I heard these compared to the top of the line (meaning most $) and the 10 inch one was smokin' the competition! I grabbed em, 2 days later, I picked 2 of these up. They're really unbelievable! As a drummer, I can use 1 as a stage monitor for a decent sized venue, or 2 for main speakers. As long as Alto keeps pushing out products like these, they're gonna take over the industry. (They make up to 18's)
I've had my TS115 over 5 years and they are still sounding good, they even protect them self when you giving the high to much out put, they go off until you lower the volume. Recently bought a pair of TS215 and I wish I would of known they were going to come out with TS3. I also play mine with a Pioneer DDJ-SB and Serato DJ Pro, they sound so good that you almost never need a graphic EQ, the contour is enough unless you need to cut the low end when you have subs witch is recommended so that the speaker can give you a little more out put.

A close friend of mine wanted to upgrade his mobile set up and bought 2 pairs of the Alto TS115A's a year ago, he Dj'd a New Years gig for about 200 revellers, he said the evening went well but it wasn't enough power, especially the bass (its all about the bass) I said to him why not buy 2 x 18" active subs but he didn't want to buy a larger vehicle. So being involved with larger sound systems myself he wondered if they can be improved, so he bought a pair over and we replaced the cheap 15 inch driver for a 'Eminence Kappa 15LF' which a happen to have, albeit a lot more cost the difference along side the other cabinet was impressive, so with all 4 now converted its a lot lot better, personally I would of gone with additional subs. I would pay more and choose HK Audio, Turbosound, EV, RCF, JBL, Yamaha, FBT, dB Technlogies, QSC they have a better build quality, why Alto call their speakers professional I have no idea, steer clear of cheap cabs like Behringer, LD Systems, Phonic, Proel, Echo, Skytec these won't last long, remember they are built to a price.
When I do weddings I use EV subs. You don't get the full low end feel from speakers on stands. I like these because they can handle songs with lots of low end without clipping or distortion.
Definitely Michael, some night clubs install EV cabs, (Electro-voice) my very first gig was in 1977 and like you did the weddings plus just about everything else, but alongside those gigs I ran and promoted Jazzfunk and Soul nights twice a week, upgrading the sound system 3 times within 2 years to go larger through necessity more people more power required, as you say although convenient speakers on stands are just not good enough you'll always want a sub or 2. its nice to have a bit of power in reserve. Going back to the early 80's I don't recall seeing active cabs back then, so I used a 4 way active crossover with 4 x H&H amps, 4 x JBL 15" scoops, 4 x JBL Mid flares cabs, 2 x JBL 2441 with a lens horn, 2 pairs of JBL 2405 slot tweeters for the top end, the sound was awesome with only 1500 watts RMS, the bass from the scoops was probably 3 times louder than the best 15" compact on the market, these days I'm still running 4 way active using Yamaha P7000 amps but with 2 x 21" Subs (PD2150) 2 x 18" Bass, 4 x 10" Mids & 4 x 1.5" compression horns but even using the full power of 5Kw my older kit was much louder, the only downfall was the bulkiness as it was more than double the size, that is why most people choose active cabs being the norm. I can email you some photo's of all this kit if you're interested.
CJ Toh: Yes you're right 2,000 watts peak 1,000 watts RMS, again feeding 650 watts into a 12" woofer with only a 3" voice coil won't last long, it will cook, most quality 12" drivers have a 4" voice coil with good venting to keep it cool, Alto haven't found the answer for a more powerful drivers they use cheap pressed steel units similar to SkyTec they need the power to make them sound loud together with very little sound proofing internally to prevent standing waves bouncing about in the cabinet, so your'e having some reflective sound from within the plastic cabinet summing with the front, I have changed the cheap speakers on the 15" versions to far more efficient drivers such as the Eminence Kappa 15LF for a Dj friend of mine and stuck acoustic convoluted foam internally which gave them a far better sound and louder. I'm yet to find any tweeter manufacturer that has a driver to take 350 watts RMS, have you seen the size of this tweeter, its tiny it will fit in the palm of your hand and so inefficient obviously it needs that sort of power to make it sound loud, god knows what the voice coil is made of, I use the JBL 2425 compression drivers, feed 50 watts at 2kHz and beyond will punish your eardrums, I also have a spare JBL 2447 compression driver, one of the largest available, look it up they are huge and weigh 14Kgs and that's rated at only 150 watts RMS with a sensitivity of 111dB with 1 watt @ 1 meter, regarding the Alto tweeter there is no specification details anywhere on the web, I doubt if its a true compression driver as you can't change the diaphragm, only buy the complete unit for £60. As I mentioned before how can Alto call their speakers Professional as they are using cheap components and drivers, very good PR that's all I can say, buy cheap buy twice. I love to hear the amount of people that has bought this brand and regretted it.
