I tried on multiple occasions BUT couldn't finish watching a Wukong movies because it was boring, even the one with Donnie Yen and Chow Yun- fat in it. However, I stumbled across your channel last night and gave it a try. I finished all 4 parts in one sitting last night and saw this final one today. Your narration is pretty interesting and exciting throughout. It's like one adventure after another. 🙂 Thanks.

If you ever want another Chinese classic to narrate, I'd like to see what you could do with Dream of the Red Chamber/The Story of the Stone. Not many demons as in the Monkey King, but the story of Precious Jade might fit the arcana theme.

I enjoyed watching this as i recently started playing the game: Black Myth:Wukong I have known the story for a longer time but never had the chance to understand the journey or the legend better or in full so i was looking for a good telling of the tale without any gimmicks or disturbing flashy montages. And you did a great job. Now i have some backinfo going into the game. I even encountered references ingame pointing towards this story which is only logical. Keep up the great work. You at least get a like for every Video from me. And i will check out more of your work.
A lot of the chapters are similar. very common for wukong to go into demons bodies, very common for demons to be the pets of gods that went rogue, and very common for daoist being portrayed as evil and Buddhism as good lol
They travel, meet a demon in disguise, the demon tries to eat the holy man, wukong saves him, then gets banished. 😂 Rinse and repeat. I still like the story though

At the beginning of black myth wukong, sun wukong says "my master - safe. The scriptures - sound." Im starting question how safe he really is dude could be in a locked door in heaven and still wind up kidnapped! This has been a great story and I look forward to watching some of the videos based on people in this and the game.

Moral of the story: Always listen to monkey king or you'll be eaten or forced to marriage, next river or montain, especially if you're naive spiritual Monk. Also the bad guy is either a rogue pet of a god, then better just go ask him to take it back, or a daiost then it's weak and you can easily beat him, because boddism is superior.😂😂😂. Nice novel I liked it. Growing watching anime I couldn't tell much difference.

Anyone playing Black Myth Wukong know why xuanzang basically leads to wukong getting killed in the beginning of the game by tightening the crown??? and where is he during the game
Here is a twist for you. Do you know why the game creator name it “Black Myth”? They want to throw in the idea of what IF the whole Journey to the west never happened. WuKong never saved by Tang Xuanzang and he did not accompany him to the pilgrimage. He was still a violent monkey who loves to battle. Remember the first teaser they drop of an old monk telling “everyone knows about the myth of a monkey traveling with a monk (Journey to the West), but what if it never happened” and then stories fade into us in the gameplay. That old monk is resemblance Wukong in an old form. Still trapped under the five pillars mountains by Buddha. Go watch the first teaser again. It will open up a lot of thoughts😂
In the opening scene, wukong says "my master, safe. The scriptures, sound."he went on his journey to the west. Black Myth is an imaginative tale of what COULD have happened after the fact. The man wukong fights in the opening scene (I forget his name) mentions wukong's ascent to Buddhahood, even mentions his Buddha title," victorious fighting Buddha"

Like the Odyssey, Sun Wukong is full to the brim with absolutely stupidity and nonsense. Both are great literature masterpieces with mass amounts of bullshit within them and I'm not talking about the mythology or the creatures designs but how stupid every character is at times to be convenient to the plot.
Soo basicly we go Wu-kong who was the heart of the party the strongest and the op guy and without him they just always struggle. The monk always got kidnapped pfhu i love the story and all but gosh the peapole at that time didnt really have that much creativity as nowdays i mean yeah basicly that was the base of every modern adventure product but we couldnt say this story ist boring at sometimes😅

Journey to the West set the foundation and template of Eastern fantasy literature. Sun Wukong was the og protagonist of all protagonists.
