Dan you read my mind! I've truly become hooked on DUA fresh inspired fragrances. The performance & strength makes the price tag worth it. I haven't purchase a mainstream fresh cologne bottle due to the longevity issues associated with them. Imaginary Authors every storm a serenade was an exception. Was like fresh rain hitting a wood bridge and can be still smelt on your shirt the next day. my favorite summer fragrance this year

I tried to get down with DUA and bought Poseidon’s Elixir 11Z. Only got about 4/5 hours on my clothes, even less on my skin. I’ve recently had better experience with Alexandria...and you get twice as much juice for price. Don’t know about the talk about maceration...but I’m letting my DUA sit for awhile. My Alexandrias were good to go right away.
M Nadz my Supernova had to macerate for almost a month before it performed like it does now. I get 8-10 out of 11Z - much better than with 13ZZ. I think Dua's, Alexandria's are often mixed when ordered. I've experienced changes in Alexandria's as well.
I dont mind clones it's nice to have an affordable alternative. As far as your cologne name I go with One smelly office.

Will be waiting to do 18 sprays of Mr Smelly's fragrance. I sample a lot of freshies for summer but often end up just stocking up on more Matrix (great hot-weather scent; projection, longevity as mentioned) and / or Best Citrus Ever (apparently others get the idea - Matrix goes out of stock fast). I also like Dua's take on Erolfa for less roasting summer days. I'll be ordering up Bianca Pura, which I've been sleeping on. Even though I'm getting Parfums Vintage's Soir version of Elysium, my favorite, I still recently picked up a backup to my Supernova. In comparison to other higher-end clone houses, Dua's are just a bit bigger and brighter initially and often greatly outperform Parfums Vintage in my experience (and are actually sometimes cheaper for US residents). Gotta give a shout out for Dua's Monarch (Roja Oligarch) and Italian Waters 2 (AdP Note di Colonia II).
Michael Milner Which one smells closer to Elysium? SuperNova or Evolution de l' homme Soir by PV ?? In your opinion which has the more similar opening and drydown to Elysium?
@@salazardravens874 Oh man I have not smelled the orig. Both are intended to be a little different. Supernova is likely denser with more vanilla in dry-down as it is a hybrid between Elysium cologne, parfum. Soir is darker with more woody, darker notes from initial spray through dry-down. Both are excellent; Dua has stronger performance and is fresher.
When you compare price per ml of elysium to supernova it is not that far off. Seems like the only way to justify getting supernova is if it was better than Elysium.
Thanks Dan. As you know, my opinions on Matrix and Bianca Pura have changed greatly - I really like them! I also have Elysium Parfum, and find the pepper dry down a bit strong, so Supernova might not be one for me unless they’ve tamed it a little?
Still can’t see eye-to-eye with Best Citrus but I’m trying believe me! Maybe it’s one of those that smells better if you’re not the one wearing it? Vert Instinct is a grower too. Not as in your face as Elephant, but still pretty fresh green nevertheless. 👍👍👍
Thanks Mark. I agree on Matrix and Bianca Pura. I love the drydown on Supernova and find it very well balanced. I need to spend more time with Vert Instinct. Hats off to Dua for reviving the very rare Green Valley by Creed though!
I had Matrix and the Scent smelled really good, green,frehs, right for summertime. But to me it ends up in a musk note, after wearing for hours, which makes me wonder, because there seems to be no musk in!? So I sold the bottle because I didn't like the drydown of it.
I would love to see them make more clones on perfumes thats "lost".

why every time dua is 25% off, half the scents i want is out of stock. then back in stock as soon as the deal is off.
The 25% sales must be used to shift the extra stock of the scents that aren't as popular.

I can see it now: Scensible Scents (or was it Scentible Smells) presents: O'de office, followed by O'de Night and O'de Man (the last one spoken seductively by Smurfy Girl). Capt Scentsible says the correct pronunciation will be Odour (or was it Oh, de Man, etc ) with Boris Johnson as the face of the new products. Theresa May has already declared its "The Best deal on the Table" and "There is no longer division and uncertainty on the best men's fragrance in the world!"

Matrix is quite close to Nio, but I think it has a bit of an indolic quality (Jasmin) which the Xerjoff doesn't have. Supernova sounds nice!
I will get my hands on 22 Shades of Bergamote - hopefully this will be as good as some people say.

Jazz_Bob 22 shades is a much better performer than bergamot 22 and is a much better bargain. A very well done fragrance!

Very nice fragrances, unfortunately usd to aud exchage plus shipping makes it to purchase. I have a handful of dua when they were cheaper in the old design bottles. Great review Dan.

I never get into exact numbers of hours as it is so hard to judge. I will just say it is a very good performer. It feels unnaturally strong for the type of scent it is
I bought a new dua called covet for a clone of Gucci Envy. It was ok but I sure miss Envy. Do you have any thoughts on that one or a clone of Envy?
Parfum Vintage Pour Homme is supposedly inspired by Gucci Envy.
My Covet smells different than what I recommend: Alexandria Invidia. I think Covet will get much better after sitting for a few weeks.

I personally like clone houses because I can't afford to pay hundreds of dollars for smell goods. I have bills and kids to raise and they come 1st close shoes and education.
I agree and to be honest youre paying for the name too. So why would i spend 300 on a bottle of something when for 60 before a coupon i can get 90%+ the same smell that usually out performs what it is imitating.
Great intro. I like Dua but I dislike we have to pay for samples. If there was a way to smell them in a store it would be different. You reviewers get bottles free and they won’t send the people that buy their product me samples. I own a few Dua Fragrances but due to that reason I won’t purchase anymore. I rather go to Alexandria the customer service is a lot better and they include three samples per purchase last. Overall great review good information.

I agree. Plus when you are in Europe you get the shipping costs, which are not clear cut, and customs. For Niche clones I will stick to European "Clone Houses".
B BG do the European clone houses ship to US. Are they on par with Dua and Alexandria? Like I own all the PDM but purchased most from Alexandria and Dua to compare. I also own Elysium but purchased clones again to compare. I would like to find stuff not absolve in the US like Dua with the Harris Exclusives and others they offer
@@elvisnear3489 Europe to US you might encounter same problems I have but from outside EU to Europe. The ones I have used for Niche clones (mainly PDM, Creed, Tom Ford, Kilian, Nasimato, Kurkdjian and Roja Dove) are from "Perfume Parlour" (mostly) and "Precious Pearls". I believe MrSmelly has a review somewhere for Perfume Parlour and so does other youtuber Frag-Mental. Not having tried Dua nor Alexandria (yet) it is hard to compare the scents but their presentation and packaging might be a bit better, but Perfume Parlour seems to be a lot cheaper. Still it might be better for you to stick to US houses.
They need to give samples with orders, Thats why I no longer buy them..
