I feel that seth should have used a recording of howling wolves when he actually combo'd off like his maniacal laughter plus cheesy fake wolves would have been great.
Against merfolk possibly the funniest play is using the second adaptation to make the wolf tokens into merfolk, and they all gain island walk from the lord of Atlantis :) 200 unblockable mer-wolves
Right? I usually force my opponent to kill me. It's funny to watch them have to click a bunch. Plus, you learn new strategies and really see what other decks are doing.
Win more. Not worth having that stuff in your deck for the added certainty that you win the second the combo comes down. Not worth spending the mana and the especially not worth the card. He usually wins when the combo comes down
I was lamenting over the Dodgers loss in game 7 of the World Series until I saw this video, amazing series. Make enough of these Worst Cards and ill make a draft cube with all the cards you mention in the videos. Thanks Wedge :)
Not sure that's a good idea. Zur is already kind of a stretch in this deck as it is, and I'm not sure running a tutorable winmore spell is really worth it in this list.
"Adaption and adaptation are different forms of the same word, and they share all their meanings, which include (1) the act of changing to suit new conditions, and (2) a work of art recast in a new form or medium. But the longer word, adaptation, is preferred by most publications and is much more common. Adaption is not completely absent, but it usually gives way to the longer form in edited writing. " - grammarist.com/usage/adaption-adaptation/ You seem to be incorrect, sir.
Kim arguing semantics like this would be appropriate if Seth were writing a paper or an article but the fact of the matter is that the name of the card is Arcane Adaptation and he is either incapable of reading it correctly or is willfully oblivious of the truth
THIS is why i ordered those turntimber rangers! i got them in the mail weeks later and hadnt watched this other than the first game, so i didnt know why i had ordered them! lol. im on game 2 and looking for them right now
What do you think of maybe adding an Anointer Priest to go with the combo. It seems like the life gain could be relevant if your opponent has a wrath after you go off.
Hey Seth. Against the odds is probably my favorite series of the site. How sweet would it be to set up a tournament of a bunch of the best decks and play them with Tomer(spelling?)? Similar to what Randy Buehler did with the "no ban list modern" and "historical standard" brackets.
Boss Tsuna given that he waited, he ended up needing to waste path on the one getting cryptic bounced, because you are not winning a cryptic loop game.
I feel like you need to protect yourself from wraths by either putting an etb ping effect in the deck like purphoros or impact tremors for instant wins or a blood artist to ping the opponent to death with
Cards I suggest for v2 pf this deck Caver of souls :to make creatures un counterable after adaptation Xenografts: a 5 mana adaptation Halimar excavator: in ally deck his great mill engine and make win the turn the combo resolves Jwari shapeshifter: clones any ally for 2 mana especially good after adaptation Ondu cleric: if want life gain in an ally deck he is your guy Kabira evangel : giving protection to all ally preat strong
I'd wanna see this built as RUG so you can just fling that 203/203 at their face or play something like ferocidon or impact tremors for etb damage. There are plenty of wraths that just blow this out, and switching to RUG would also help mitigate the pain of opposing blood moons.
It gives you a lot more mana when you have arcane adaptation on the battlefield. Makes it so adaptation isn't only for the turntimber ranger and gives the deck more options.
I gotcha. Yeah. I was thinking it could help hedge against like dying to a bolt on your opponent's turn. After you get the combo. Also it could be a sweet safety net in case something goes wrong. Like a wrath. Maybe as a sideboard card.
In the second game against Mardu Tokens not getting a Forest off of your Path cost you the game, I think. Doing so would not only have allowed you gain two more life with Ooze but also would have meant that drawing Chord was an out. Sure, you might have lost anyway but still ... what were you so intent on casting with black mana when you did not have white? Double green (prior to Hierarch) also meant drawing Courser would have been nice.
Mana of this deck is reeeeally greedy, should've kept it straight bant imo or maybe just splash zur. Going 4-colour-splash-for-blood-moon really punished you in the game against control where you didn't draw green mana.