Do you think one of these is good enough to play for a house/dorm party? Room is about 200sqft, do you think this would be able to full the room loudly for a party? or would I need a second?
Hi I have a question do think this will give a good sounds for 300 people indoor? Does it give a good Bass? Am a new DJ playing weddings and private parties.
Hi I do like your review on these powered speakers, I myself have never heard of alto, as for years it has always been and still to this day my Dynacord powermax P5 system without and issues once its system amp is kept serviced, I recently purchased the yamaha stagepas 1k's, great for small enough pubs, but it's that bloody red clipping light and volume and clarity dropping significantly is an absolute pain, never this issue with my P5, now these alto speakers you have them quite a while now, so with regards to the clip light coming on and from another post I read that they protect themselves, let's say your blasting these out at a party and your settings as you have them here in this video but your master on mixer turned to 12 o clock position for over 2 hours will the clip light start to dance and power decrease, You see companies are great to tell you how good their speakers are but they never say Oh if your running constantly for over 2 hours they may start to clip, so I'm anxious to read your view now on these, or is it better go for the alto 15's 🤔
Power does decrease after a couple hours. They are loud speakers but the continuous power at 3/4 capacity lasts for about 3 hours. The harder you push them the power decreases a little. The clipping light comes on when the bass hits real hard. The song would have to have a lot of low end tho for that to happen. These are 12" woofers so they aren't going to handle a lot of bass like 18" subs would. Use these as tops for 18" subs and it will sound great in a big room. Small rooms they will do very well by themselves.
is it normal for the speaker to have a loud buzzing sound when the speaker isn’t playing anything? Even with a song playing the buzzing get super loud.
Hello, plesee I would like to ask.. I have a similar setup to yours but would you recommend I plug the controller straight up to the speakers then to the base or straight to the bass then to the speakers
nice gig log, do you plan on doing gig with them or are they just for the house ? or have you done gigs with them, id like too see them at a gig. all speakers react different with bodies in the room. a friend of mine has the 8 inch version, and I was impressed. so if you get a chance. id like too see them at a gig. thanks
hi, i have 2 ts12subs and 2 opera 15. im looking to buy 2 lighter tops but cant decide between the 10 and 12 inch. which one do you think is better to use with the 12 subs? thanks
I have just got this speaker, one question I have is that the cord I got is a 3.5mm jack to 2 bigger Jack's, I think there 1/4 inch jack maybe?. Anyway do I plug both the bigger Jack's into both the speaker input. So are they like RCA's where one is left and one right. And if that's the case can i turn both volumes nobs up on the one speaker. Thanks .
You have the wrong cable you either need a single quarter inch jack to a single 3.5mm jack or a single xlr to a single 3.5mm jack. That is if you're going straight into the back of rhe speaker with a 3.5mn out connection from your audio device.
Awesome vid! I have the TS212 15" Powered Speaker, and when its plugged into my dj controller, I hear a buzzing sound even when no music is playing? Any idea on how to fix that?
That's a grounding issue. Frequency issue. What is your equipment plugged into? Do you have lights plugged in to the same power strip as the dj setup or speakers?
Michael DJ Sha-boo Napier thanks so much for responding. Im praying u can help me! I have the speaker plugged into it’s own outlet in my wall. Ive tried other spots around my room but get the same result. Any advice?
You gotta get an spl meter then raise the volume to when the limit light blinks a little bit and measure the sound pressure at 1 meter. Playing the speaker thru the mic is not gonna help anybody because the mic does not hear like we hear at all.
Hi, do I need an amp to run this speaker? Or will it work of my cellphone or DVD player? I was thinking of getting the Yamaha rs202 receiver/amplifier and connecting this speaker , will I need different cables, or I don't need a receiver at all for these speakers?
hi dj sha-boo napier i was wondering how the speakers are doing now 1 year later. i'm a dj from the uk, london and i'm thinking of buying a pair of these to go with my alto 15in bass box, what is your opinion on them now ???? great video by the way
This speakers are better than the harbingers no doubt but if I could ,I would use some EV and leave this for monitors . These speakers are great but they have some issues with the tweeter other than than the sound is okay for the price but then again if u want better quality sound get some evs
You think with 2 of these speakers, I can get a 300 person crowd to feel that bass in their chest? That’s what I’m lookin for. I mis house music and dubstep and other edm. I need that bass to be felt not only heard
i ordered these was best for starter cause if i do gigs i know they punch loud not worry 2000 watts is enough so its almost 4000 watts all tougher when you get 2 of them hooked up
Alto TS312/TS315: 2000 watts (peak, 1300 LF + 700 HF), 1000 watts (continuous, 650 LF + 350 HF), this means that it has only 500W RMS power! Kind regards
Hi, do I need an amp to run this speaker? Or will it work of my cellphone or DVD player? I was thinking of getting the Yamaha rs202 receiver/amplifier and connecting this speaker , will I need different cables, or I don't need a receiver at all for these speakers?
