I bought a LR4 about 6 weeks ago and the one thing I learned right away is that what litter you use really matters a lot, despite the manufacturer's claim that "any clumping litter" will work. I was using a bargain basement clay clumping litter in my old litter boxes and when I started transitioning my cats to using the LR4, it turned into a near disaster (for me, not the cats) in that the litter I was using did not clump well enough and basically just turned into a big smelly, muddy clay mess inside the LR4. I did a lot of research on litters that work best with the LR4 and decided to try Arm & Hammer's "Hardball" litter and found that it works really, really well. I had been ready to clean the LR4 at the end of the first month and send it back for a refund (I had saved all the packaging materials it came with, just in case), but after switching litter brands, I am fully satisfied with the performance of the LR4. I have 4 cats, I am 70 years old w/increasing mobility issues, also have a limited income, so spending this kind of $$ on a cat waste system was very problematic for me. But I was coming very near to having to make the agonizing decision to re-home my cats due to my growing inability to deal with regular litter boxes, so decided to give the LR4 a shot, after months of research into ALL the various automated litter box options. I am very happy with the LR4, now that I have found a litter that works well. Slight caveat: I do not use my LR4 in automated mode, I trigger the clean cycles manually, using the buttons on the machine. This for a number of reasons: 1.) I do not own a smart phone and have no plans to buy one anytime soon. 2.) I am at home nearly 24/7 and within 12' of where my LR4 is located, in my bathroom. I am in the bathroom every few hours, so if I see any activity has occurred inside the LR4, it's really easy to trigger a clean cycle, it only takes 2 minutes or so for the cycle to complete. 3.) The majority of the complaints I have read about the LR4 have been regarding the software of the app is glitchy, and while I considered attempting to download the app to my desktop and run the device automatically from there, I have since changed my mind. The LR4 runs perfectly for my needs without the app or a smart phone, so why risk messing things up? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
No more so that you would have with any other litter box to be honest. It does happen but you just need a litter mat down to catch the litter that they trail out.
It isn't. Therefore, the cat's weight should be different enough. My cats weight 6.2 kg and 3.7 kg. For them, it's ok. I think I read they want to solve this in the next version with a chip reader, like the surefeed microchip cat feeders have it.
I just deleted my two cat's profiles because they are so close to the same weight, and set up an IP camera with the detection zone limited to the opening of the LR4. I get a notification when one of the cats roams into the opening space, and I can see which cat it is, and if they do any of their business, or are just checking things out.
Citrus could be toxic to cats; I would consult with a vet about using lemon-scented items around them. It may not bother some cats. I just want to make sure cats are safe!
Absolutely disappointed with the Litter Robot 4. The first unit took over a month and arrived assembled incorrectly and damaged, and the replacement stopped working within a couple of months. Dealing with customer service is frustrating; they're a call center in India, unreliable, and seem to have no interest in actually helping customers. Don't expect them to honor the warranty - they'll find any excuse to avoid responsibility.
That’s disappointing to hear, so far my unit has been reliable, much more so than my LR3. Perhaps there’s some inconsistency in the build quality of the units?

these videos are always appreciated
Thank you, I will record another update soon.
Is there less room in the LR4 compared to the LR3? I currently have the LR3 and 7kg British Shorthair🎉
Do you have problems with the litter sticking to the paws of long haired cats? That’s the only reason why I’m not sure to buy one

Thanks brother 🙏🏽
You're welcome 👍
How is it knowing which weight goes with which cat when their weights are similar?
It isn't. Therefore, the cat's weight should be different enough. My cats weight 6.2 kg and 3.7 kg. For them, it's ok. I think I read they want to solve this in the next version with a chip reader, like the surefeed microchip cat feeders have it.

Are you recording from inside the litter robot?
What do you think?
😂

How does catsan litter work in the littler robot
The clumping should work ok, but the non-clumping won’t work with the litter robot.
Makes a litter robot review. Never shows a cat using it
Extra super
