I love a good count down! Your Aurora is so beautiful. I can't believe I don't own one yet! I love the color with that pen too! Your Kilk is beautiful too!! Another great video! Thank you Lao!
Yay!! Yes I think countdowns are a fun competition of pens to listen to and hear other’s experiences with their pens! I’m so happy you love my top 2 as well! 🥰
This was so fun! I love hearing about your experiences with these. I love how fountain pens and inks are such a different experience each time and pairing. It’s always a learning experience and interesting!
Thanks, Lily! My Currently Inked will be up in the morning on Sunday!! :D Thanks for watching this video before the new pens! :) Did you like the top 3-4 pens? ^_^ or all ? HAHA ♥
Yeay! Looking forward to it! :D I am in Australia so it will be my Monday! :) Yes, Lovely choices for your top 4! The Aurora is beautiful & I enjoy me some dark orange ink haha. How does that Colorverse alpha taurus compare to Diamine ancient copper? If it is similar, Diamine has 30ml bottles! :) @@KenchanKrafts
@@hifromlily ooo well then, happy Monday to you and I hope it will be a good video to start your week! I think ancient copper is more red brown leaning brown. But they might be similar…. A lot of people seem to like ancient copper. I should get myself a sample to have in my ink binder!
@@KenchanKrafts thank you! I’m sure it will be! ☺️🥰 Oh perhaps not a dupe but just similar haha yes if you could get your hands on a sample it’s a very lovely ink! Diamine also has an orange ink called honey burst that looks lovely but I’ve never tried it. Now I want to ink up a pen in an orange haha 😄
I always like seeing how other people rank things. A pen really is a different experience based on the ink it has. At the moment, I'm writing my last few pens dry so I can finally start carefully choosing which ones to ink each month instead of having way too many inked at once.
♥ YAY! I guess continuing this series of ranking my Currently Inked pens is a good video to make and for everyone to enjoy. If I end up not liking an ink color or if I start to feel like I just want a new ink color, I'd just remove the rest of the ink that's left inside haha :D especially if it's an ink that I have a full bottle of. And it's nice to be intentional and careful with the inks you choose to fill a pen up with, I change out a pen at a few times before every Currently Inked if I'm not satisfied with the way the ink behaves, so I'm always being intentional with the colors I try. Sometimes you end up hating the ink or loving them, and that's all part of the fun and journey in exploring inks!
Isn't she a beaut?! The chatoyance on that pen is beyond me for how much cheaper it is compared to my other high end pens with steel nibs. Oh, but who is Rachelle in Seattle? Is that you? :) If so, hello from Minneapolis! :D
I have a Fine nib in my Kubozakura and I wish it were broader. I wish the nib grinders could make them broader, but alas, they cannot. At least you can get yours adjusted to how you like it. It's such a beautiful pen. edit: I commented before finishing the video. I love my Aurora's too. I have no dry out issues and they are usually the pens I reach for the most. That Volterra is on my wish list for the future. I can see why it's your #1
Yes, my Aurora is the best!! :) Perfect in my hand, very comfortable, lovely feedback, and perfect line width for my personal handwriting. But a bit thick for the hobonichi weeks squares, but that's ok! :) I'm sorry that your Kubozakura F is very thin. I do feel like Mediums and Fines are a world apart on Sailors and even Platinums/Pilots. That's why MF I think is the perfect line for me, but with certain inks and papers, sometimes Mediums are great. I definitely feel blessed that I can grind it down whenever I need to or feel the Medium and learn to love it! (Which I think I will with the perfect ink!) Thanks for sharing your experience, happy to be Kubozakura buddies! ^_^
Haha, oh Alecksandra! I'm happy to hear we have both thrown our wallets into the coffin...for this beauty!!! ;) Make sure you're buying her with discounts at the store you chose. It's totally even more worth it when you can get at least 10% off its price...which is...a justifiable price indeed. XD Since it's my only one, it also feels good too that my wallet has time to recover from anymore beautiful Auroras that might show up later down the line.
@@KenchanKrafts it was sold out almost everywhere, 10% discount at Appelboom was the most I could get. Technically I am still waiting for it because I want it to be my daily writer and I opted for unavailable F nib. But I keep the track of the inks you are using it with. I’ve already stained my Golden Beryl M200 with FWP ink and I did not plan to use it with any other inks then Aurora. Good to know there are other options. And I’m curious about the Mont Blanc ink (I don’t owe any yet) so looking forward to see how it ‘behaves’ paired with Aurora.
@@aleksandrasch yes! I also got it at 10% off from Appelboom and the Fine was out of stock. You’ll have to email them and ask them to let you know when it restocks or if you order it and they’ll order it for you. If they are out of stock for a while…then I definitely got lucky and feel happy to have gotten mine when I did! I’ll definitely put the Montblanc red fox in it next. I think Montblanc inks are very good, so it should be fine. I only use the best quality inks in my higher end gold nibs. I don’t trust Ferris wheel press in my gold nibs ever, especially shimmers lol. I have a personal code of conduct where I do not ink up higher end gold nibs with shimmers. >_< I follow it most of the time lol
@@KenchanKrafts yes, Appelboom has already ordered it for me, but they have informed me that the waiting time is ca.6 weeks. After learning the hard way how the ink can stain your pen I am extra careful now. I definitely apply your code of conduct :). I’ve recently acquired my 1st vintage pen and our Pen Doctor warned me about R.Oster, KWZ, Diamine inks without shimmers that they can clog your pen, especially vintage one. I use shimmers with my Twisbi only now.
Hi Aleksandra, I'm just wondering if Appelboom has delivered your beautiful Aurora yet! XD I think it's been about 6 weeks since this comment. (Sorry just going through comments I haven't responded to and thought I'd check in!) If you have already, I hope you love it as much as I do! I know Auroras and Sailors can be hit and miss for some people because they have a lot more feedback.
Great video! Get ready for a long reply, LOL 😂 The finish of that OPUS 88 is gorgeous. Let me know if you decide to let it go ;) I have had it on my saved list of pens to purchase. Vanishing Points are the best at showing sheen! I have two as well. The 2019 Tropical Turquoise and the Cherry Bamboo. I would buy more but I’m content with these two for now! I have the VP Radan Water Surface on my wish list. I would say, neither one of mine dry up. Check that little front door flap. Sometimes it will not seat properly to get a good seal, depending on the ink you use. That ProGear sanctuary blue is ❤ I love Gena Salorino’s Journaler grind. I have two pens with that grind and there will be more done! That Aurora 🥰 Obsessed!
HI Charis, haha xD I will let you know first thing if I decide to let go of the Opus 88. It's so beautiful, but that sometimes isn't enough to keep a pen in a collection when it will be better in someone else's collection :P So jealous of your VPs! The water surface is beautiful, but your Tropical Turquoise is quite rare. I need to look up the Cherry Bamboo now and I'm sure it will make me go crazy for it...but let's hope not! HAHA! I wonder if the ink drying is just at the very tip of the nib and if I need to keep the nib side down to keep the nib wet, but I will experiment a few things. There's the offchance that there may not be enough ink left anyways haha. I never once expected the VP to be bad at keeping their nibs wet, so this is interesting to me and I will find out the root of this! I love my Sanctuary Blue. It's my first grail for Sailor
;) If you know, you know. LMAO ♥I really really want the Tropici resin onto one of the next 2 cities they choose...but they're definitely missing a lovely lavender one, which I am ALL FOR if it is here. I'd love a lavender with light and dark purples and chatoyant pinks!
Beautiful pens🩷🙏🏻
