I remember my friend's stepdad bringing us to Red Sox games back in '98 and 99 when we were in middle school, and he would always be listening to this radio show in the afternoon on the way to Fenway, we lived in Manchester New Hampshire so it was like a 45-minute drive and I used to wonder who it was, then 7 years later while I was working in college overnight delivering newspapers I was listening to Opie and Anthony on XM radio. I realized early on that those were the same guys I was listening to on WAAF when I was a kid. So cool how everything comes full circle like that.
Just imagine how this would have took off today with social media freaking out. Someone really needs to take up the O and A mantle and run with these pranks in 2019. Holy moly.
We have all become so numb to "fake news" at this point, I dont think many folks would fall for it. Especially when everything is a tweet away from being debunked, for better or worse
33:35 Them playing “I Lie In The Bed I Make” during the final break before they were busted for the joke was oddly fitting in hindsight given that they were fired for this
What is the name of the song that they are talking over in the background during the first 3 minutes? Is it a generic instrumental/loop or a specific song?
Both opie and especially anthony try to play this off as if thus was them poking fun at "hack radio" they are both, full of shit....this was serious and also an amazing prank.
1998 was the best year of my life up until 2017 (the year my daughter was born) I was in 8th grade, I had just DOMINATED the class now known as “Supermini” up here in the New England Motocross scene, I was starting to move up to the 125 class on 125 so hot that to this day, not 1 250F has ever been able to stick with me while riding it...
Jimmy Jamestown Massacre I didn't think it called for; "Jesus Christ on a stripper pole, Opie sounds like Ben from Dr. Katz!" It was much more subdued; kinda like, oh wow that's a thing... Huh, I guess I should go check out what else is on YouScrew.
This bit turned Opie and Anthony from fun Boston DJ's to national stars...

New impotence drug viagra damn this is a throwback. Hella funny
Being from Boston I remember listening to this live...I never laughed so hard
Also lived in the Boston area during this time. This and Rocko and Birdsey show were great times
In the first few minutes they play Jerry Cantrell’s solo stuff, Hunger Strike, and Sam I am. God 90s music was amazing.
It's why I can't post years worth of full shows with no commercials. They play and talk over so much music it would get striked.
@@phillytyrant5650Would you be able to upload it on a different site?
what is playing in a loop as o&a talk from 0:00?
OMG their fuckin hack radio voices lmfao
I listened to this live. Was working on a framing crew way back in the day.
As douchey as they sound (mostly Opie) they did do a pretty decent job with the fake callers and everything to make this a believable prank
It was Opie's idea to do this bit and set it up. Back when Opie had eDgE
Why you gotta shit on Opie?
yes they were put on paid leave from radio for two years... total setup 🤪

@@PeterTeal77 RIP Bill Burr
I wonder if O&A ever made it to the Alice in Chains tribute band's show?
Oh my god this is so cringe! I wish they jocktobered this whole episode with the gang

Philly Tyrant Hey man, do you know when Bill Burr's first time on Opie and Anthony was? Do you have that video? Or maybe Louie ck?
Philly Tyrant is that ur real last name
@@phillytyrant5650 POST WHOLE FUCKING SHOWS< PLEASE!
45:08 strangely prophetic considering Opie's dad would later die in a car accident.

Opie with his hacky radio host voice... I didn't think I could despise him any more than I did, but here we are.

Well if you were a real fan you'd know that they Jocktober themselves every year on the last day of Jocktober.
Don't get upset, I'm not a true fan. Never said I was.