No, you need a 6.3mm mono. Else, if you don't have any mixer or console that can splt your signal, you have better buying a jack to xlr cable. That you can connect to your phone aswell
Hey guys just bought an Alto TS310 in September 2021, the amp blew up on the first day, fuse gone and electronic panel damaged, Still waiting for a response from Alto support..Let’s hope they contact me and offer to do the necessary, what a mess
Should run your speaker on 0 not full volume just so u can have more head room and less distortion because if u keep turning it up on the controller not Gona be good sound 🔊👌

@@djshaboo I've tried it both ways with my phone volume down then re-plugged with my phone volume up. i also found that on the 1/4" adapter, when i put the 3.5mm cable in half way, i can sort of hear the sound come all the way through. the sound isnt as clear as i would like, but it does come through. i just want to be sure that i am able to play music from a phone with the 1/4" jack.

The speakers being reviewed are TS312 2000 watts peak. TS115A's are different. They're only 600 watts peak if I remember correctly.
Room is about 200sqft, do you think this would be able to full the room loudly for a party? or would I need a second?
hi michael thanks for sharing !!!
Can this also use for entertainment program for the holiday resorts
1000 WRMS my Arse ALTO.! please start posting on here people when you blow a tweeter or something else with these new line of speakers. thanks
Hi I have a question do think this will give a good sounds for 300 people indoor? Does it give a good Bass? Am a new DJ playing weddings and private parties.
For 300 folks I would add at least one if not two subs. 15 or 18s
Ten years one is blown the other still jams
The parts are easy to replace
Hey Michael so after three years what do you say about these. I’m ready to pick one up
Still $300 I saw at guitar center
Worth the money. I still use mine for indoor and outdoor gigs.
Going today to pick up my second one. Thanks bro.
Hi I do like your review on these powered speakers, I myself have never heard of alto, as for years it has always been and still to this day my Dynacord powermax P5 system without and issues once its system amp is kept serviced,
I recently purchased the yamaha stagepas 1k's, great for small enough pubs, but it's that bloody red clipping light and volume and clarity dropping significantly is an absolute pain,
never this issue with my P5,
now these alto speakers you have them quite a while now, so with regards to the clip light coming on and from another post I read that they protect themselves, let's say your blasting these out at a party and your settings as you have them here in this video but your master on mixer turned to 12 o clock position for over 2 hours
will the clip light start to dance and power decrease,
You see companies are great to tell you how good their speakers are but they never say
Oh if your running constantly for over 2 hours they may start to clip, so I'm anxious to read your view now on these, or is it better go for the alto 15's 🤔
Are you still using this speaker included to your video
is it normal for the speaker to have a loud buzzing sound when the speaker isn’t playing anything? Even with a song playing the buzzing get super loud.
nice video bro,
Hello, plesee I would like to ask.. I have a similar setup to yours but would you recommend I plug the controller straight up to the speakers then to the base or straight to the bass then to the speakers
Berenger b 615 or Alto TS 315 which is more powerful
Just got mine ,cool!
nice gig log, do you plan on doing gig with them or are they just for the house ? or have you done gigs with them, id like too see them at a gig. all speakers react different with bodies in the room. a friend of mine has the 8 inch version, and I was impressed. so if you get a chance. id like too see them at a gig. thanks
These are my primary speakers. I use them every weekend. They still sound great. No issues.
thanks appreciate the quick response
You still using them Altos in 22
hi, i have 2 ts12subs and 2 opera 15. im looking to buy 2 lighter tops but cant decide between the 10 and 12 inch. which one do you think is better to use with the 12 subs? thanks
Have you played them longer than 1 hour continuous, to see if they handle the heat?
I've played them for 5 hours during a birthday party in an open area. They still sound great. The continuous sound is amazing.
Hey Dj Sha-boo, so you've had these for about 3 months now, are they still bumping or do you feel they tire out after a few hours playing?
Still working great. Still have a clear sound
I have 6 those spikers work great and I recommend , Alto mixer sounds more better, is a good spikers
powerful controller?. is just a controller throughout software commands your serato or record box or stc... They are pretty good.
That is if you're going straight into the back of rhe speaker with a 3.5mn out connection from your audio device.
sounds good
let the knob to 0db man..... increase db on other devices in the chain....
Hi ! Can i use Aldo Ts -308 as home theater center speaker !Thanks.
Spinal tap Volume 11 siiiiiiick!!!!
Any advice?
