Caused the gold content in those stuff is not significant compared with the price of stuff. You can get money when all of stuff you got by free.
I can not tell me it, caused it is dependend on what method you will use for gold recovery, experience to do that and the stuff plated by gold. Better for beginer you start to small scale (max.1 kg) to avoid wasting your money due to failure in gold recovery later

You can replace nitrit acid by using urea+soda ash+water by ratio 1 :1:1 for leaching the gold plating. It is very cheaper than using nitrit acid