Hi Seth. Huge fan of the channel. I'm collecting signatures from my MTG heroes. May I send you some cards to sign (with return shipping of course)? Thanks!
I think there are just too many splashes in this deck. Black only gives zur which i think is just too slow and white gives d sphere and wraths. This deck can be UG, maybe W for path and such. But Nyx-fleece ram? Brain maggot? Not doing it.
Most infinite loops, when triggered, eventually cause MTGO to crash, as long as the combo isn't already recognized and hard-coded as an exception (such as the Oblivion Ring loop is) An example of the ring loop found here: ruclips.net/video/0yFcLH21uFc/видео.html
You slipped up around 9:08 and accidentally pronounced adaptation correctly
what the hell... is he just trolling all the time? I can't believe he pronounces Caryatid correctly, that one legit gets people all the time.
He figured out hierarch too!
It’s just a glitch in the matrix
I was looking forward to Rakdos charm. Not because I want you to suffer, but mostly because it would have been very funny.
Improvise. Adapt. Overcome.
I expected to see a Rakdos charm out of nowhere in one of the matchs where he comboed off. It'd be hilarious
I'm always disappointed when people scoop instead of letting you attack. How often do you see -603 Life in MTGO?
The dude with the Damanation should've let Seth attack instead of conceding.
I think it’s because he has to click it manually. Instead of just picking a number. I wouldn’t wait for him to tick up to 200.
Oh. MTGO doesn't have a "All Attack" button?
Chatao Lauj Oh I meant making the tokens. I just noticed he wasn’t doing it manually. It was just taking a long time.
Right? I usually force my opponent to kill me. It's funny to watch them have to click a bunch. Plus, you learn new strategies and really see what other decks are doing.
Missed Opportunity: At no point during the Merfolk match did Seth utter his "Lordy. Lordy Lordy!".
2:55 this is what I imagine Seth sounds like in bed.
Alright... that was worth the click.
LUL!
We're getting there xD
"Here comes the wolf, baby"
turntimber growing!
What a nice video, Seth! I probably added some mill or haste allies so you can win right away when the combo resolved.
Win more. Not worth having that stuff in your deck for the added certainty that you win the second the combo comes down. Not worth spending the mana and the especially not worth the card. He usually wins when the combo comes down
Playing any of Seth's videos at 2x speed is so enjoyable. The sped up laugh is infectious.
Only Seth would making a UGBW deck with blood moon
You know what would this deck fold to really bad? DAGGER BURN.
Do it Seth! Modern Dagger burn. You know you want to.
Can't chump the wolf pack.
-Seth, probably better known as SaffronOlive, 2017
JustAnotherPest SaffronOlive better known as "Seth probably better known as SaffronOlive"
I was lamenting over the Dodgers loss in game 7 of the World Series until I saw this video, amazing series. Make enough of these Worst Cards and ill make a draft cube with all the cards you mention in the videos. Thanks Wedge :)
This is awesome. It's basically a twin combo that you can auto loop on MTGO finally.
HIERARCH!!!! YOU PRONOUNCED IT!!! I am so happy, this is the best day of my life. 9:40
I feel as though adding red for impact tremors is just amazing. Zur searchable and an instant kill when you resolve your combo.
Not sure that's a good idea. Zur is already kind of a stretch in this deck as it is, and I'm not sure running a tutorable winmore spell is really worth it in this list.
"wolf don't turn on us, we're friends"
I was hoping for that rakdos charm. It would have been perfect.
Was anyone else hoping to see rakdos charm at 34:25?
Would've been hilarious! :D 2 mana, over 200 damage burn spell... new modern staple!
Tom Galonska Not new, it was popular during the reign of Twin.
wow control decks are sooooooo much fun
"I have Rakdos Charm in my deck"
**Faithless Looting**
> B, R
"GG"
**Concedes**
"I have drawn all my lands in the deck.... I should stop drawing land... I draw more land."
ad·ap·ta·tion
ˌadapˈtāSH(ə)n

the action or process of adapting or being adapted.
Adaption: The act of adopting a child in Boston.
