In this clip, Shaun Attwood described his time in a maximum security prison in the state of Arizona. He detailed the inhumane living conditions and how inmates were exposed to venomous spiders and other critters. Shaun discussed the racial politics that are present within the prison and how he almost got reprimanded by members of the Aryan Brotherhood for teaching a class helping Mexican inmates write home to their families. Later, Shaun recounted his trans friend "Shera" and what those who make the transition are subjected to while behind prison walls.
He continued by speaking about some of the high-profile inmates he forged relationships with while in prison, specifically, a mafia hitman named Two Tonys. Shaun recounted how after an incident with a cellmate, another associate of his introduced him to Two Tonys in hopes of getting Shaun protected. Fast forward, Two Tonys and Shaun cultivated a friendship that culminated in Shaun being asked to write Two Tonys’ life story.
Attwood spoke further about some of the characters he met in prison and the seemingly unreal situations they found themselves in. Shaun recounted meeting an inmate named T-Bone, who would eventually unintentionally avenge Shaun, who was beaten up by an inmate named Ken. He also explained how much prison politics can be likened to high school, with the only difference being the deadly consequences that hover over the heads of inmates at all times.

I’m from Arizona and I’m just getting hip to Shaun and the way he explains prison I’m never got the honesty and this perspective from a prison term
When I was down,in prison,in Arizona before I hit the yard they have you watch this old video and it shows a candy bar,Payday,on a pillow when the inmate gets back to his rack,bed. The video is funny as fuck. There was a dude on the yard that looked like a straight up hot female and he/she was very very popular lol. I had just gotten to the yard and I was in a dorm that had about 80 inmates. Catty corner from my rack there was a dude that had a chair pulled up for this female looking dude that was called Star. They were watching a movie or show together and the dude was treating Star like a girlfriend. Offering her something to drink/eat and I had never seen anything like this before. In Arizona the gay dudes that try and look like females,some of them have breast implants, they are called “Cheetos”. Star would hang out with dude everyday for about 2 weeks until one day I didn’t notice her because she lived in a different dorm. I asked A dude that I eventually became pretty close with “what happened to Star and dude (I’m not going to say his name)” and he said in such a nonchalant way “Oh so and so caught her cheating on him so he bitch slapped her a few times and they are done”. I started cracking up hysterically and my buddy was like “What are you laughing about?” I told him that I had never seen anything like that before and thought that it was funny as hell. My buddy had done time in California before so it wasn’t knew to him. But there was drama in between their group. Like a prison soap opera. My buddy’s bunkie was a Cheeto with massive DD implants but was cool as hell. His/her friend would constantly be over at the rack my buddy shared and they would always be talking about some sort of drama. Who was dating who and shit like that. Looking back it was funny and made the time go by quickly. You don’t try and get involved with anyones business but you can’t help but hear what they are talking about. My rack was directly across from theirs so I always heard them talking. I would often put my headphones on and listen to a CD because I didn’t really want to hear what they were talking about. He/she never bothered nobody or started any drama ever. But I will tell you one thing,the Cheetos were not scared at all to catch a fade with anyone. I seen a big dude get Deebo Knocked the fuck out by a Cheeto and it was vicious. I never had one issue with them at all. They were very polite and nice to everyone unless you were messing with them and that’s when it was on. They had a group of about 15-20 off them on a yard that had 650-700 people on it. But anyway prison sucks so stay your ass out of it. If anyone tells you that it’s cool they are complete idiots or are lying to you because they have never been. Stay off the streets and hit them books or learn a trade. That’s what’s gangster. Taking care of your family is gangster.
A lot of young kids need to probably know this to deter them from going to prison

Being quote raped in prison is the most overrated thing I've ever heard in 2022.The prison system has this thing called classification hold once you convicted they will send you to a classification hold Where they evaluate the prisoner based upon charges, mental health and physical health normally sexual offenders will be classified into a different special type of prison along with other violent offenders.

That’s not true. Here in Arizona you are classified by your charges,how much time that you have to do and if this was a return trip for you they look at what level yard you left from. The psychological evaluation is a joke. When I was at Alhambra,which is where you go to get classified here in Arizona before you are sent to your yard,there was a dude that I was in county jail with for a couple weeks and he was in my unit. He would walk around all day talking to himself,I mean having full conversations with himself as 2 sometimes 3-4 other people in his head. In county your phone call is only 15 minutes at one time. You can call back again and have another 15 minutes. This dude would be on the phone for hours having full on conversations. This dude didn’t belong in prison,he belonged in a mental health facility. His crime was that he stole some food from a gas station and he was on probation for stealing so he got a year and a half for it. His public defender knew that he wasn’t fit to stand trial and she did it anyway which was total bullshit. He was a black kid that wasn’t all there. A dude that was there who was from his neighborhood told the kids public defender that he needed mental health help,the kids was 19 years old. They just don’t care and looked at it as another bed filled in prison that they are making money off. It’s a sick system.
Here in Arizona if you are a sex offender you are most likely going to a protective custody yard because of you step foot on a general population yard you are a dead man. You probably won’t make it till lunch but for sure not dinner. Those types of charges are taking very very seriously because people are away from their kids for decades sometimes and you are out there doing whatever sick shit you are doing to kids. NO,that shit is not going fly at all. The messed up thing is that these pedo’s/chomos get short sentences usually. A few years and they are out. They also have the highest reoffending rate and it’s up there. The bullshit War on Drugs needs to end and they need to start really going after these pedo’s/chomos. In Maricopa County,which is pretty much all of the Phoenix Metro area had 10,000 untested rape kits but sheriff Joe Arpaio was more worried about someone smoking a joint or profiling Mexicans and harassing the fuck out of them. The War on Drugs is a farce and needs to end ASAP. States like Oregon and others have decriminalized drug possession and that’s a great start. We need to stop locking up drug addicts and sending them to prison where there are more accessible drugs than on the streets. In prison you don’t even need to get off your rack to get dope. A dude usually comes around once or twice a day and goes up to every rack and asks them if they need anything. It’s a trip!!! I’ve talked to dudes that purposely get themselves one year sentences just so they can be there to sell drugs. Out of that year sentence he will do ten months but make a $200-$250K i those ten months and if he gets caught they usually take his good time,which is those two months away and you go to the hole for a month if it’s your first offense. It’s worth it to some people. They work out all day and sell drugs and have zero responsibilities for the most part.

Mr Atwood is a smart man but what he just said about Joe senior is wrong. It had nothing to do with the new factions rising up or drugs in any way shape or form at all. Joe bonano senior wrote a book. Joe bonano senior basically trying to get out of trouble and throw the cops off gave information through that book he should not have given. Because of who he was and the respect he held, they did not Whack Him. They just made him retire and he moved out west.
