hello!! if you don't mind, i want to ask you, how many millimeters yarn did you use? anw, thank you so much if you answering me, andd i love your work. good luck!!
@@kayshaanjani7874 I’m not entirely sure because my yarn doesn’t have millimeters listed but any yarn that suggests using a 5.0mm or 5.5mm crochet hook should work! The yarn I used was size 4 medium weight/worsted weight
i made a spidergwen version of this for my trans gf, i made the braids have white, pink and blue for her too. planning on making a miles morales version for us to match. it's far from perfect but it's made with love, so i hope she likes it. thank you so so much for posting this!!!
It is so sweet of you to post this for free‼️ Thank you so much for working so hard to make this pattern as quickly as you can. I hope you take a well-rested break after this one! I can’t wait to make one for me and my friends 😻😻
Recommendations for other people who want to complete this pattern. Try it on as you go, and don't be afraid to use a .5mm bigger hook if the pattern is too tight or a smaller hook if it is too loose. I had to restart after row four to switch to a bigger hook, and I did the extra row of increases she suggested. I'm glad I did it because now it fits well, and the hat looks perfect. I wanted my hat to be a smidge oversized like Mayday's is for her, but that's just personal preference. If you are using a worsted weight yarn, but the recommended hook size for the yarn is different, then I suggest you look at the difference between the hook size she used and the recommended hook size for the yarn she used. The red and blue yarn she's using recommend you use a 5mm hook, so if she's using a 6.5 hook, then use a hook 1.5mm bigger than the recommendation label on your yarn so the guage is correct. If you want the eyes on your hat to be longer and more oval shaped than circular, use a smaller crochet hook. If you want the eyes on your hat to be more circular, then use a larger crochet hook. Also if you can't do the crochet webbing without the hat riding up in the places you have the webbing (like if it looks like you've got a peak in your hat along the edge), then ditch the crochet hook and start sewing. If you sew through the yarn you've already sewn in (not sure what that type of stitch is called), then there won't be any visible gaps and you will get clean black webbing lines without the yarn pulling on your hat. I personally prefer this look over the crochet webbing, but they both look cool. I just don't want anyone to feel discouraged if the hat isn't coming out the way they hoped it would.
@@Magali965 The yarn I was using recommended a 5.5mm hook, so I used a 6.0mm hook for the main part of the hat. I would still recommend measuring the body of the hat by row 4 the way that she does in her video, so that you can restart with the correct hook size if needed before you've put more than 60 minutes into the project.
@@leelahasan3988omg thanks and for the recommendations from your comments, I ended up stopping and figured I should of restarted the little I did complete and considered your recommended stuff you said💗

I’ve never done crochet before and I saw this video out of curiosity. The same day I rushed to my local store got my supplies and started making this hat with 0 knowledge. 3 days later, I have a perfect Mayday hat with confidence and a new passion of crochet. I like how accurate your hat is to the real thing in the movie. Very cool, and having a written pattern made it so easy to crochet this while I was completing my yearly Gilmore Girls marathon.

Just finished making this and have to say thank you for making such an easy tutorial to follow! The hat turned out so well!!! I’m a beginner crocheter and I’m so happy I was able to follow along. You did a wonderful job ❤️😍
I ADORE YOU FOR POSTING THIS!!!! I’m a beginner but I really want to make one for the comic con near me next week!! Hoping I don’t give up after the first chain stitch :))
Wanted to post an update to keep myself accountable! I put off crocheting this until today, I got up to the fifth row but Im debating whether or not to frog it and restart. I have a lot of gaps in mine and i've definitely lost count a few too many times of my stitches. When we did the gauge check, mine was an inch too wide. Overall, my circle looks very wavy and not as formed as the video This is my first project (ambitious, i know lmao) but I've really learned a lot so far. I couldnt hdc when I woke up this morning, and now I can! Idk, will decide in the morning if I'll restart (7:22)

