It looks amazing. Even though it's expensive I could get my head around that if it weren't for the subscription cost that it comes with. Literally everything is going that way now with subscriptions. Unfortunately these days they are _defaulting_ to requiring a subscription that you then have to cancel, which sucks. Even though the hardware seems good, ironically they depend on internet connection for control, which isn’t very resilient. So if they go belly-up and their servers go down, so does your bed temp control. Of course there are privacy concerns too, but to me… it seems unnecessary for simpler usage, e.g. I just want it to go to [x] temp when I get in bed and always go to [y] temp at [z] time, etc.
How do you go about keeping the cover clean? Regardless if you shower before bed I can’t imagine sleeping on the same “cover” for two years is hygienic. Do you have a light cover over it?
Won't detect me getting out of bed so rises to almost 94 degrees with an empty bed 2 hours later. Waste of electricity. Support never could help, just ignored the messages or sent some canned lines, and omg, the spam emails they send when you buy one. 2 or 3 spam messages a day asking you to buy a second. It's nice on cold nights, for sure, but I am not sure the money is worth it with the bad support I get - even to the point they auto-reply every question with "send us too many messages and we will put you at the end of the queue".
That is interesting. I have never had to work with support so I don’t have any background to share but that would take away from the experience. Honestly, have not really had many people complain about support so hoping this is a one off but does not sound great.
I don't really lose internet so I can't say I have tested that (I have never had issues). It has lost connection a couple times where I could not connect via the app on my phone, but the schedule still seemed to work so it did what it normally does. I unplugged and plugged back in and it came right back. This has only happened a couple times in over 2 years though so very rare.
This one might make her very happy! If you decide to get it, I hope it works our great for you! Regardless, I hope you find something that works out very well for the both of you!
It's so hard to justify any major purchase these days in this economy. I do so much research before I make any major purchase & even then, I'm always slow to make a final decision. But hey, that comes from being burned in the past & knowing mistakes can cost a LOT of money.
Nothing wrong with taking your time and you are right, these are tough times. I question myself 100 times over anytime I think about making an expensive decision. I think it is a good thing as it prevents compulsive purchases. 😃
Do you think it'll hold up to having a dog sleep on the bed as well? Not that mine has crazy long nails, but just something I was curious about. Thanks in advance for any input! :)
I do. We have a cat that has used this a lot. We also got a puppy for Christmas and she has been doing crazy pupping things on the bed since. Jumping on and off, running all over it, sleeping on it. I also have 3 kids that don't treat it as lightly as I would prefer. After all of this, 0 issues. Still works like the day we got it. Hope that helps!

You got it. We put a fitted sheet over it and clean that. The Eight Sleep cover itself has remained in very good condition doing this.
