Yinchuan is actually quite nice, once stayed there 6 days waiting for my luggage. Despite the irritation of having no clean clothes etc I really enjoyed my time there. The city has a lot to offer, plenty of Hui culture. I think you'll like it.

Great post. There's no need to be defensive about the past ..or 'family situation''. Each person's circumstance r different. We all have our own pathways to life and happiness and nobody can say which is better. I can understand why some people don't like to travel... I stayed for while in a small town in US called Fort Collins and I know some people there seldom or never been to Denver (the nearest city) only an hour drive away! But travel do broaden the mind and nothing like seeing for yourself things outside your normal radius. I normally do not rely on one source of media for information as they r often biased and only want to project one perspective or narrative.

I am a foreigner living in China, my husband's family lives in Ningxia, so we go there very often. There is a lot of archeological sites to visit, very interesting and so pretty ! Wish you also can enjoy the Helanshan pretroglyph and the Xixia mausolee :)

I honestly had no idea you even had a bf lol and tbh, i didnt rlly care. A lot of women, especially in China (though that has been changing somewhat in the past decade due to greater awareness of things the problems that often come with marriage like curtailment of certain freedoms), feel its some social obligation you have to fulfill in order to be seen as normal, and it causes some women to settle for partners who do not alleviate their stress or make them more happy than if they were to be single. My mom was 38 when she was introduced to my father, and married him because everyone around her thought it was necessary for her as a woman to marry before she was no longer of child rearing age. My father ended up being an abusive monster who tormented her for more than twenty years before she was able to move out and get some breathing room. Anyhow, dont be afraid to put yourself first when it comes to maintaining your overall happiness, and good luck with everything with rural life! I really do enjoy your videos, as do many others!

(or despite the name, Japan actually almost never have any cases of Japanese encephalitis.)

Watching your videos actually helps me understand my home country, and soothe a durable reverse cultural shock. I was even considering about going back to Europe, and picking up from what I had left off (though I'll return there constantly). Indeed, rural life offers a wonderful taste of nature. Unlike mountainous Zhejiang province, rural northern Anhui has a large landscape of plain fields. I feel happy to spot swallows, yellow dragonflies, magpies and oriental doves again in the countryside. It was not so many years ago, now air pollution becomes less here. Pesticides use is still a problem. I don't see a lot of frogs and toads as well as snakes as I used to see when I was a village teenager.

the question about mosquitos... that person should come to Hong Kong and see just how quickly they'll get stung by a thousand of them in the middle of our urban area. lol. but seriously, Japanese encephalitis, malaria, spotted fever, and dengue fever are actually something we need to worry about here that is very rare in Zhejiang or Jiangsu province. (or despite the name, Japan actually almost never have any cases of Japanese encephalitis.)

Watching your videos actually helps me understand my home country, and soothe a durable reverse cultural shock. I was even considering about going back to Europe, and picking up from what I had left off (though I'll return there constantly).
Indeed, rural life offers a wonderful taste of nature. Unlike mountainous Zhejiang province, rural northern Anhui has a large landscape of plain fields. I feel happy to spot swallows, yellow dragonflies, magpies and oriental doves again in the countryside. It was not so many years ago, now air pollution becomes less here. Pesticides use is still a problem. I don't see a lot of frogs and toads as well as snakes as I used to see when I was a village teenager.