so i finished this yesterday- took me from 1pm to 1am haha (i DID take breaks so it only took like 7 hours) and i gave it to my friend and they said they liked it :D
THIS IS AMAZING! Thank you so much for this pattern! The beanie i made looks TOO CUTE! I am 14 years old and have been crocheting for a couple of years now, and even though i don't like really long tutorials, i really enjoyed watching yours! It's super sweet of you to make this pattern available for everyone Lots of love
@@mymom3338 hahaha it's okay i didn't know anything either when i started. Hdc is the short term for "half double crochet", it's a type of stich. There are a lot of different stitches. The basic one is called single crochet. That's the one everyone starts with. And after you get used to doing the basic stitch, you can experiment and learn new ones. 😊
@@mymom3338 the beanie is mostly done in half double crochet, but there are places where you use single crochet. But yes i think like 80% of the beanie is done using hdc. And if you want your beanie to turn out the same as in the video, i do recommend using the same type of stich, because if you use the basic stich for the entire beanie it most certainly will turn out smaller in size. If you don't know how to do the hdc there are a LOT of really good tutorials and you will learn it in no time! 😊
Your tutorial is so amazing! Even as a beginner i could easily follow through. My granny whos been crocheting/knitting most of her life also said your videos are easy to follow for someone learning from youtube. Do post more patterns, excited to try them :)
I don't know how to crochet, but this is not only calming and interesting to watch but also super clear as to what you're doing (minus the terminology lol, the actual actions you're doing is very clear). Maybe one day I'll come back to this video to make my own because I absolutely love spiderman
Thanks so much for this, I'm a beginner in crochet but it was still easy to follow your instructions Even if I'm french, it was easy to understand your advices Thanks again
YOURE SO TALENTED AND SO SO GOOD AT YOUR WORK! I JUST MADE ONE AND I COULDNT HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT THIS VIDEO AND WRITTEN PATTERN!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR PUTTING SO MUCH TIME AND CARE INTO IT!!!
It took me one year to decide me to make this beanie but i finally did it, it's amazing my husband love it so do I, thank you so much for this video, i don't know much about crochet but this video is so easy to follow ❤
You are a beautiful godsend of a human being for posting this amazing tutorial 🥹🥰 out of the few variations I’ve seen of this beanie yours is by FAR the best ❤
I just finished mine!! It is so adorbale, i'm in love😭 On my end, it did not turn out as baggy as her's did so I will try making another one and sizing up on the red yarn hook and perhaps adding a couple more rows to the end of the beanie. Also, I liked how it looks with 12 or m,ore strands of yarn for the braids, otherwise it will leave a very thin braid and the bulky look of 12 or more is very cute.
Thank you so so much for this!! I made one last week following your video, it was so nicely explained and structured into segments. Really convenient to follow. Can’t imagine the trouble you’d have gone through to work on this so quickly. Appreciate your video so so much!! Going to be making all kinds of character colours of these soon🥰🙌🏼✨

Hello! Thamk you so much for showing this! Im being mayday for a Halloween group costume and irs so easy to follow! One tip though for the people who are saying its too small, measure the size of your head and go at least an inch more than that before curling it (especially if you have curly hair like me, i went 2-3 inches more than ny head) hope that helps! ❤️💙🤍
Just finished making the hat! It looks great. Thank you so much. I used a 0.5mm smaller hook to do the eyes and experimented with going through back loops only, 3 different hook sizes, and experimented with sewing the holes in the eyes so they'd have more of that signature spiderman slant. Also decided to sew the black webbing instead of crocheting, and I really liked it.
Thank you for all the hard work and details you put into this video. I always struggle with "will this be big enough for the person i'm making it for?"
Thank you for this tutorial! It only took one day to complete and it's gorgeous. Highly recommend using stitch markers as suggested and increasing for a couple extra rounds to make the hat bigger. I also used a 6.5 mm hook for the hat to make sure it was big enough. Now my Halloween outfit is complete ❤❤

