    Perfect timing! I’m fixing our district gravel roads this week. Got started this morning and that old dresser sprang a leak. Should probably fix that first. Lol

    I place my gravel spread on the tire track from first pass, traffic will push the gravel out, I don’t want to place it too far .. good job operator 👍🏾

    Awesome videos sir. I’m
    Actually in South Dakota working on a Wind Farm and I run a 140m. I don’t
    Do many roads or much gravel. But i do a lot of reclaiming. These videos are super informal.

    • @graderman140m
      @graderman140m  Год назад

      @Connor I’ve honestly never bladed the way you just described so as far as lining up and everything really don’t know what to tell you and as far as cutting if your in second gear diff locked and front wheel drive on should have no problem cutting lots of material unless it’s extremely hard also while cutting your moldboard pitch is very important if you haven’t watched the video titled gravel road maintenance manual go watch that video it will help you out a lot hope this helps thanks for watching.

    How do you blade intersection turns where it’s been racetracked and banked steep? How do you make the turn and keep everything level? Also how should an intersection crown and approach level be?

    THANK YOU MATE!!! Exactly what I was going to ask. How do you transition across the centre line smoothly as in how to take the windrow across without cutting out the centre line, while maintaining your cross fall of 3..4% ? Oh small suggestion... please move away from the MOTOR/WIND Noise, I can't hear the detailed explanations. Cheers and I replied to your email. take care bud.

      Adrian Nettlefold thanks for the suggestion the wind has been crazy this fall here been solid 25 to 30 mph wind do my best to not get wind noise in the videos.

      If that’s the method that works for you that’s great ik for sure nobody runs a blade the same long as you got a good 4% crown and a nice shape to the road that’s all that matters thanks for watching.

    From Canada and as we get close to winter season we or I tight blade the road and pick the steepest side and drop the excess gravel over that side so the wing does not blow the gravel into the ditch way to far to pick up and now when spring comes I pull the shoulder and all my gravel is there ( WHAT DO YOU DO WITH THE SO CALLED LAST PASS ??)

    • @graderman140m
      @graderman140m  3 года назад

      I feather my windrows out in the fall of the year on all my roads as far as my last pass goes I do leave that small maintenance windrow on the edge of the road I find it critical to maintain your crown and you always have something to work with.

    I don’t understand why you don’t just drag heavy chains over the road behind a truck or tractor. The guys that do the blading in my area, their rig shakes with the waves in the road and they simply make it worse.

    • @graderman140m
      @graderman140m  2 года назад +1

      Well if there doing that they are obviously not maintaining the roads as they should believe me you can definitely just blade over the washboards and fill them in and in 2 hrs there worse then what they were I cut all my washboards out and then relay everything making it nice and smooth so it all depends on who’s in the blade and what kind of job there wanting to do. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching

    • @raymondmejias7839

      There going to fast. Leaves wash boarding. Roads should be scarified to mix fines with clay and stones.

    The graded roads around here are always real bumpy when they’re done, it’s really annoying…why is that btw?

    • @graderman140m
      @graderman140m  Год назад

      That’s no good and I’d say if it rough when they get done blading it is there probably going to fast causing the machine to bounce or there not cutting the road out enough and relaying it correctly causing the road to be rough thanks for watching.

    Question for you, when you’re grading and you rotate the blade for what ever the reason, does the end toe or heel dig in?is this normal,or is something out of adjustment,or am I doing something wrong?

    • @graderman140m
      @graderman140m  3 года назад

      Yes your toe or the heel will dig in when you rotate your circle unless your on completely level ground you just have to adjust your hell or toe as you rotate your circle.

    • @graderman140m
      @graderman140m  3 года назад

      So couple questions I have for you is do you have 14ft moldboard? Also how wide are the roads if there under that 20ft mark it’s definitely a challenge to properly maintain that narrow of a road I will try and get a video put together here for you our weather is changing quick this fall got 6 inches of snow on the way starting tonight.

    • @blackpineservices5101
      @blackpineservices5101 3 года назад +1

      14’ mouldboard and yes there around 20’ hard to keep a crown and make them look good. Must be Canada if you got snow already

    • @graderman140m
      @graderman140m  3 года назад

      @@blackpineservices5101 ok a 20 foot road you should be able to 2 pass blade that same way I blade my wider roads and unfortunately I’m long ways south of Canada in in SE South Dakota.