Adaption sounds a lot nicer, though
"Adaption and adaptation are different forms of the same word, and they share all their meanings, which include (1) the act of changing to suit new conditions, and (2) a work of art recast in a new form or medium. But the longer word, adaptation, is preferred by most publications and is much more common. Adaption is not completely absent, but it usually gives way to the longer form in edited writing. Kim arguing semantics like this would be appropriate if Seth were writing a paper or an article but the fact of the matter is that the name of the card is Arcane Adaptation and he is either incapable of reading it correctly or is willfully oblivious of the truth
Yes, then why did you add the semantics to your comment?
Wouldn't Cavern of Souls fit in here? Nice synergy with Arcane Adaptation.
It's a stretch. Doesn't help at all with any of your noncreature spells, such as Chord of Calling (which is critical to this deck!)
THIS is why i ordered those turntimber rangers! i got them in the mail weeks later and hadnt watched this other than the first game, so i didnt know why i had ordered them! lol. im on game 2 and looking for them right now
i'm fine with that terrible record. this will be the most fun FNM deck ever!
Seth, since with Arcane adaptation every creature is an Ally, what about a Cavern of Souls, to make your Turntimber Ranger uncounterable?
43:20 what a fun-spirited opponent.
Love the deck seth!! Looks super sweet!!
I'd like to see you rebuild this deck with answers like Supreme verdict from merfolk and the such I guess
You always got so excited for slowest wolf spawns ever :p
wouldn't be better to d sphere the snap instead of path?
Boss Tsuna given that he waited, he ended up needing to waste path on the one getting cryptic bounced, because you are not winning a cryptic loop game.
When I saw arcane adaption, I was like, u can either get anything with Gishath, or all ur stuff can be indestructible with crested sunmare
If control is such a hard matchup, maybe you could slot in a Gaea's Herald to help? At 2 mana it's cheap enough to Chord for in a pinch
every time he says arcane adaption a little part of me dies inside
I feel like you need to protect yourself from wraths by either putting an etb ping effect in the deck like purphoros or impact tremors for instant wins or a blood artist to ping the opponent to death with
Hey I was just wondering if this was paper wouldn't it force a draw since you can't stop the ranger making wolves to go to the next phase?
Cards I suggest for v2 pf this deck
Caver of souls :to make creatures un counterable after adaptation
Xenografts: a 5 mana adaptation
Halimar excavator: in ally deck his great mill engine and make win the turn the combo resolves
Jwari shapeshifter: clones any ally for 2 mana especially good after adaptation
Ondu cleric: if want life gain in an ally deck he is your guy
Kabira evangel : giving protection to all ally preat strong
Seth is using my basics of choice
I'd wanna see this built as RUG so you can just fling that 203/203 at their face or play something like ferocidon or impact tremors for etb damage. There are plenty of wraths that just blow this out, and switching to RUG would also help mitigate the pain of opposing blood moons.
You missed attacking Gideon with your Birds (via Township) a turn earlier in G2 against UW Control.
Same thing with Hierarch in G3 against Mardu Tokens. Gotta be more aware of that Township, Seth.
I've picking up the cards for an abzan modern build all Ally's , now you took my funny trick public hopefully this doesn't bump the price
What about something like Dosan the Falling Leaf?
Oh man I know this deck. Hype
I'd love to see this with the rally card that buffs
Hazbat druid?
It gives you a lot more mana when you have arcane adaptation on the battlefield. Makes it so adaptation isn't only for the turntimber ranger and gives the deck more options.
I wonder if anointer priest would be worth running in this one?
We could, but hopefully once we make tokens we just win.
I gotcha. Yeah. I was thinking it could help hedge against like dying to a bolt on your opponent's turn. After you get the combo. Also it could be a sweet safety net in case something goes wrong. Like a wrath. Maybe as a sideboard card.
Etb effects would be great in this
Would be really convenient to be able to shove Blood Artist somewhere in there so board wipes aren't an out
Maybe some soul sisters or ally tribal effects on the sideboard.