I couldnt hdc when I woke up this morning, and now I can! Idk, will decide in the morning if I'll restart (7:22)
@@astrifts i believe in you!! i am also a beginner and I started this yesterday night/this morning and I'm already on the left ear flap. using a safety pen as my stitch marker has def helped me out and just listening to a lot of music keeps me motivated. i really do wish you luck and I hope you continue !!
I’ve used this pattern so much!! I’ve made a mayday beanie, a ghost spider beanie, and a venom beanie!! I love it!!!
so i finished this yesterday- took me from 1pm to 1am haha (i DID take breaks so it only took like 7 hours) and i gave it to my friend and they said they liked it :D
Thank you for including the kids vers! I've had this saved since you released the pattern but I finally made it in a day for my friend's new baby ❤
THIS IS AMAZING! Thank you so much for this pattern! The beanie i made looks TOO CUTE! I am 14 years old and have been crocheting for a couple of years now, and even though i don't like really long tutorials, i really enjoyed watching yours! It's super sweet of you to make this pattern available for everyone
Lots of love
Thank you so much!
I'm don't know anything about crochet, what does hdc mean?😭
@@mymom3338 hahaha it's okay i didn't know anything either when i started. Hdc is the short term for "half double crochet", it's a type of stich. There are a lot of different stitches. The basic one is called single crochet. That's the one everyone starts with. And after you get used to doing the basic stitch, you can experiment and learn new ones. 😊
@urlocalarcticmonkeysfan OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH I hope I'm not annoying you but for this video are we using hdc or the basic stich?
You are a madwoman getting this out so fast!!!! Thank you!!!!
I don't know how to crochet, but this is not only calming and interesting to watch but also super clear as to what you're doing (minus the terminology lol, the actual actions you're doing is very clear). Maybe one day I'll come back to this video to make my own because I absolutely love spiderman
Thank you! I try to make my tutorials as easy to follow as possible so that means a lot!
thank you for the written pattern, as well as sharing it free to us, you literally saved me finding a pattern of this one!
So cute, I love someone inspired. Peter made a Spidey beanie for Mayday. I hope this cutest beanie is well-known in the world.
almost done with my hat! This pattern was so easy to follow and so much fun to do haha! Attached the braids, I just have to finish the webbing :)
Thanks so much for this, I'm a beginner in crochet but it was still easy to follow your instructions
Even if I'm french, it was easy to understand your advices
Thanks again

What a great beanie, I have someone that is having a birthday very soon, and he just loves Spiderman. Thank you.
You are a beautiful godsend of a human being for posting this amazing tutorial 🥹🥰 out of the few variations I’ve seen of this beanie yours is by FAR the best ❤
Thank you so much!
Thank you for posting this! I’ve been waiting for your pattern bc your beanie looks SO GOOD. So excited to try it :)
I just finished mine!! It is so adorbale, i'm in love😭
On my end, it did not turn out as baggy as her's did so I will try making another one and sizing up on the red yarn hook and perhaps adding a couple more rows to the end of the beanie. Also, I liked how it looks with 12 or m,ore strands of yarn for the braids, otherwise it will leave a very thin braid and the bulky look of 12 or more is very cute.
Yes! Mine also didn't come out as baggy as hers. Gotta make another one now T_T
Mine didn’t come out baggy either but honestly my fault . I have a tight tension and I eventually forgot to loosen up 😭
Thanks!❤🫂
Mine isn’t big either. I think just because I have curly thick hair. It’s okay we’ll all start over together ❤
I didn’t know how to tie on to sew on the eyes so thank you for making it so detailed🥰 this is amazing!!!
thank you so much for this tutorial I've been looking everywhere for a good tutorial and didn't find one until I found this one!!
Thank you so so much for this!! I made one last week following your video, it was so nicely explained and structured into segments. Really convenient to follow. @@FluffyHeartsGacha I used around 100 grams of red and hardly any of every other color

I just got my yarn for it! I can’t wait to make it!!!!
THIS IS ✨️AMAZING✨️
Hii I just wanted to say thank you so much for this easy, quick and helpful tutorial ❤️❤️❤️
THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!! i just started crocheting and this is super helpful !
This is just what I was looking for. Thank you! I can't wait to make one.
The first thing I thought of when I saw this movie was "I NEED THAT BEANIE!!" I couldn't find it ANYWHERE!!!!!
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS TUTORIAL
I MADE IT!!!! THANK YOU!!!!! YOU'RE THE BEST
thank you so much for you effort! getting started right away. 💖
Thank you for all the hard work and details you put into this video. I always struggle with "will this be big enough for the person i'm making it for?"
I LOVE YOU! THANK YOU FOR EVEN PUTTING IT FOR FREE! SUBSCRIBED
I'm so happyyyy, because i found this wonderful tutorial, thank you so much for making it ❤❤❤
thank u!! just made mine and it looks beautiful thanks to ur tutorial. gonna make another one soon too : D
Gracias por hacer este tutorial, realmente quería hacerme este gorrito. Disfrute mucho haciéndolo ❤
Love this smm!!! i can make it even ive never crocheted before🎉 thankyou for doing this