Hello, I am just wondering what cables are you using from the speaker to the deck ? :)
I'm using rca to xlr cables
Michael DJ Sha-boo Napier Thank you , could you send me a pic of how your set up is :)
Are these good for electric drums for a wedding/function band?
Yes
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Alto ts315 or mackie thump 15a?
You gotta get an spl meter then raise the volume to when the limit light blinks a little bit and measure the sound pressure at 1 meter. Playing the speaker thru the mic is not gonna help anybody because the mic does not hear like we hear at all.
Hi, do I need an amp to run this speaker? Or will it work of my cellphone or DVD player?
I was thinking of getting the Yamaha rs202 receiver/amplifier and connecting this speaker , will I need different cables, or I don't need a receiver at all for these speakers?
No. Do NOT plug an amp into theses. They are self powered, aka active speakers.
very nice, my dream speaker and turntable. but i can't afford.
Sorry? There were no turntables in this video... Do u mean the controller?
Is it good with bass and can you run it without a mixer
It handles bass well for a 12" speaker. It's powered so you don't need a mixer. It has xlr and 1/4 " input
Michael DJ Sha-boo Napier thanks!!!!!
hi dj sha-boo napier i was wondering how the speakers are doing now 1 year later. i'm a dj from the uk, london and i'm thinking of buying a pair of these to go with my alto 15in bass box, what is your opinion on them now ???? great video by the way
This speakers are better than the harbingers no doubt but if I could ,I would use some EV and leave this for monitors .
This speaker can take than that I the speaker it's very very powerful
How about the bass response do I need a sub or is it enough?
It handles bass well but you would need subs so you don't overwork them
i ordered these was best for starter cause if i do gigs i know they punch loud not worry 2000 watts is enough so its almost 4000 watts all tougher when you get 2 of them hooked up
What kind of cord are you using
RCA to XLR
Trivia: What is 901 Shelby Drive?
Hello I like it
Good coment
The cable for the speaker where did you get it at?
Amazon
@@djshaboo like what type is it?
How much you paid for yours at that time?
$250
Alto TS312/TS315: 2000 watts (peak, 1300 LF + 700 HF), 1000 watts (continuous, 650 LF + 350 HF), this means that it has only 500W RMS power!
Kind regards
continue is rms
so a 1000 watt rms
Hi, do I need an amp to run this speaker? Or will it work of my cellphone or DVD player?
I was thinking of getting the Yamaha rs202 receiver/amplifier and connecting this speaker , will I need different cables, or I don't need a receiver at all for these speakers?
@@fwillemsen1 he had me lost for a second
What was your serato volume at tho for your tracks
Auto gain is at 95 db in Serato
you can't go wrong with numark and alto is a win win but I'm try to decide on the alto PS 315 or the Mackie srm650 s
I just got ts310s
I need 2 ts312 2000 watts 12 inch loud
and 2 ts3155 2000 or 2500 watts 15 inch sub.
Can i use normal jack input for this ?(the phone jack) please tell me asp
No, you need a 6.3mm mono. Else, if you don't have any mixer or console that can splt your signal, you have better buying a jack to xlr cable. That you can connect to your phone aswell
Come on men...300 people with there two?? This isnt movie 300 ...
Hey guys just bought an Alto TS310 in September 2021, the amp blew up on the first day, fuse gone and electronic panel damaged,
Still waiting for a response from Alto support..Let’s hope they contact me and offer to do the necessary, what a mess
Damn.....MIne are still working (fingers crossed) Did you have them in extreme heat?
Should run your speaker on 0 not full volume just so u can have more head room and less distortion because if u keep turning it up on the controller not Gona be good sound 🔊👌
I used my Pioneer ddj-sx with them at a birthday party in a train station. They filled the train station with a nice low end sound. I love these speakers.
help me please. what cable do i use to connect my phone? i tried a 1/4" to 3.5mm cable and adapter and i get bad sound. not sure if my speaker is defective.
Make sure your phone volume isn't too high. Turn up the speaker volume first then the phone.
The salesman in the store used 3.5 to 1/4 to test the speaker before I purchased it. The display model sounded great. That's why I bought it. You might wanna check that input
@@djshaboo i thought so. i dont know much of these speakers and this is the first powered speaker i ever bought so i've been trying to get answers. thank you very much!
Jay Em bro, the cable you are using is okay except the 1/4 cable. Get the 3.5mm stereo for your cello and 1/4mono to your speaker and am sure it’ll work and make you happy
where are you from? i want steal your speakers my big black bro
Advice - Jump into the actual review a lil quicker. The first half of the review is not actually the review.
Love the speaker, planning on getting just one for my one man band ( keys and vocals), need something, reasonably priced and easy to use.
BUT PLEASE.... TELL ME THATBIG RED "2000" sign on the front comes off, sorry but with that look it reminds me of something from Costco
It's just a sticker. It comes off
