OH MY!!! That is fabulous.. You made my day. I am making customized wearables and would like the designs in fabric. This is soooo perfect. Cannot thank you enough for your great video!
If you are stuck for supplies, you can use one side or both of a laminating pouch. Either iron or laminate it, just make sure to cover any unused sticky areas!
this video helped me SOOOOO (imean SEWWW) much -- trying to decide if should go ahead and get one, have been wanting to push the buy button for over ayear now but kept reading some bad reviews regarding fabric, genius hack using the freezer paper for this! was already using this trick for my embroidery machine ad a stabilizer --- ty!!
The reason for the question about using freezer paper is because that's how we do it with the older Cricut machines like the Expression. Glad to know it works on SNC2.
Awesome idea! I just unboxed my Disney version of Scan N Cut. Trying to learn as much before I dive right end. But I know I need to play with it. Lastly, is there a cheat sheet for cutting speed ,pressure or which mat to use? Please let me know. You have a great day. Erica K.
This technique looks very nifty! Thanks for sharing. When would you need to use this technique? I wouldn't use it for appliqué because I would just use fusible appliqué paper.
I am sure I am slow in getting why we are doing this. I've used freezer paper on fabric before but only on the side I want to stick. Wouldn't sandwiching them make it have glue on the outside too?
you all prolly dont give a shit but does anyone know a trick to log back into an Instagram account?? I somehow forgot my password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me.
@Amos Jaxx i really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and im trying it out now. Takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
I need to cut a Batik fabric with steam a seam on it without ironing the steam a seam first. I have the cm650wx scan n cut . I have tried the freezer paper but with a standard mat it come loose before it gets done cutting. any help would be great.
I tried this method and it almost worked. What causes the fabric to have threads on the cut edge. I can’t seem to get a clean cut on the fabric. I am using a brand new deep cut blade set at 6
JoAnn Lienert I think if you look at the bottom of your screen when you have the design loaded, selected and ready to cut you will see the test cut, as well as the directional arrows and something else. I forget. All I remember was how excited I was to see it there, because I thought it had been discontinued. Also, you can make your own test cut. Make a half inch square and I move it to the bottom so I can check it without unloading the mat.
Tracey Bradshaw I have a dedicated fabric blade too. When my paper blade is ready to be retired I downgrade my fabric blade to the paper blade and the brand new blade is used as my fabric blade.
My husband bought me this piece of junk for my birthday in Feb. of this year (2022) and I have been trying to cut fabric with it since I got it and It only cuts the stabilizer, once in a great while it will cut the right side all way through but not completely. I have been trying to get in touch with brother but I can't find a phone number and their support page is under some kind of rework and not available until July 5. I am really tired of waiting to get some answers on this thing, and Please DON'T tell me to Buy a new blade because I have put enough money into this this, I'm not spending another dime on this thing.

This is nothing to do with the video. I want to cut around a printed word. I don't want individual letters but the whole word. It is a series of signs for a classroom door. Help......
Hello Anne. Hopefully by now you have the answer. If not, try reviewing the youtube channels by applelover53 or paperchef. They each have video(s) showing cutting WORDS in different scenario(s). One of them even shows how to cut names along the edge of a card. CHEERS
Certainly a lot less expensive than more current recommendations and products. Thank you.
Thank you for watching! We appreciate your comment and feedback.
Thank you for this tip, i'm in the process of trying this out.

OMG you’re amazing! Wish I’d seen this before I bought 2 packs of the high tack sheets. Thank you.

Do you use a special blade or mat when you use fusible applique paper? Thanks.
I am sure I am slow in getting why we are doing this. I've used freezer paper on fabric before but only on the side I want to stick. Wouldn't sandwiching them make it have glue on the outside too?
Using freezer paper with fabric does not leave a residue if you place the shiny side next to the fabric.
Great video
This looks so cool! I haven't bought my ScanNCut yet but am so excited to get it. I have fabric and I have freezer paper! :)
you all prolly dont give a shit but does anyone know a trick to log back into an Instagram account??

@Isaias Nelson No problem =)
You are great thank you xx
So great!
Any tips on cutting wool felt.
High tack sheets only last a few times before being filled with felt
Do you think this could work with felt? Thank you!
Has anyone tried this technique (or any other technique) to cut shapes out of denim?

Fantastic!
I want to cut fabric with my brother scan n cut. Can you please give me detailed instructions?
I just got a machine for 3 days, it still in plastic wrap in the box.
I still have no idea, what I should cut first. 😅
Can this be done with felt?
Can I ask where you bought the tools on the side of your machine to remove the fabric.
You need to show how to scan in pattern then cut it out.
I want a scan n cut but my hold up is the cutting of fabric
Cricut maker needs no extra mat and it can cut several layers of fabric
I tried this method and it almost worked. What causes the fabric to have threads on the cut edge. I can’t seem to get a clean cut on the fabric. I am using a brand new deep cut blade set at 6
@@BrotherCraftsUSA that's what I did and for some reason I'm still not getting a clean cut?
Great new technique! After my last update, I lost the test cut ability. Any ideas?

Make a half inch square and I move it to the bottom so I can check it without unloading the mat.
Ps. This is when you are using the computer attached to your SnC
But you can still make your own.
Thank you for info. I just wish I knew why the test cut button disappeared with the update!
Joanne, do you use the computer program at all?
What model of Brother Scan n Cut is this please?
Julie is using the Brother ScanNCut CM650WX.
@@BrotherCraftsUSA thank you. Will all models cut fabric? I've been looking at the CM600
Hi, do you know what freezer paper is called in Australia, thanks.
It is called freezer paper in Australia, available at Spotlight and most fabric stores.
will this work on the dx models
This has not been tested on the SDX ScanNCut models, but they are able to cut up to 3mm in thickness.
Does Brother manufacture a fabric dedicated blade for the Scan N Cut ?
Tracey Bradshaw no. You use your regular blade. I have two. One i keep for fabric. My other for vinyl and paper
Tracey Bradshaw I have a dedicated fabric blade too. When my paper blade is ready to be retired I downgrade my fabric blade to the paper blade and the brand new blade is used as my fabric blade.
