The law is the same for a business or a house. You can take pictures of anything you can see from public. Hovering a drone outside a bedroom window may be not be allowed. But flying over a house or business is totally allowed.
The laws are different. It’s about a reasonable expectation of privacy. So for example if you where hovering over someone’s house to look into their enclosed garden with a large fence to see them sunbathe then you’ll probably run in to some legal trouble.

We see street photography from a hundred years ago showing life as it was then. People were clambering to get in the shot. How times have changed. But how good it is to see how life once was. Thank goodness we had people filming.
Businesses these days run training and as part of the security training they say the filming may be for hostile reconnaissance. Many people miss the keywords "may be". It seems many people interpret that as - all people filming are likely to be performing hostile reconnaissance. Add to that the HUGE misunderstanding over GDPR and public filming then we have this melting pot where people start to become angry because they believe you are infringing their rights by not stopping recording when they approach your camera. That's the best way I can explain it🤣

What would be really useful is that all security employees be told to study in depth rules of photography and filming in public, rights of access on private land if publicly accessible and not correctly signposted, laws on what constitutes trespassing and rights of how it can be legally dealt with. GDPR rules on security personnel and how it doesn’t include the public only organisations, bodies, and corporations

HGVs reversing that distance really should have a banksman, especially on a public highway. The local H&S may want to have a word with them about best practice.