Love you Seth. Have to ask; Essence Warden?
Why not play Drift of Phantasms instead of Zur?
I think you probably want a Grand Abolisher to get with Chord.
Hard to miss, but I would probably board out Knight of the Reliquary if I brought in RIP.
I think I need some more Rakdos Charms.
Wouldn't it be better to bring in runed halo for things like searing blaze
Arcane Adaptation in standard:
www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/803037#online
OUPOUNENT
definitely think the deck name should be hungry like the wolves
15:07 Questionable sideboarding decisions. Stony Silence turns off Aether Vial and essentially makes Merfolk half as good. They should've gone in.
Endrich evolution seems like a good card for this dec.
Why not just play red for Purphoros and a mech to give them all haste, ie Fires of Yavimaya
Soul Warden would've been fun in this deck.
„Opponent asks of It is infinite.“ Some People really are too lazy to read cards. Combo isnt too hard to understand
"Is this infinite?"
No, it stops at 200 wolves. Don't worry.
Arcane adaptation + door of destinies hello commander
Ok... That's pretty good. 👍
1:46 you ok?
This made me feel like I was watching Yugioh.
I do think you need to cut the deck down to UG or WUG
This deck is just screaming for Silence to be added to it lol
It's an Army in a Can.
I love these decks however I just can't play a dick that's going to be so easily controlled by the inevitable 50 counterspell deck
This deck needs a Purphoros
I want you to put that combo in commender ( i know you are not in it this season)
Mana of this deck is reeeeally greedy, should've kept it straight bant imo or maybe just splash zur. Going 4-colour-splash-for-blood-moon really punished you in the game against control where you didn't draw green mana.
Anointer Priest?
Hi Seth. Huge fan of the channel. I'm collecting signatures from my MTG heroes. May I send you some cards to sign (with return shipping of course)? Thanks!
Sure! PO Box 110, Clyde, NY, 14433
Tfw you can measure your computing power in wolves/second
9/10 needs fling
Draws fumigate
Ian Brown This isn's standard...
Gain 200 life lol
I think there are just too many splashes in this deck. Black only gives zur which i think is just too slow and white gives d sphere and wraths. This deck can be UG, maybe W for path and such. But Nyx-fleece ram? Brain maggot? Not doing it.
Spicy
Was hoping for more and not something that could just be done with xenograft, tho I'm not sure what.
Zur can't tutor for Xenograft!
Also, Xeno can't give you a turn 4 win like Adaptation.
This could have been better being 3 colors instead of 4
ooh, empty the warrens players should be soo jealous
What have we learned? Almost no one runs true board wipes.
So does using the token limit count as abusing a bug? This deck can basically never actually win a game, just lose or draw.
Michael DeGrave It is a May on making wolves
It's a may ability, he can stop it any time, he just picks "always yes"
Guess it's more of a theoretical question then since it doesn't apply here but does apply to some combos.
Most infinite loops, when triggered, eventually cause MTGO to crash, as long as the combo isn't already recognized and hard-coded as an exception (such as the Oblivion Ring loop is)
An example of the ring loop found here: ruclips.net/video/0yFcLH21uFc/видео.html
They do, but not token loops like Sporemound+Life and Limb or even the combo in the video. They hit the token limit before they crash the game.
I feel like this deck had just a bit too much going on.
Run this bant Ally's
Isn't it just a worse Kiki-Chord deck?
Run a blood artist
401 power :|
this combo is old.
Arcane Adaption is far better than Xenograft in this deck.
You're a towel.
Luliby I dig the insult, calling someone a towel, very innovative
I knew someone who called me an 'apricot butterhead'. Honestly, I'm thinking they were just hungry.
Not actually that innovative considering it's a South Park reference. ;P
jeez seth is bad
First
About as broken as twin tbf
MLG Pie Unless it's a sarcastic remark regarding the lack of reasoning behind Twin ban, you're simply wrong.
i didnt really like this one :(
It is relatively irritating to listen to you complain as much as you do
devotedtoMTG you should watch Frank Lepore's videos
