@@Monscenthe had a crappy show, then he struck gold when he met Anthony. He created the show by hiring some talent, then sitting back and watching the funny, occasionally interrupting with boring bullsh*t or a caller. Whoopdie f*ckin' doo! What a legacy.
That’s thee most common caller referenced line being said by every caller here in Philadelphia to the Preston and Steve show for 20 years. I guess it’s a Philly thing.
Dave Rabbit passed away on January 20th, 2012. I've listened to this segment and some of his broadcasts so many times over the years and only just found out about his death today. RIP to a true legend.
But Erock didn't bring the tape in. And if Opie hadn't it's very likely that we never would've heard about this guy. Now I get that you hate Opie; I started listening in '07 and was never big on him either, and I agree that he didn't contribute anything to this bit after bringing it in. However, in the end the most important fact is that he _did_ bring it in, which gave Ant and Jim their opportunities to contribute to it and turn it into one of their more memorable segments. As long as those two brought the funny and he didn't ruin it (which I don't feel he did this time, though your mileage may vary), then who really cares if Opie contributed or not? And not to single you out, but the incessant bitching about him on every single video is almost as annoying as the man himself. It's like beating a dead horse at this point.

Pause the hate, we owe Opie for this great segment of radio.
opie was always the only one worth listening to so..
@@zer0_d0wn45 Ha! Good one.

@Allin Rockwell i believe that he had the tape, it was relatively common among tape traders
So true. Thanks for this Opie you pussy

Me too....
Sub zero douche chills
Same haha

Opie proving the old adage..... Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile
Yeah he only created the best radio show ever.

What a fucking great show. So glad the O and A rabbit hole is endless
The caller who said “I hate to bother you at work” better have a hot wife, he deserves it
I've listened to these breaks so many times. Woulda been amazing to listen to Dave live. Apart from the whole, ya know, Vietnam thing.
Bad times make good radio.
and 19:00 "Sorry to bother you at work" that may be the greatest phone caller opener ever!!
Yet Opie steamrolled right over it while Anthony instantly realized it.
That’s thee most common caller referenced line being said by every caller here in Philadelphia to the Preston and Steve show for 20 years. I guess it’s a Philly thing.
What a bad ass radio show lol. Must’ve been comforting for a lot of the guys over there
Jesus Christ, Opie. You don't like Howard. We get it.
What a fascinating piece of history. Crazy stuff.
Anthony with the American Psycho references 😂 He quotes the best lines from great movies.
First time I hear of this guy. It is just amazing 😁✅✅
21:39 no they weren’t, Opie. You were the one that was getting annoyed.
Tarrantino's Resevoir Dogs DJ and Fallout 3 radio definitely was inspired by this guy
No, Steven Wright is just Steven Wright.
I think Steven could've been cast based on his voice being somewhat similar to Dave's
This is my favorite ope contribution to the show. Its a pretty short list
As short as your 🍆?
This man is a living legend. Much respect
he died
By "this man" you must be referring to the Opster
I remember listening to this last year around the same time, it’s pretty surreal

i heard he was the inspiration behind ron swanson
Good Ol' Pete spittin truth on Dave's' show!
This is brilliant
Vietnam DJ guy seems cool to this day.
Unfortunately he died back in 2012. He was only 63 at the time.
Golden. My fav Opie Anthony moment
This guy is awesome
Ope was legit triggered that Dave talked over the vocals
Dave rabbit...or Ron Swanson ? Where was nick offerman ?😂😂😂😂
His real name was Clyde David DeLay and he died in 2012.
I want 2 do a podcast w opie where we surf fish and podcast call it a surf cast or casting surf

" I LOVE this guy!" and "How cool is THAT!" Keep saying it Dopie. Fool ruins everything.
But not annoyed when the worm and pedo say it?
Yeah Opie brought the tape in. Cool. But his only contribution then was “how cool is that?” Would have been the same if Erock brought it in.
