I love watching John Wayne and enjoy his movies immensely. He was a true history lover and always strived to make sure that his movies were historically accurate, even down to the little details. Schmitz was the mayor during the quake and the great San Francisco fire of 1906. He was found guilty and imprisoned for bribery and other scandals while in office. Phelan was the previous mayor, family of the Phelan Building, which was demolished during the fire to stop it's spread and rebuilt on the same sight in 1907. Charles Boxton was appointment as interim mayor in 1907, but resigned after 7 days. San Francisco would still suffer from growing pains, as America's primary influential city on the Pacific coast. European immigrants were greeted by the Statue of Liberty, but it wouldn't be until 1937 that Asian immigrants were greeted by the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. John Wayne always brought history to life. Especially the things that have been forgotten and future generations know nothing about.
Found This Searching For The TV Show With William Shatner and Doug McClure Called The Barbary Coast . Thanks For Uploading This !!! Glad I Stopped By 👍👍👍
Good movie, thanks. Have to say, though, I prefer Ann Dvorak in Abilene Town, singing ‘I love it out here in the West’. And I prefer Duke on his horse ...
