for the spot hogg.. slim that setup right up 👍
I have the original Ventum 30, this is the first year that I have truely thought about updating. I have been holding off b/c I don't feel like any are too big of a upgrade to what I have. The Lift is really calling me though I guess I should go shoot it.
Definitely shoot the lift! I picked up a lift this year as well, I should have a vid up by next week on it! If you’re in the market for a new bow I would definitely shoot both side by side, I noticed the hold on my lift is a little different than my hoyts, so it is definitely a different shooting experience
Running a Hoyt Carbon Defiant 34. The one bow that hasn’t seemed to age like the rest.
Carbon Defiant is such a nice bow!
Your back!! Wow I thought you were one of them guys that posted some good videos and disappeared lol..
Please get your hands on Mathew’s, Bowtech and elite
Haha I picked up a Mathew’s lift as well review coming soon!
Also already filmed the bowtech review!
Appreciate the support!
I just bought an Elite Ethos. Haven’t shot it yet BUT I’ve seen some RUclips videos where the Ethos was quieter than Mathews or Hoyt.
Shooting one tonight! Heard nothing but good things about it, excited!!! Congrats on the new bow brother!
Where can I find these videos?
@@Journey_of_Abundancesearch for it.
I totally agree.i shot the lift and the alpha x 30.i bought the hoyt alpha x 30 because it fit me the best.all bow manufacturers are putting out incredible bows.like you said ty you have to shoot them and see what fits you the best.anotyer awsome video. 💯👈👍
Thanks for watching the video, appreciate the support! How are you liking your alpha X so far? Such a sweet balanced bow!
I have a 2008 maxxis 35 I love and shoots amazing still but I’ve really been wanting to get an 85% let off bow but I’ve noticed they are slower with my arrow. Also not sure how bad timing would be with the cables it has and needing different sized spacers for cam lean tuning. The split buss seems to make tuning really easy. I’m telling you buying a new bow every year isn’t necessary but going from that 75% let off to 85% may be an upgrade for me.
Great advice! I shot the alpha x 33 and the Lift 33 side by side and personally liked the Lift a little more, so that’s the one I went with. At 70lb and 30.5” draw it’s shooting a 545g arrow at 275. Loving it so far.
Heck yeah brother! I also picked up a lift this year, I will be doing some videos with it here soon! That’s fast, excited to see what speeds I can get out of it and do a solid comparison between the lift and alpha x!
Interesting I shot the lift next to the alpha x 30 and bought a alpha
Former Mathews guy, but I have an Rx-8 on order 🤟🏻
As a qualified engineer and keen bow hunter, I have not seen any serious design innovation/improvements since the Prime dual cam, single limb models, culminating in the Centergy 33 and Centergy Hybrid. Both these bows had test proven zero integral torque. The Centergy 33 is the only compound bow I have encountered wherein the horizontal structural centreline of the rest aligns perfectly with the horizontal centreline of the sight pin housing, which, in turn aligns perfectly with string nock and vertical riser/ limb centreline to give point of impact along a perfectly vertical line on the target.
Zero integral torque should be mandatory for all bow designs; particularly top of the range flagship bows.
Would you knowingly buy a hunting rifle that had to be tuned to compensate for sideways barrel whip as each bullet was traversing the barrel?
I have a Hoyt RX7 #88 for hunting and a RX7 Ultra 70# for 3D and target shooting
I've been shooting a hot carbon spyder 34 since it's release, might be time to upgrade.
Wouldn’t be a disappointing upgrade! What are you thinking about going with??
Shot the Lift, Alpha X, and the Ethos back to back the other day. The Ethos was the winner for me.
I have yet to shoot the ethos, really want to though!
I went into my local archery shop today looking for alpha x30 and they have available the alpha x33. I’m not sure if the long bow will be comfortable to me hunting on my tree stand. What do you think will be better for whitetail on the tree stand. X30 or X33?
Why don't you take that big stabilizer off and put a 6" in front of the go-stix. it will reduce the total weight and bring the stabilizer weight almost 2" forward and much lower. Then you can use the 10" in the back
How does it compare to the RX3 turbo?
I have a diamond sb1 edge was my first bow and idk if I should upgrade to a new bow
Still shooting my 2011 Hoyt alpha elite… honestly don’t feel it’s worth upgrading while this bow is still excellent to shoot
I haven’t owned the go stiks but I shoot hoyt , I always thought it was a terrible idea letting the cam contact the ground , honestly couldn’t understand why Hoyt designed them like that originally they know how easy the cams can get nicked and damage the string
If you run a front stabilizer on the bottom bracket you can actually use what they call the “tripod” function where it brings the cam 5-6” off the ground, but the original cam resting on the ground is a terrible idea 😅
Mathews Title for 2024
Such a sick bow!
Well said my friend. Appreciate honest advice. Rare these days.
Is this at tnt in St. George
i really dont like the riser design if they can make it more st8 up and down
Hoyt Alpha X33 coming.
Going with elite
A bow last longer than 6 years they actually last a lifetime if you don't break them and to be honest there isn't that big of a difference between a 6 year old bow than what's out now and I got a vtm
With all that said why did you buy that buy when you could have bought a $500 bow? And if you would then which one would you buy for $500? A complete bow setup.
Bear Adapt
@@stephengatley8144 have you thought about creating content around the Bear Adapt and great add on that are midrange pricing?
Honestly from my personal experiences I won’t spend more that 50% of the ticket price of a bow on a sight, quiver and arrow rest maybe even a stabilizer and dampeners. Arrows and releases would be on a separate bill.
Z1S for 2024
Solid bow!
Hoyt Ventum 33 for 2024.
No PSE ???
Waiting for the dealer to get the new ones in!
What do you mean a
Hoyt making great bows but cant compare with Mathews tehnology. Its just totally another level and every detail on Lift or older bow is maded with high quality.
What do you mean a bow is going to last 3, 4 to 5 years? I have been shooting the same bow since 2002. 21 years and all I’ve done is put a new string on it when needed. You Gen z kids really are delusional.
I think it’s great that you like your bow and I’m sure it kills.
100 arrows a night for a week straight, you shoulders had to be a little sore bubba
That’s why we workout
@@mikevillarreal9973 i agree but sometimes you can over do it i feel like.
