STCC 2007 - Round 8 - Karlskoga Motorstadion - Highlights

After a brief 1 Month summer break, the 2007 STCC season entered its home stretch with a return trip to Karlskoga.
After a race of attrition at Falkenberg, Fredrick Ekblom managed to stay out of trouble and extended his lead at the top to 6 points. Dahlgren and his Volvo never had the pace at the previous round and needed a result to keep in touch with the BMW driver. After a couple of good results, Richard Göransson was beginning to make himself a genuine contender a further 3 points back while Thed Björk also put himself back into contention with a lights-to-flag victory in the previous round.
There was initially a surprise up the front in qualifying with the Honda of Tomas Engström taking pole position with the Opel of 2000 champion Tommy Rustad alongside. Engström hadn't scored a single point since his second position here in June while Rustad had struggled with engine issues and general consistency all season long. Behind came Dahlgren, Björk and Göransson with Ekblom only managing 7th. However, Björk would be demoted to 7th while Rustad would start down in the midfield.
I managed to retrieve the highlights for the season off of the Wayback Machine and decided to upload them for posterity reasons. Quality is as I found it.
