      That’s great to hear Shawn! Thank you! Stay tuned for a how to play pickleball for tennis players video coming out soon as well with more nuggets like this! Having come from tennis myself one of the hardest things to do on the PB court has been to use our strengths coming from tennis but also know when to keep tennis on tennis court and play Pickelball! Haha 🤣

      You are very welcome! I have that tendency too coming from Tennis! The topspin 3rd is still great it’s just a bit riskier at times so just use it when you feel very comfortable in the situation 😄

    This is officially my favorite 3rd shot drop video! Greeaaaat advice! I love the cornhole toss tip! Thank you! I'll be thinking about that the next time I practice and play! And this is the 2nd video which advised not to rush towards the kitchen line. I'll stop doing that as well!

    ive been under the impression to keep lower body quiet on 3rd shots and dinks, less moving parts less to mess up? sometimes coming up with legs and shoulders on the 3rd shot gives too much power?

    It's great that the motion you use in this video is exactly the same motion you used in your serving video. I love that one motion is used twice in the game--one less new thing to learn. Only difference is the amount of oomph on the ball. You were born to teach this game!

    • @Pickleball_Health
      @Pickleball_Health  Год назад

      You got it exactly Michael that’s a perfect way to think about it! 🤘 One motion for multiple shots = less things to learn and more bang for your buck with each technique! Thanks a bunch for the compliment! More videos to come! 👍

    Great video the only exception I will take with your suggestions are I would include that deep serves are the best way to get easier third shots. The farther they are away from you when they return the ball there will be less Pace as it comes back and rarely does it go Baseline to Baseline. The second issue is I would always direct my third shot at the return of serve rather than play the angle. Is far better to take your chances with the person in motion than a person that is stationary and closer to you. Other than those two observations I would say this is a solid piece of information for successful execution of the third shot drop.

    Great instruction - awesome tips! I did find the (admittedly very cool) guitar paddle a little distracting from your lesson - maybe pick a "quieter" paddle for your videos. Nice job working in the local ambient noise (ducks, geese) into the monolog - very smooth! Keep up the good work :)

    Baby steps. It seems a third shot drop return of a 'banged' ball asks to pop. A hard return and begs this intermediate player to bang right back. Thanks for the feed for thought.

    • @Pickleball_Health

      True…. But banging their tough return is gonna get crushed at a high enough level so it definitely depends on your opponents!

    why dont I ever see tips on a 2nd shot drop shot ? being a newbie.. I think about things maybe that are silly, but I would think if the serve isnt overly difficult, why not use the same technique on the return ? I am sure there is a logical reason.. but logic isnt my strong suit.

    • @Pickleball_Health
      @Pickleball_Health  Год назад

      I like that you are thinking about new things! 😄We don’t hit a second shot drop (return) short because we don’t want our opponents at the kitchen line as it makes our job getting there ourselves much harder with them already up there. It’s advantageous to hit the return as deep as possible to force them into hitting a 3rd shot drop while you and your partner lean over the line and try to take their 3rd shot out the air and keep them in the back of the court 👍😄
